| Personal History | Patricia Kingston was born Patricia Sanderson in early 2346, her father was extremely abusive to her and her mother while growing up. He was a civilian who worked long hours and he couldn't cope with having a child in the house. One night when she was seven years old, her life shattered into a billion pieces when her father, in one of his drunken rages ended up beating her mother to death, by snapping her neck and then he went after Patricia. Patrica had heard and seen the entire event and she was hiding in one of the closets, she had secreted a large vase with her to protect herself and as the door opened she swung it wildly with all of her strength, splattering herself and everything around her with the blood of her fathers skull she had just crushed with the vase. She sat there, numb and dazed from the encounter, wishing it was all a dream and that it would all go away before she came to realize that it would not go away so she went over to the house com system and called the authorities for help. her fathers drunken rage had taken both her mother and himself out of the human gene pool forever. The Police came and removed the child to a place of safety, one of the doctors at the local hospital volunteered to take the child home with her and as her husband was a starfleet officer, she decided to let Patricia live in a place of safety, especially after the litany of the abuse became known. Commander John Kingston who slowly but gradually formed a friendship with this malnourished and abused child over a plate of her preferred food which he cooked for her by hand, she was sitting in the kitchen while he was singing to himself, Patrica had never known this measure of protection as she had four new brothers who watched after her and protected her. The four of them went out of their way to see to it that she was kept save and well looked after. At school, one of the school bullies tried picking on her, her brothers dealt with him quite brutally by leaving him battered and bloody. The fact that her new brothers were always there and the fact that her two new parents always made time for her whenever she wanted and needed it, helped her come out of her rather imposing shell. She started to do well in school, better then she had before but she was still a fragile flower for years afterwards with nightmares and various other issues she needed to work through. Her family helped her as best as they could. After seeing the local school counselor who was able to help her work through the worst of the abuse she had suffered, she decided to go into counseling or herself but in Starfleet, she would honor her new family by following in their footsteps. She went off to join Starfleet in early 2363 and she was accepted into that years fall intake at the academy so off she went to face a new world of fresh hell, while she had her brothers around, they could not protect her as they had in years past. However the Kingston's had seen that this would be an issue so they took measures to teach Patricia to overcome on her own, teaching her self defense and the like, also she ended up joining the gymnastics team. Her time at the academy was relatively peaceful and she matured from a gawky teenager into a confidant and assured young woman, her first few assignments were more of the same as Starfleet began a massive buildup to face the Borg and later the Dominion when Starfleet faced its prewar hysteria and the madness that came along with it. She would serve on not one but two ships named Enterprise, the first until her destruction at Veridian III and the second was the Enterprise-E She would come face to face with the Borg themselves when they tried to assimilate the Enterprise-E and her crew, while she lost over two dozen of her crewmates to being assimilation, she would survive. She went off to fight the Dominion War, with words of courage and wisdom, as much as a phaser rifle and she endured the war, first shot to last and while she was happy with her work she was not happy with everything else and so she was posted tot he USS Thunderchild, her assignment here was mostly filled with boarder patrols and convoy duties. Patricia found her assignment here fulfilling but she wasn't getting anywhere before being assigned to the USS Dauntless, this Galaxy class ship was also assigned to convoy duty as well as general policing duty. Her assignment here was productive as she enrolled herself into several of the ships martial arts classes to refresh what she had already learned and then she expanded on it. In 2384, she was posted to Starbase Lya Station Alpha as their Chief Counselor, he was here that she met Sudal Malvek, a Cardassian Starfleet Officer whom Patricia originally dismissed as a parrot and she saw little use for him. Lieutenant Julia Shepard beat her to it as she began dating him, however she proved to be too volatile for the Cardassian to endure and so their relationship crumbled under the weight of gravity. Patrica's relationships with men never seemed to go right and it wasn't until she tried a relationship with Sudal Malvak and he found in her, a quiet compassion and inner strength while she found in him, a measure of peace and someone who could help with her own issues. Their relationship was quiet and subtle, over time it developed until he asked her to dinner one night and one thing led to another. She liked spending time with him before their relationship became serious. Their first sexual encounter however allowed her to release some very serious pent-up frustrations and needless to say, they both were walking funny for a week. They were married a year later a couple of months before their first child came along, a girl they named Jessica for an officer who died saving Patricia from a pirate attack. She would make her home on Starbase Lya Station Alpha before he was offered his own command and she was offered the posting of Chief Counselor aboard the USS Dreamcrusher, both accepted and he took the children with him since he was more stable and could provide more for them, however she contacts her family almost on a daily basis. Since being assigned to the USS Dreamcrusher, she has found her assignment here to be very fulfilling in that she gets to see what Starfleet can do with a new design and type of Federation ship. |
