| Personal History | Galiaan was born on Vrykul Prime in the early hours of March 23rd, 2317 and her childhood was a relatively happy one, she grew up much loved by her family and when the time came to choose her life career. As Vrykul life for three centuries, her time was plentiful as she had time to consider it. She had the option to go into the Pathfinder guild or into the merchants guild, she elected to follow the path of the warrior to defend her home which was something that surprised everyone. Her early years in the military were successful before the Vrykul Sovereignty ended up in a state of war with one of their neighbors. The Vauxhan Empire. Nerris met the man who would later become her husband in one of the early campaigns but as the war against the Vauxhan continued, the front lines seemed to become more static as the Vrykul was only defending themselves. The Vauxhan created a new weapon to break the deadlock, the Heavy Neutron Bomb which when detonated on or near the surface of a planet emitted a massive magnetic pulse which shattered everything on the one hemisphere of the planet while it also emitted a massive radiation pulse which killed everything on the entire planet. After this weapon was used on three of the Vrykul's colony worlds, the Vrykul marshalled their entire reserve battlefleet and went for the throat of the enemy, quite literally, they then destroyed everything orbiting the Vauxhan homeworld before they glassed the entire planet, killing over four billion people. Galiaan Archer was serving as the Chief Doctor for the command battleship that was leading the portion of the fleet that was clearing the Orbital defenses so the assault fleet could glass the planet. Galiaan for her part though this was an act of pure murder and not organized warfare but her companion. Tirion for his part disagreed with but he wanted the war to end. If that means this planet had to die to accomplish that goal then so be it. This one action left the remnants of the Vauxhan race as homeless refugees, scattering to settle on a dozen of their colony worlds while their leadership or what remained of it surrendered. The Vrykul accepted their surrender and absorbed the Vauxhan nation into their own before they began repairing the damage both sides had done in their ten-year-long war. It was around this point that Galiaan Archer announced to Tirion Fordring that she was pregnant with their first child, in response he proposed, she accepted and they were married two weeks after the end of the war. It was around this time that the Vrykul had their first encounter with a Federation Starship, named the USS Excelsior, second of her name. As the Vrykul could only gaze almost mesmerized at her gracefulness and her sheer beauty, many wondered if these new aliens had come to offer peace or make war. The Vrykul Leadership was immensely pleased to learn that these new arrivals intended peaceful coexistence and thus relations between the Federation and the Vrykul were always good. Both nations learned much from the other and the Vrykul relaxed the conditions with which their three conquered species were forced to endure and in the end the Tolerion's, the Habassan's and lastly the Vauxhan's were all resettled on a planet each to live as they saw fit, however the first two species had good relations with their conquerors and the last, however, did not consider they had lost their homeworld due to glassing. What they did not know was that the Vrykul military was working to restore the Vauxhan homeworld back to its pristine glory, when the time came for its unveiling. the issues were calmed and the Vauxhan accepted their place as part of the Vrykul Nation. Meanwhile, Galiaan and her husband along with their first couple of children departed Vrykul controlled space to spend time in the Federation, they along with several dozen others were sent to learn more about the Federation and when the time came, to return and teach their brethren about the Federation. Galiaan enlisted as Tirion went off to the academy, he wouldn't see his wife again except on leaves he would take while his wife took up a posting at the academy where she taught to medical students before she earned a commission much later, thanks to her work. It was here she spent close to twenty years at the academy, rising from Crewman to Senior Chief Petty Officer and when she was finished at the academy, she was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer before being assigned to the USS Constant as their Chief Nurse, she would remain here throughout the Dominion War from first shot to last Her service record would show that's he was more than capable of handling anything as she went from Ensign to Lieutenant Junior Grade and then to Lieutenant across a half dozen assignments, her most recent was the USS Roanoke as one of the Medical officers. She is a member of a very long-lived species so she doesn't really care if promotions come her way or not as she is still very young by her own species standards. Nevertheless, her assignment aboard the USS Roanoke has challenged her and continues to educate her in ways she never imagined or thought possible. Her greatest challenge came during the hanger deck fire as she was called in to help save as many lives as she could. When Siaxx was promoted and transferred to become Executive Officer of the USS Tranquility. Galiaan Fordring was promoted to replace Nalla Furban as Assistant Chief Medical Officer for the USS Roanoke. The following year she found herself becoming pregnant after being promoted to Lt Commander and replacing Nalla Furban as Chief Medical Officer of the USS Roanoke. Just in time for the Klingon's war with the Gorn. After the destruction of the USS Roanoke. She was reassigned to Starbase 15 to assist with their medical situation that had been brewing for several months beforehand, with a lot of work from all involved, the issue was dealt with and then Fording was offered her assignment of choice, she settled on Starbase Vanguard (47) as she figured that a little distance from bad memories, might help her start anew. |
