| Personal History | Saia Azuresteel was born in 2360, on the Federation colony world of Corbulo which was a large temperate world with an unusual orbit, sometimes it weaved closer and sometimes further in its habitable zone so it had a wildly fluctuating climate from extreme heat to extreme cold. Most of her childhood however the world was in the warm side of the seasons, hot and scorching summers and mild winters but all of that began to change when she was about ten years old as the climate went through a sudden swing as one of the nearby Gas Giants began tugging on Corbulo itself, pulling it slowly away from its host star. By the time she was thirteen, she had to adapt from scorching summers and mild winters to mild and warm summers to bitterly cold winters as most of the colony all began to pack up and leave. The colony itself didn't do well with the sudden changes to the climate but there was only a thousand people here and about eight hundred all packed up and left to go to other worlds like Ballast and Greydowns. Saia and her family were on the last transport heading out from their ruined colony and she found she hated the planet itself for what had happened. At age fifteen she settled on Vega along with her other family and when she came of age she went to the Academy as a Medical student, except she went very heavily into the counseling side of things as she did so. She graduated and was assigned to the USS Omsk for her last three years of life before the old Excelsior-class ship was sent to the scrapheap, then she was transferred over to the USS Vladivostok. This assignment was much happier as she met a woman who she would end up getting married to while serving here, the rest of her assignments were more of the usual stuff, helping others overcome their problems and providing a listening and caring ear for those in need. In mid-2391, she was handpicked to serve as Chief Counselor aboard the USS Courageous by Admiral Nechayev, she was overjoyed and off she went to serve on this new starfighter carrier. After the destruction of the Courageous, she went off to the USS Coral Sea rather then the USS Tigers Claw, still as their Chief Counselor as she wished to be reunited with her spouse. |
