| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Toshnarr is a terror in battle, in that he will easily rend his opponents limb from limb, he also can handle almost any medical operation handed to him. He is also ferociously protective of those who are weaker then himself, especially if they are women. Both: his sense of humor is overdone and over the top. dry, witty and English Weaknesses: when provoked, he can easily terrify others, provoking a Gorn is not done lightly. Also Toshnarr will NOT tolerate abuse of any kind to anyone around him, for any reason whatsoever. |

| Personal History | Toshnarr is not an easy person to get along with as he is a Gorn, he's massive and intimidating. Toshnarr was born seventh in 2346 as part of a litter of one dozen eggs which was raised by his parents who cared for their children, they encouraged Toshnarr and his siblings to succeed but while on a vacation. Toshnarr's family ship was caught by pirates and boarded, the effects of this was cataclysmic to the young Gorn. His family put up a valiant fight and killed most of the pirates but the Pirate leader, a human named Arcturus Mengsk was able to subdue the more then dozen Gorn with a phaser rifle, set to maximum stun. Arcturus Mengsk. There's a name that is synonymous with terror, betrayal and violence. A living example of the ends justifying the means. A man with a heart as black as night itself with no soul, a slaver and a pirate who was willing to do whatever it took to earn cash for himself and his crew. A savage barbarian who never let anything or anyone get in his way. And yet, he is charming, erudite and intelligent. Toshnarr would burn this man's face into his memory as his siblings were all taken and sold off into slavery, many resisted and were murdered for their efforts, his parents too were also murdered and their corpses were fed to Mengsk's various pets as food. Toshnarr was the only one who survived in the end as he was the most docile of the lot, but underneath it all, his dark eyes hid a powerful intellect so he held his tongue. Over the next several months, Toshnarr learned a great deal from his captors but one particular tragic incident was when Mengsk brought in a dozen or so female slaves, mostly from Federation worlds and Toshnarr found himself protecting them from the deprivations of Mengsk's people, one of whom he killed in a moment of rage. Mengsk was delighted by the effects of this, here he had a Gorn who could kill after all so Mengsk offered to hire him, when Toshnarr refused he was given a Gorn female as incentive. Her name was S'taaszan and while the Female slaves were all shipped off all at once, disaster struck Mengsk when the USS Daedalus, an Akira Class ship showed up out of nowhere, seized all of the slaves including Toshnarr and S'taaszan and this disappeared, back into warp. This incident led Mengsk to declare revenge on Starfleet for the actions of the USS Daedalus. Toshnarr found staying on the Daedalus to be interesting and rather then be dropped off at the closest starbase like the others,he decided to remain as he bonded with Daedalus's skipper over a large chunk of holiday ham, the Terran festival of thanksgiving was in effect and Toshnarr found humans to be deeply complex and emotional beings but with far more honor then the vile Mengsk had ever shown. Around the same time, he volunteered to assist with the medical staff in Daedalus's sickbay, he learned a great deal after the adolescent Gorn was found to be able to comfort the sick and help heal the wounded. Stephen Caldwell and his wife formally filled out adoption papers for this Gorn, it led to some uncomfortable scrutiny but Toshnarr found himself being raised alongside their other children, who accepted him easily and here at last was a place he could call home. Tomas Caldwell and Toshnarr became very close as brothers, Toshnarr was larger and older so he tended to look after his brothers and sisters and when he time came, all of the Caldwell's ended up going into Starfleet, while Toshnarr simply enlisted as he wasn't yet well adjusted enough to go the full Officer route so instead he went the full enlisted route with the option to go warrant later. Toshnarr enlisted and he did his boot camp on Vega Colony before being shipped off to the USS Right on Time, an Excelsior medical variant where he learned a great deal in a short time, he also showed he was capable, subsequent assignments on the USS Compassion and the To the Rescue only reinforced the opinion his superiors held of this Gorn who was gentle with the wounded. His service through the Dominion war earned him much respect as he helped save thousands of lives who otherwise would have died during the war with the Cardassian's and their allies from the Gamma Quadrant. After the end of the war, he was reunited with his childhood friend and companion, S'taaszan as she too had enlisted in Starfleet and now she set out to show Toshnarr what it meant to be a Gorn as he was now more human then Gorn, because he had been raised around humans. Toshnarr ended up dating S'taaszan and the two ended up having children together and the two made their home on Starbase 45. However all good things would end and so would this posting as he was requested to go and help clean up the USS Roanoke as a personal request of Captain Talon Hunt. Since being assigned to the Roanoke, he has been stoned during the drug incident back in January of 2391, while intoxicated he culled the vole infestation almost single handily but what he didn't know was what he did to a Bajoran medic, he regarded her as his mate and treated her as such, unfortunately the experience killed her as she consumed some of his stored food which was septic, the shock killed her. This had a devastating effect on Toshnarr, just shy of breaking him. He became much more gentle in his dealings with others, also he became quieter and less tactful, to compensate he spoke more. This would also go on to have a similarly devastating effect with the severe beating that Elizabeth Yamaguchi sustained at the hands of Ensign Tienn Iteela. When he found out that Ensign Yamaguchi was pregnant, the effects was devastating as he swore a Gorn oath of revenge upon the Bajoran. Tienn would not longer be safe around this malevolent death threat, the only thing saving her from a gruesome demise would be her uniform, however in happier events, Siaxx and Phoenix tied the knot and Toshnarr was present for these events too. Toshnarr often can be found in the presence of Shonax the cat as Siaxx often brings him with her to sickbay, while doing paperwork, kitty and reptilian often can be found hanging out together. Siaxx's reaction was nothing short of amazement when she found out that Shonax liked the massive Gorn, it was a surprise for the Gorn too as when he does paperwork, the cat will hang out with him, the Gorn keeps kitty safe from harm. Toshnarr reluctantly buried the hatchet with Iteela before she very nearly got killed while saving hundreds of lives on the tower pod, one of those was Toshnarr himself who had been very badly burned. Since Toshnarr had been wearing a mask which had covered his face, he was spared from some of the more horrific injuries suffered by others but he himself rescued around thirty something people. He stopped counting as the numbers were unimportant. Among those he saved was "Phoenix" and "Leadfoot." among many others. The burns triggered his next growth cycle as he was forced to shed his burned and dead skin which was now blackened and charred from its usual dark green. Now his skin tone is a light green but he is now highly vulnerable to damaging his top epidermal layers as well as being more susceptible to infections. While the Roanoke was in the dockyards undergoing repairs, he decided to go off and go to school on Deneva. He did well here and earned his qualifications as a nurse practitioner an thus, a commission at the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Before being reassigned back to the USS Roanoke. Toshnarr remained assigned to the USS Roanoke until her destruction, he was then reassigned to Starbase 45 for training, he remained here for the better part of a year before he was reassigned to Starbase Vanguard (47) along with many of Roanoke's former crew. |
