| General Overview | Gwen is not what you would expect a psychologist to be. She looks like someone’s kid sister and acts like it some of the time. She is very unorthodox in her methods of treatment. Much StarFleet personnel isn’t too fond of shrinks and she tries to talk to people in a manner and surroundings they like. She is regarded very highly by ex-clients. She is very inquisitive and always in to try new things. Never judgmental, always willing to befriend people. |

| Personal History | Gwen was born in 2359, she and her father did not get along as he was overbearing and forced her to conform to what she felt were overly impossible demands, from a neutral observers point of view, her father was impossible because he viewed his daughter as a mistake from birth. Her mother tried to protect her but it caused great stress on their marriage which began unraveling about four years after she was born and her parents had split up, both finding different assignments and Gwen went with her mother. She was something of a wild child. Her father had been married before and she has a much elder sister who is a starfleet officer. She grew up with her brother Paul. Her mother later remarried and she has another half-brother. Gwen has little contact with her mother or her younger half-brother. Gwen attended Cardiff University and graduated with a degree in medicine and psychology. This very much to the surprise of her mother, Patricia DeVere a celebrated psychiatrist, who never thought her daughter would amount to much. Gwen didn’t want to go into private practice, so she chose Star Fleet instead. In part because she admired her half-sister Rachel. She grew up while the Federation was fighting long and bloody wars to ensure its survival from the Dominion, the Cardassians, the Klingons, the Son'a and the Borg. Gwen found herself being drawn to the healing arts and it was these that she pursued while in school, it came to the notice of others when the refugees from the Dominion war began settling on Chudala, that she got the chance to really see what she could do, she went to Deneva University to learn about the finer points of medicine after leaving Earth. She enlisted in Starfleet citing the need to get out into the fleet as soon as she could, her time at ROTC was instructive and she learned a great deal in one sitting. Once she mastered all she could, she was sent to her first assignment, the USS Miranda-B. Her education went sideways when she got caught up in the adventures of that ship and of her crew, she ended up meeting not one but two people who would have a major effect on her life. Anjoli D'Bari and Davijaan Yeager, after one rather brutal encounter with the Borg, she and Yeager ended up sleeping together before she found she preferred D'Bari. Yeager did understand but she had hurt him. What did not help was that Gwen and Anjoli ended up in a relationship which got potent very quickly. Gwen also was able to resolve her issues with Davijaan Yeager while she asked him for a sperm sample. She wanted children of her own and Yeager agreed. Gwen would become pregnant with twins came along weeks later. Nevertheless, both tried to move on and put the issues past them. Her service on the Miranda brought her to the attention of Jake Yamaguchi and she and Anjoli were both offered a posting on the USS Courageous, both accepted. Her time aboard the USS Courageous was noteworthy as she ended up saving the lives of some two hundred sixty-three officers, enlisted and civilians in what would become known as the Drake incident. It was a first contact gone wrong and a misunderstanding in the part of the Mendozians resulted in a firefight, they honestly had no chance against the Federation but Gwen was able to figure out what the misunderstanding was about and having to relay that information to Captain Jake Yamaguchi who was then able to quickly and peacefully resolve the problem, this earned her a battlefield commission. The relations today between the Federation and the Mendozians were saved thanks to Gwen Parri and this was what brought her to the notice of Jake Yamaguchi, his senior staff and officers higher up in Starfleet Command. She was promoted to Ensign, only because of her lack of time being in the fleet, she remained aboard the USS Courageous for several years to follow before transferring with the entire crew over to the USS Song of the East when the Courageous went in for her refitting. In early 2391, Gwen was offered the posting of Chief Counselor on a Destroyer, the Norway Class vessel, USS Clydesdale. She accepted and today she serves aboard this vessel as she considers it an assignment that she can enjoy. in October 2391, as part of the military reorganization act, she was posted to the USS Prinz Eugen, a Concorde Class starship as their new Chief Counselor but in late 2393, she was offered an assignment as Chief counsellor of the USS Courageous. She accepted. Her spouse and children went with her. |
