| Personal History | Sarah Horner was born in 2353, forth of six children on the colony world of Bounty. This was a world that truly lived up to its name and it attracted attention from far and wide for its bountiful supplies of foodstuffs which it sent to other Federation colonies but it was an attack from the Orion syndicate which was met with force thanks to the large number of retired Starfleet officers who had settled on this lush paradise of a world. The Orion's decided to attack and seize the entire colony plus all of its foodstuffs and so their attack began in the early hours of June 22nd, 2365 but what the Orion's didn't count on was the ferocious defense the colonists would give. Even after two hundred of them were finally taken after the Orion's were driven off. Sarah Horner being among them as she found herself being freed by an Orion who said he wished to rescue her but in fact he wished to rape her. Sarah smiled as she was able to turn the tables with surprise and guile, she then proceeded to free all of the colonists and in the end after a long winded running firefight across the ship, they were able to capture one then both the Orion warships which the colony then kept as part of a homemade defense force. Sarah was feted as 'the hero who saved us all' said one woman after everything had settled down but Sarah found more solace in the fact that she was able to save her entire colony and thousands from being carted off to lives of abuse and slavery. This event was also an eye opening event for Sarah as she relized that not everyone wanted peace so she decided to join Starfleet when she came of age in 2370, when she went off to Starfleet Academy Sarah Horner did well at the academy but she also displayed a fine aptitude for one who wanted to be a therapist, she also had a fine interest in the tactical side of things and so she invested a lot of time into learning how to protect herself and those around her with her various skills, including hand held weapons such as swords and crossbows, to using various types of beam weapons to projectile weapons, she could also double as a command officer as well, serving in three major areas should it become needed. She graduated the academy and her first choice was to be assigned tot he Vigilant class scout ship USS Montrose which she refused, citing flee experience so she requested assigned to the USS Marathon instead, her request was granted and off she went. Sarah Horners time aboard the Marathon was instructive to her and everyone around her in exactly what this woman was capable of and it showed too, she found the entire Dominion War being assigned to this ship of the line but as soon as the war ended, she was reassigned over tot he USS Courageous. She was sent there to evaluate Jake Yamaguchi in his command fitness, and she suspected someone was stacking the deck against him and her fears proved true when Admiral Nechayev was revealed to be wanting to remove him and place someone she felt was wiser and more experienced in the command seat so Sarah Horner did a simple evaluation and she cleared him with flying colors. Sarah remained on the Courageous for another dozen years, becoming the head of counseling and when the USS Courageous went in for her twenty year refit to be modernized up to state of the art, she went over with the crew to the USS Song of the East which was a newly commissioned Pathfinder II class ship of the line. When Jake was promoted and forced off of the ship, she became Exec as 'Runt' selected her for the posting. Now she feels she'll have the time to settle down and start her family which she denied herself for so long. Today in mid 2391, she is still the executive officer of the USS Song of the East. When the Song of the East went in for refitting to Renown class specs. She and her crew were reassigned to the Renown class USS Infinity as Executive Officer. In late 2393, Sarah was promoted to Captain and given her choice of commands and her first officer, she selected Kolar, so of Makar and offered him the choice of Exec, he accepted and the two departed for their next assignment. |
