Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Meslina is a normal Trill with the exception that she has not gone through the joining process but has had the honors of being chosen for it but for personal reasons decided against the ceremony, however that does not mean that she will always be without one. She is slightly easy going but can be very strict when the situation calls for it, also once she gets used to a person she can be a honest and loyal friend. Meslina also has a higher sense of discipline than most of her fellow officers and takes the chain of command very seriously. Meslina also is very well trained in hand to hand combat and has proven herself to be a dangerous foe when in close quarters. Meslina also doesn't like to talk about the fact that she choose not to go through the joining ceremony, as well as the death of her family to the raiders that had hijacked their shuttle as it was heading down to a planet for a diplomatic mission, which ultimately made her choose her career in the Federation. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | Languages: Trill, Basic, and a little Klingon from what she was taught from her master. Strengths: She is loyal to her friends, as well as organized with everything that she has (i.e. documents, schedules, etc.), she has had a lot of training with hand to hand combat and is one of the few people to come out on top of her class. She is a light sleeper so she can respond to emergencies more easily. Weaknesses: Being an only child she is used to getting her own way with certain things so she can be somewhat hard to deal with when it comes down to being a room-mate. She chooses not to go through the joining ceremony and is considered kind of an outcast by some of her people. |

| Personal History | Meslina was born on Trill on March 19th, 2353 on the earth standard calendar. Seeing the trouble that Lollen had during childbirth everyone decided that it would be best if they didn't try for another. Meslina grew up in a simple house with a loving mother and father who taught her most of what she knows about organization. Her father being a diplomat had to travel a lot but he made a point to make sure to read her a story every night before she had to go to bed, and her mother was a micro biologist which sometimes meant that she would not be able to do some of the things she wanted for Meslina. During her teenage years she was given a chance to join starfleet academy but declined for reasons only known to her. In her late teens she was also given the choice to join with a symbiotic life-form that the trills are known to do when they have passed all the test and ceremonies involved, but personal things and slight fear of the Symbiont she choose not to bond with it. By her mid twenties around the year 2377 she was already fully trained in hand to hand combat from a Klingon warrior who decided to retire on Trill with his step-daughter who became Meslina's closest friend. Later during one of her sparring days is when she received the news of her parents shuttle that had been hijacked by a group of raiders while on a diplomatic mission. After the loss of her parents Meslina made up her mind and joined up with the Federation and went off to Starfleet academy. Within 4 years she had graduated from the academy and went back to Trill to find that her old mentor had passed way from a rare illness that only a rare few Klingons get. She then made a point that she would not return to Trill again for a long time, though she still wasn't sure when that may be. She was reassigned to the USS Song of the East for the better part of a year and when the Song of the East went in for refitting, she was reassigned a second time to the USS Infinity. |
