Mission:
Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity / Starbase 62
Timeline: 0920Hrs - October 2nd, 2393
The Marines charged in and the battle started as the half dozen guards attempted to put up a defense as phaser blasts began to fly, Enyo quickly drew a small knife and as she launched herself into a forward roll, she launched the blade at one of the guards, the blade smashed itself into the young man's face, killing him outright. The firefight was swift and brutal as the marines pushed into the science wing, quickly pushing aside the security troops, as their bodies lay in the hallways and doorways, two of the marines began gathering the fallen security troops before they began stripping them of all of their gear and equipment, they then locked them into a storage room with no way out, effectively making them helpless.
Enyo smiled as she regarded the marines before her. "Status?" she inquired of the marines.
"We've taken the science wing skipper." came the response from 1st Lieutenant Rees. He was a young Bajoran man, fair of size and a gentle look about him, it was hard to believe that this was a man who knew combat as well as Enyo did, his family knew the Bajoran occupation well and they also had done their fair share of Cardassian blood-letting. "We're trying to gain access to the computer system now sir."
"Alright, jam all the doors and make sure nobody can get in here," Enyo commented softly. "I'm going to speak with our prisoner." as she slowly grinned before she went into the next room, she then closed the door behind her.
Meanwhile, back on the USS Infinity. Commander Duval regarded the tactical display with a rather suspicious look. "Skipper, these two ships... I know their Captains... They are of the old school type, not willing to engage in the usual harsh cruelty of an empire, these guys said they were protecting the honor of the Federation..." he paused. "Something isn't right..." he turned. "Alyssa, how long before the storm front passes?"
"About thirty minutes Commander." came the answer from the asian-looking human female, as she checked her readings. "The Federation ships shields are also down, same with the Starbase..."
Duval simply shook his head. "It does not matter," he commented in a light tone of voice. "We're running out of time," he commented. "Come on Vicky... Get on with it..." he thought to himself but T'Shaamet could sense his growing unease and frustration.
Meanwhile, back on the Starbase. Lieutenant Rees moved to the console and he found that it was locked down. "Alright, fine... Let's dance old girl." and with that, he sat down as he produced the equipment he would need to hack into the system. "Hundred and twenty million bit encryption mmm?" he rumbled. "Well now, this might be a challenge... " as he opened his tricorder. "Mmmm This is designed to prevent the Borg from hacking into the system."
One of the other marines regarded Rees with an air of disquiet. "Can you do it or not?"
"Guard the doorway... Let me work... I need space and time for this... I can't be rushed." Rees added with a glare at the offending marine in question. "Alright, alright... keep your panties on..." and with that, he moved away, giving Rees space an time he had demanded so he could work on the issues at hand.
Meanwhile, the marines were able to capture two scientists, one of them was a young woman and the other was a slender, balding older male. "Alright, come on you two... our leader has a few questions for you."
"I won't tell you anything..." the female said.
"I wasn't asking for anything. I won't be asking the questions either." the marine answered as he gently ushered them into the office where Enyo was presently looking over a dozen or so PADD.s "Hello, please have a seat... We're on a limited schedule. So I will come right to the point of why you are here." the attractive female explained as she had her knife in her left hand. "I hope you do not plan to argue with me on the matter but... My situation is quite literally life or death for the Empire."
"Go on?" The older male inquired. "How do you mean?" he asked, in a curious tone of voice.
"Don't tell her anything, she's a traitor-" the young woman indicated Enyo with her head since both her hands were tied behind her back.
"Guard..." Enyo screamed loudly, the door opened and in came two marines. "Take her outside and away from me, she is trying my patience. Muzzle her with all the other prisoners. I am certain they will enjoy her."
The middle-aged man said nothing as the young woman was hauled to her feet and she protested as she was dragged outside.
Enyo sighed softly. "I apologize... As I was going to say... the Empire succeeded in opening a gateway to another universe, they have sent three strikes against said reality. all of which have failed... and rather dismally, may I add.. Now, that reality has decided to come through and considering the havoc that my guys have caused on this starbase. I must wonder if we would be better off conquering the Empire for the betterment of all.?"
The bald man nodded. "I agree... Frankly, I'd like to see the Federation return... The empire has been a colossal failure, it abuses and debases its people in the name of fear and terror, it's own, rather than uplift them as the Federation once did."
Enyo slowly smiled. "I've heard this rhetoric from others," she commented.
"It is no mere rhetoric, my dear... There are many of us who would see the old Federation restored to her people."
There was a knock at the door. "Enter," Enyo called softly., the door opened and Rees stuck his head in. "Objective complete skipper. I got what we needed here."
"Fantastic," Enyo answered with a wide grin. "Then its time we were leaving... With our one prisoner," she commented. "I wish to speak with April Yamaguchi at length for she and I have much to discuss..."
"I had hoped you would release her... She is the leader of our movement..."
"What?" Enyo asked. "You are mad... She is a monster who would slaughter millions..." she commented evenly. "She tried to murder several of her own family members..."
"Yes, we know... But that was not April Yamaguchi... At least the April you knew... you see.. she was cloned and it was her clone who committed those actions... Which is why April decided to act... It took her long enough but at least she's willing to make an effort on the subject."
I would still speak with her, once I am done, I will drop her off in space with the shuttle we are going to liberate. Failing that then we'll leave her in an escape pod." Enyo answered evenly. "Might I have your name... So I know who I am releasing her to.?" she inquired further.
"My name is Jean-Luc." he answered. "I am... a concerned citizen," he added.
"Very well," Enyo answered. "But I want words with her... Look for her somewhere in the Havers Astriod drift. I will tag a distress call with her name on it." she rose to her feet. "I am sorry but she and I must resolve our familial dispute."
"Very well Ms. Yamaguchi... I will wish you luck." and with that, she went out the door and gathered her marines. "Status?"
"We're ready to depart..."
Yamaguchi sighed as she tapped her combadge. "Lightning, this is Thunder, Status?"
"The Starbase is in chaos, we have our ride and we're waiting for you." came the response from Colonel James McTaggert who had come with her for this operation.
"Nice. beam, us and one prisoner over." Enyo answered.
