| Personal History | Alyssa Temetti was born in 2353, on the colony world of Mesa. She grew up learning about how this planet worked as she found herself drawn to the sciences. In particular planetary sciences and geology as Mesa orbited its sun at about 60 million miles but its star was ten percent smaller than Sol. Alyssa along with her schoolmates found this world possessed many secrets, one of which was its unusually high amounts of rhyolite lava which is extremely dangerous because of its explosive potential. The planet was much younger then Earth so it had more radioactive material in its core as opposed to Earth which was more than twice the age of Mesa. When Temetti came of age, she went off to join Starfleet and while her time at the academy was educational, she found it to be disappointing in that she had to conform to a lot of rules and regulations which she saw as unnecessary at times. She stuck with it however and finally graduated in 2374 but she was around eightieth in her class. Her downfall at the academy was that she had no respect for the rules. Alyssa was offered the USS Nigeria as her placement for her first assignment, it was either that or accept a Starbase posting, she settled for the ship so off she went and she did quite well for her first assignment but she was transferred off to the USS Kenya for her second, she would remain here for the first half of the Dominion War, having her ship destroyed out from under her as she and over four hundred others fled in escape pods, leaving behind some sixty dead and a flaming hulk that was her home. Also, the Dominion launched a sneak attack on her homeworld, two Cardassian Galor's were the ones doing the attack but the orbital defences killed one of them before it got into range but the second fired a half a dozen torpedoes at the planet before it too fell to Federation weapons fire, five of the torpedoes missed but the sixth landed not far from the colony, killing over a hundred and thirty people. Alyssa's parents were among the dead. Alyssa became angry then enraged and she resolved to see the Dominion defeated no matter what it took as she went about learning how to fight, she was able to overwhelm the inertial dampers on a Jem'Hadar attack ship after it crippled her own ship, this action earned her a medal and a commendation. She would finish the war as a tired and bitter young woman but worse was to follow as her second ship, the USS Kenya was destroyed at the battle of the Three Suns. She was reassigned to the new USS Kenya a week later and she remained here aboard this ship for another three years, ending the war and doing several patrols assignments as well as convoy duty. In 2379, Alyssa was reassigned to the USS Cape Town, an older Excelsior-class starship that spent most of her time doing general support duties going from Starbase to Starbase, looking after convoys and the like,. Her next assignment was to the USS Courageous, this would prove to be the most interesting and most enjoyable assignment of her entire career to date, it was here where she met her future husband and have two children with him. Kolar interested her almost from the moment they met as he had heard about her, the two decided on a friendly duel and he found himself impressed with her combat skills, he reasoned that if her science skills were as sharp as her combat skills then she would be a most dangerous threat. The two started dating almost immediately and she was carrying this first child within a month, they were married in six and they had their family in a year, it was this that she had been lacking ever since the end of the war against the Dominion. in 2388, she was reassigned to the USS Song of the East as the new Chief science officer for this large battleship and today she remains here as the Chief of Science and mother to two children. When the Song of the East went in for refitting to Renown class specs. She and the rest of the crew were reassigned to the Renown class USS Infinity. Her assignment to the Infinity was memorable for several reasons but in late 2393, she was offered the chance to move into command and become the Executive officer for the USS Gallant, she decided to accept and for the first time in her life and her career. Temetti was parted from her husband. |
