Mission:
Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity / Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1400Hrs - October 8th, 2393
Commodore Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs was just vacating her office as the Operations officer turned to her. "Ma'am, the USS Infinity is on approach, they are requesting permission to dock," she commented. "They are also requesting permission to download the infomation that obtained to our datacore, they say they have ten billion gigaquads of infomation for us regarding the Halanan species that we needed."
"Outstanding," Yamaguchi-Hobbs commented. "Route that data to medical and clear Infinity to dock at one of the docking scaffolds, she's earned the attention from our engineers." the tall female explained with a gentle smile.
Meanwhile, aboard the Infinity, the crew were happy at the successful end of a long mission, it was tiring and demanding in ways they could never truly express while on assignment or duty. The crew of the Infinity, like any other starship crew, were all professionals but they knew that this was the end of a hard and demanding mission. The bridge crew was more or less the same as everyone else as T'Shaamet sat in her command chair. "Helm, how long before we dock?" she inquired as she watched the starlines fly past the Infinity while they remained at warp.
"Ten minutes," she commented. "Vanguard has cleared us for docking.," she commented. "Arrival in three... two... one..." as the starlines snapped back to stars when suddenly a planet materialized out of the gloom with a Starbase orbiting it. T'Shaamet breathed out and then back in again as she watched the Starbase grow ever larger on the screen. "Preparing for orbital insertion." Walking Bear reported.
Temetti turned her head. "Vanguard has signaled that they are ready to receive our download sir," she commented.
"Start downloaded the Halanian medical data to the Starbase," Horner commented.
Amakawa nodded her head. "Aye Commander. Starting Download. Vanguard medical reports they are ready to receive our many labors of blood, sweat, and tears." she commented as if reading from a script. "Apparently Captain Dvald is a fan of the bard," she explained what it was that she had just read aloud.
"There is nothing wrong with being a fan of the greats," T'Shaamet commented with a gentle smile upon her lips.
"Indeed," Kolar answered ion agreement. "The Klingons have few who can tell a good yarn as he can," he added as he worked at his station.
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Take us in Heather, nice and slow..." she turned to the Trill woman at Operations. "Mesilina, confirm our clearance to dock." the small Vulcan inquired.
"Helm, drop our speed to two hundred kilometers an hour," Horner commented. "Then slow that down to twenty kilometers per second, after thirty seconds.' she ordered.
Walking Bear nodded her head. "Two Hundred KPH, aye Commander," she answered in clipped tones.
Amakawa tapped the display before her. "Approach control, this is Infinity, ready for docking maneuver."
"The answer was quick and simple. "Infinity is cleared to dock with docking scaffold nine."
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Lock on."
Walking Bear worked her pannel as she smiled. "Systems locked."
The lights around the bridge seemed to dim while turning from their usual color to a deep blue tone.
Horner grinned softly to herself. "Vanguard, you have control."
The answer from the Starbase was clear and quick. "Affirmative Infinity, enjoy the ride and welcome home."
T'Shaamet answered this time as she shifted her position in her chair. "Infinity confirms."
The Infinity slowly moved through the massive hulking slabs of metal that passed for the spacedock doors, Walking Bear smiled as she watched the displays on her pannel. "Vanguard is moving us into position."
"Stand by to Dock," Horner commented from where he was seated.
"Ready to dock sir," Amakawa answered in her usual crisp tones.
Horner watched the display on her pannel as he nodded. "Engage mooring beams and lock off..."
Walking Bear nodded. "Aye Commander." she slowly smiled as several new sounds could be heard throughout the massive ship as she came into position.
"And... Docking complete." Walking Bear reported as a loud series of booming sounds could be heard as the Infinity physically connected with the docking scaffold that she had been assigned to.
T'Shaamet rose to her feet. "Thank you number one... Well Done everyone," she commented evenly.
Commander Ethan Duval turned his head. "I request permission to disembark Captain.?" he inquired of the small Vulcan.
"Permission granted Commander. Your assistance has been invaluable, without you, Commander Yamaguchi or Captain Yamaguchi, we would never have been able to pull this mission off, my report shall reflect this." the small Vulcan explained. "I intend to nominate you all for medals and commendations."
"You are too kind. We did what was required of us." Duval rose to his feet. "Peace and long life Captain." as he held his hand up in the traditional Vulcan salute as he addressed the smaller Vulcan female before her in the formal style preferred by her people.
She raised her hand in response. "Live long and prosper Commander. Thank you for your assistance on this assignment." and with that Duval rose to his feet before he addressed the bridge crew. "Serving with you all has been a privilege. Thank you for letting me be a part of this family, for my brief time here." and with that, he turned and walked off of the bridge. T'Shaamet turned to Horner. "Alright, let's kick the crew off of this ship, shore leave is to commence immediately," she commented in her usual soft, dusky tones.
"Sounds good Captain." Horner agreed with a wide smile on her face.
Meanwhile, Several decks below the bridge. Ouros went down the hallway to one of the transporter rooms as she found herself face to face with a young woman she recognized but couldn't place her. Enyo came around the corner a moment later followed by Benjamin. "Hey, guys." Ouros addressed her cousin and mission commander. "Going my way?" she asked with a smile.
"You going over to the Starbase?" Enyo inquired as she answered the other woman's question, with a question of her own.
"I am. I'm going to take a couple of weeks for leave and then head on back to my unit, see how they faired in my absence." the tall female explained. "And you?" Ouros asked of Enyo.
"The same. I'll be seeing to these two before I head back out to the Peerless..." Enyo answered as the foursome entered the transporter room. The operator regarded the small gathering. "Can I help you guys?" he inquired in a polite tone of voice.
"Could you transport us over to the Starbase.?" Enyo inquired, she was now back to wearing her normal uniform now, as were many others among the crew, Ouros, however, was still wearing her alternate reality uniform.
"Sure, hop on and I'll send you over to the base." the man answered.
"Thanks." and with that, the four of them stepped onto the pad and were beamed over to the Starbase appearing on one of the starbases many transporter rooms without fanfare or drama. Ouros stepped off of the pad before leaving the transporter room and heading off down a hallway, she was heading for her quarters, it was more or less the same with Enyo and her children as they followed the marine out the door and down the hallway.
