In the Chaos of War - Part Two

Posted on Fri Jan 1st, 2021 @ 1:53pm by Captain April Yamaguchi & Commander Victoria 'Enyo' Yamaguchi & Commander Ethan "Hardcase" Duval & Lieutenant Commander Ouros Yamaguchi

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity / Starbase 62
Timeline: 0915Hrs - October 2nd, 2393

Commander Victoria Yamaguchi led her twenty-four or so marines down the hallway, she smiled as she watched the starbase crew all panicking as they fled, her call to abandon the station had yet to be countermanded and the fact that it wasn't indicated that the starbases com system was down, most of that was due to the ion storm but much of that was due to Enyo's handiwork in the fact she simply shut down the com system. She turned as the marines hugged the walls, trying to look inconspicuous and yet, they were still failing in the matter. McTaggert followed in silence, along with the others, he had been impressed with Enyo thus far and he would continue to follow her orders, even though he outranked her.

Enyo narrowed her eyes as she regarded the hallways before her when she realized she needed to be on level twelve fifty, not level five as she turned and went down the hallway towards one of the larger cargo transporters which she knew was closer to the Starbase central core, her marines followed in silence in her wake. Upon reaching her destination, Enyo tapped the turbolift call button as she settled in to wait for the turbolift. She began to wonder if there was a Robert Connor in the reality she had come to call home and if there was, what sort of a man he was, was he anything like the Rob Connor that she had known?. Was he a decent man?, The doors opened as Enyo banished the thought to the back of her mind where it belonged. "Science wing," Enyo commanded as her marines all filled into the large turbolift car, in silence.

Meanwhile, outside the Starbase, there were over three dozen starships of various types and they were as yet, completely unaffected with the issues on the Starbase, Ouros regarded the display as she noted that one of them was a Pathfinder class battleship and two Excaliburs, most of the rest were midsized ships like the three Galaxy-class Ships and the two Insignia-class ships. "Mmm... What are you all here for?" Ouros mumbled to herself. She had a really bad idea as to why these ships were all arranged here and some of them were ships she recalled from her prior service here like the ISS Ojai, an Akira class ship which tended to escort supply convoys and the ISS Stonehawk, an older Excelsior class ship which tended to handle things like border patrol. Ouros frowned. "Something's wrong here..." she muttered to herself. "That's the ISS Stallion and that's... the ISS Raptor. I know those two ships," she muttered ever so softly, more to herself than anyone else.

"Something wrong Captain?" the pilot asked her, interrupting her thought processes.

"That's an oddly large fleet to be deployed here for no simple reason," Yamaguchi commented to the pilot. "Six capital class ships and two dozen others of various types, we might have a problem."

"Lovely." the pilot answered. "Is the transporter ready?" he inquired of the two marine engineers who had been assigned to this Runabout, specifically for this job.

"The backup plan is prepared." one of the marines answered the pilot's unspoken question with his own. "Can we beam someone to the science wing?" Ouros asked.

"Not unless the transporter is liked in series to us. That Ion storm will cause serious traumatic damage to anyone who tries beaming through it." came the response from the pilot. He let out a sigh as he did so. "So... I can't warn Enyo she might be walking into a trap." she paused as she frowned, suddenly recalling something. "Wait, hold it... Those ships aren't from the Warhawk camp... These guys are the more peaceful types... So either they are here for something god... or something very very bad..."

"Wait, hang on a second... How could you know that?... What, did you serve with these guys or something?" the pilot asked, clearly oblivious to her history or her record.

"Yeah," Ouros answered evenly. "I served on three of those ships to be precise." the larger female explained evenly. "We might be here to witness something good... or a massacre," Yamaguchi explained.

The pilot looked confused. "I don't follow Captain... Some details please?" he asked of her.

"Those are Imperial ships yes... But they are the more peaceful types, they won't fire on civilians and they won't start stupid shit for no reason..." Yamaguchi explained.

"So as long as we don't do anything retarded, we'll be fine..." the pilot answered. "How long till the Ion storm passes?"

"About forty minutes or so." came the answer from the mission specialist.

"Okay, so we need to sit back and wait for our guys to call for extraction if needed." Yamaguchi paused. "Do you have locks on the strike force?"

"I got locks on every last one of them, so long as the base shields go down... So long as the storm is raging, they can't raise them." the mission specialist answered. "When I beam them all up, I will only be able to materialize eight at a time... But I can get all forty-eight marines in one go."

"Good," Yamaguchi answered as she returned her attention to the tactical display.

Meanwhile, the turbolift car opened and Enyo emerged from the turbolift car, her marines following in silence when she spotted her cousin moving through the same hallway at her, she turned to her marines and indicated in hand signals that she wanted that person disabled, drive off or stun anyone else. The marines obliged as they opened fire on the small group of people, stunning people left and right.

April heard the phaser fire as she spun around, while she did so four stun bolts all connected with her, knocking her down and beating the air from her lungs, as silence and blackness took her, all she could think was 'I've been denied again!' as the marines quickly subdued everyone present, one of the larger marines picked up their prisoner in silence before the gathering moved into the science wing.
