| Personal History | Sokanon was born in early 2361 to parents who met as a result of the Cardassian border wars, so she spent her childhood aboard various ships where her family was stationed. she spent time on the USS Orion and the USS Detroit while growing up, here her parents faced the Borg attacks and the Dominion War as well as the Federations various other issues. She joined her sister who was born a year earlier, they were joined by their brother a year after this. Sokanon went off to join Starfleet and her entrance marks gave her enough credit to enter as an officer candidate rather than go enlisted which was what she originally wanted so she joined as a medical officer, her sister followed her a year later as a Security officer, their brother came a year after that. She graduated four years later with honors and as a result she got to pick her first assignment rather than be awarded it as almost everyone else was in her class, she selected the USS Hiroshima rather than the Enterprise which was what everyone in her graduating class was hoping for, she wanted to ease herself into the thick of things before heading to one of the larger ships in the fleet. She enjoyed her time while assigned to the USS Hiroshima, she saved the life of an ambassador and helped with policing a Federation colony after the government collapsed as a result of damage done by a Borg attack, an action that resulted in a promotion to Lieutenant JG, however all things must end and she ended up being reassigned with a promotion to Lieutenant. The USS Mackenzie was an Excelsior on her last tour before decommissioning, the Captain of said vessel was going to retire after his ship was scrapped so he was a bitter old man who seemed to relish snubbing his officers and crew every chance he got. Sokanon would be no exception to this problem. Within two months of being on this ship, the situation had gotten so bad that she stuck in for a transfer but it was refused, it had been refused for no decent reason, only that the man wanted to be a complete and total jackass, so she pressed the issue to the Exec who passed it onto the Captain, he decided to slap her down as if she was an upstart cadet so he decided to treat her like such, she hissed at him as she called him a useless coward. The Exec didn't get a chance to say anything before the Captain picked up the pot of scalding hot coffee and he threw it at Sokanon, causing some rather bad burns but her reaction was disproportional to the damage inflicted, she attacked him in self-defense and she landed him in the medical bay. Her transfer was granted with immediate effect, then Starfleet JAG got involved, Sokanon, as a result, was demoted one grade but she was assigned to the USS Roanoke as a medical officer, here she found she could be much happier as now she was assigned to a ship of the line where the action happened. What did not know was that Captain Swanson was told to retire or be jailed for aggravated assault and when he refused, he was jailed anyway Meanwhile, Sokanon's time assigned to the USS Roanoke was eventful in more than one way as she ended up in a relationship with a convict named Gunther Werner who was a Private in the Marine Corps. Sokanon was never a complicated woman and this applied to her relationships and work ethic as she found herself dealing with more fist fights and bar-fights in one week then her previous assignments had combined, she didn't mind the suddenly massive workload, in fact she made more of a name for herself then most of the other medical staff did Werner was offered a plea deal in which he would have to recognize his arch nemesis as a hero, this he did to get rid of the taint that had dogged him ever since he came to the Roanoke, Sokanon assisted him with the adjustment. In late June of 2391, Sokanon, as well as most of the medical staff, found themselves invited to a wedding for Siaxx and her longtime girlfriend, Phoenix, she was overjoyed to see her boss finally tie the knot at last. Now Sokanon finds herself being assigned to the tower pad sickbay because of an incident she found rather shocking, Ensign Tienn Iteela went and beat another Medical Officer, one Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi to within an inch of her life. Needless to say, Sokanon was less than pleased about this turn of events and it bothers her that she couldn't be around to assist her colleague. She was less than amused when she found out that Tienn Iteela was acquitted of what she did to Elizabeth Yamaguchi but when she realized it was due to the drugs issues presently happening aboard ship she knew that they had larger problems than a Bajoran woman with a major anger management issues Sokanon decided that she would give the Bajoran another chance but she would keep an eye on her, she said as much as Iteela seemed contrite on the matter. The situation with the tribble outbreak was very trying for her as she regarded the tribbles as food but rather than simply feed on them, she tried to ignore them as best as she could. Staff Sergeant Gunthar Werner was a great help in assisting her to overcome her issues but her greatest trial was the hangar deck fires in which she was called on to help handle hundreds of wounded. While she came through to the other side of the disaster, she still lost people on the table and it tore at her in ways she had never expected before but again, Werner was a great help as he remained by her side and he was able to help her overcome her issues. However as a result of the Pineapple incident, her relationship with Werner came to a crashing end and she also found out that she was pregnant with a littler of three children, it wasn't what she wanted but she resolved to make the best of a bad situation. She had no idea of what to do about Nightstar since she didn't even know him but she also knew that all affected were not exactly of sound mind and judgment at the time. Just weeks after the pineapple incident, Sokanon was offered the chance to become her own boss on her own assignment so she accepted and off she went to become Chief Medical officer aboard a brand new ship, closing the door on her history on the USS Roanoke once and for all behind her. Sokanon's service on the USS Manticore only lasted a year before she was reassigned to Starbase Vanguard, she would be reunited with her younger sister and her family so she would have help with her unplanned children. Something she welcomed, however, less than two weeks after she arrived on Starbase Vanguard. Sokanon was informed that her demotion from Lieutenant to Lieutenant junior grade was considered illegal and thus would be removed from her record, considering her service and her actions since. Starfleet then restored Sokanon to her proper rank and time in said rank. |
