Mission: Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: USS Roanoke - Conference Lounge
Timeline: 1100Hrs - April 15th, 2392

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi smiled as she regarded all of the medical personnel from ships all over Roanoke squadron as they were filtering in through the two large double doors at the back of the room.

The various medical personnel were locating their various seats as Commander Rachael Haig sat down next to the chair medical officer from the USS Rawalpindi. "So.. Violtanzia.. We meet again." as she greeted the smaller woman.

The small female nodded, she regarded Haig with a gentle smile. "Indeed we do. I wonder what all this is about.?" the tiny human female inquired.

"We will soon find out.." the Germanic female responded with a gentle smile, while she brushed her bangs out of her eyes. Haig settled in to listen. "Besides... This will get interesting very quickly."

Lieutenant Elizabeth Yamaguchi sighed quietly to herself as she looked around at the assembled medical staff of Roanoke's Squadron, roughly four hundred medical personnel in all, from nurses to interns to fully blown Doctors, they made a formidable bunch. "This is going to be educational." the massive female commented softly, more to herself than anyone else.

"Okay, Thank you, everyone, for coming, we all know why we're here" Commander Celeste Yamaguchi commented to her audience from the stage that had been set up prior to this event.

Ensign Suvek Duval smiled, he was almost the height, size and mass of his father but he opted to say nothing as he knew what was going to follow was going to be good.

"No, why are we here?" came the almost joking tone of Lieutenant Sam Swifthoof, she'd become known almost as the practical joker of the crew so Celeste was willing to tolerate a little fun and games "The Klingon situation my dear girl.. next time actually read the briefing Joker" she addressed the person who spoke with a smile as she called the Caitian by her nickname

There were a few laughs going around the room which for Celeste as well as many others, was good as things had been way too tense recently with various things going on.

Duval was one of those who laughed, more in response to the Commander's statement rather than Joker's statement as he had been expecting the pregnant female before him to get angry rather than treat the statement as a joke. 'Commander. Your stock just went up a few points.' as he found himself admiring Doctor Celeste Yamaguchi and her curves from afar. "Hello beautiful," he commented in a gentle tone of voice.

"Alright.... in this case, we're going to be facing the Klingons in space and on the ground.. and make no mistake, it will get out of hand, it will get ugly and it WILL get messy." Yamaguchi took a quick look around to be sure she had everyone's attention.

Lieutenant Galiaan Fordring added. "The Klingons do not care if we are their allies or not, if they even suspect us of trying to deprive them of their prize, they will start something with us on this matter so.... if we are boarded and you come face to face with Klingon troops, don't count on that blue uniform to protect you, they won't be too choosy about their targets and make no mistake, they will try to kill you.."

Nurse Cheleya Dvald nodded, processing what she was being told. The small Bolian female knew not to take other people's weapons lightly but this was the first time she was heading into a war zone so she considered it with a certain amount of trepidation.

Celeste Yamaguchi looked around, she had everyone's attention as they were riveted on her every word so she decided to simply get on with it "Expect lots of lacerations, broken bones, blunt force traumas, bruising and the like" she explained "Klingons like to go hand to hand with their knives, swords as well as their Bat'leths. Do not try to get into a hand to hand fight as that's an automatic death sentence.." the pregnant female explained lightly. "Instead try to disable them with your phasers as you will all be armed, also do not even ask for a surrender"

"Why not sir?" came another voice, Ensign Kadian Paris asked from her seat in the second row.

Fordring smiled, she had been expecting this question but not from someone so young "Because they will ignore it and regard you as weak, not worthy of an honorable death so they will put their honor aside and try and kill you, don't let them" The massive woman smiled as she looked around "I fully anticipate Klingon issues over the course of the next several weeks to months because to the Klingons there is no greater honor to be had than victory."

Master Warrant Officer Se'yal Stormsong mentally sighed, she had dealt with the Klingons before and this to her was nothing really new.

Celeste Yamaguchi added. "According to them warfare and brutality build soldiers, we are not soldiers... we weren't conscripted from our homes and families, nor were we conquered by them either... I intend to see to it that you are all prepared to deal with a forced boarding Operation from a Klingon vessel." she meant it too so she would need assistance from the Marines whoever could be spared and the security detachments of various ships to see to it that these people were ready."

Command Warrant Officer John Karstark smiled. "Hey, if they want a fight. Let's give it to em!". He shouted loudly.

The massive Gorn in the room nodded his massive head. "Yesss. We will rip open their chests and feast upon them..." he rasped. "Lest you forget that this is MY Homeworld they attack!" he roared loudly. "We will destroy them!"

The voice of the Gorn bounced off of the walls as many people winced in pain. Elizabeth regarded Toshnarr from where she was sitting, she knew all of this and she could feel a wave of emotion rippling from him, almost as if it was an actual wound. But she quickly realized that his exile was over and he had come home, only to see the midst of an alien invasion.

Flight Captain Heather Davis regarded her husband who was nearby. Julian Davis traded a look with his wife as he let out a sigh, he knew that combat was in their future and there was nothing anyone could do to stop this from getting stupid. Heather knew all of this too.

Doctor Gwen Parri sighed softly as she shifted her attention to her wife who was seated beside her. "I have a bad feeling about this.."

"You and me both Gwen," Anjali responded quietly. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid.. but you know what they say?" she inquired of the female half her size.

"Just because I'm not paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me." the blonde haired Betazoid responded with a smile. "Oh yes... I hear ya."

Lt Commander Autumn Yamaguchi frowned softly, she had experience in dealing with Klingon troops, ships, and weapons. "The Klingons won't back down people..." she raised her voice to ensure that everyone heard her. "Now that the battle has begun. Klag and his troops will settle for nothing less than victory... They will not stop until this world is taken by them, they do not care for the niceties of war, or with protecting civilians. They are fighting the kind of war we haven't seen since our big fight with the Dominion.." she paused. "We face a two front war.. are we ready for this!" the small woman called out loudly.

Celeste Yamaguchi regarded her namesake, who was from a different branch of the family tree to herself and thus wasn't a direct relation. "Well we'd better be ready, hadn't we dearest?"

There was a soft chuckle from several people. Autumn smiled as she had been hoping for that sort of a reaction.

Lieutenant Hae Min Lee sat in the crowd, she missed the presence of her wife who she found soothing most days and comforting on others, she listened in silence to the thoughts and opinions being tossed back and forth. "Is some weapons training in order for us all?"

Celeste Yamaguchi nodded. "Yes!". she answered. "You'll need to see the security chief's of the ships you are all assigned to and they'll make arrangements for you. Some of you already have experience with weapons so chances are you'll be asked to assist with training the other doctors and medics in your department." Celeste Yamaguchi explained.

Calliope Pravdin slowly nodded her head before she looked over at her opposite number in her department. Elizabeth Yamaguchi's eyes suddenly moved to locate Pravdin in the crowd and she smiled and nodded. Indicated she had heard the other woman and understood her.

Commander Bounlutay spoke up. "What about the next time our relations change with the Klingons?"

"I'm going to leave that one to the politicians to deal with... Since they seem so good at shafting us over." Commander Tienn Ezas responded, the first words from the Bajoran female since she had arrived with everyone else.

Celeste smiled. "Anyway. We should all be made aware of the strengths and capabilities of the Akurian medical corps. Today to help us do that we have Commander Anzan to do just that..." she explained. "Anzan... the floor is yours.."

Anzan then added one rather important point of information," Alright, well, our medical technology doesn't quite have the instant healing capabilities that your technology generally does, but what is important to note is that with our technology we can revive the dead, as long as they haven't been dead for too long. General rule of thumb is about 72 hours at most, but generally the earlier the better. As long as the individual's brain is intact, we can pretty much revive just about any injury, though it is worth noting that even with this capability, very severe injuries, such as where someone has lost a significant chunk of their body, may require us to transplant their brain into an artificial body."

The various assembled personnel all began looking at each other, many in stunned silence. "Wait.. you can revive the dead?" someone commented in surprise.

Yamaguchi nodded, however, she didn't say anything. "You've all seen the casualty reports from the surface and elsewhere in the system," she explained. "We will have great need of those abilities and technology before this fight is done."

Anzan had largely said what he needed to say so he didn't have anything further to really comment on.

"Alrighty... Questions, comments and concerns?" Celeste asked her audience, she glanced around at everyone gathered before her as she waited.

Heather Wolf raised her hand, she was acknowledged and given permission to speak. "What about supplies. We're stuck alone and behind enemy lines. This world and system are under siege, what changes do we have of fresh supplies?"

Celeste paused, she honestly had no idea. "That's a good question. I assume that Federation supply ships will be assembled into convoys before being sent here under a heavy escort of ships. I will need to look into that one and get back to you." It was a good question and many presents knew that but Celeste had phrased her answer simply because she wasn't told about deployments.

Lieutenant Sokanon, the pregnant Caitian in the room peered down at the displays before her and the rest of the personnel gathered. "Will we be beaming down to assist or will the wounded come to us?"

"No, the wounded will be coming to us... We know we'll be dealing with a heck of a lot of work and we will be severely overworked, the good news is that we won't be at this for very long before we get relieved." Celeste Yamaguchi explained. "That much I was briefed on earlier today."

Lieutenant Wayne Hawkins knew the next few weeks were going to be a brutal experience for himself and for every single person present in this room. "We'll hang together then... or we die alone.." he commented.

Celeste nodded. "Indeed we will.... Anyone else?"

There was silence before Celeste nodded. "Alright.. dismissed."
