Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity
Timeline: 0910Hrs - October 7th, 2393

Commander Walking Bear grinned as she had a feeling that she knew exactly what Commander Kayden Nell had in mind. "Nell... Lumbering and slowly?" she called over to him.

"Please Heather, make us look like we're out of our league..." Commander Kayden Nell said back to her, he would miss the helmswoman down at the conn, he had wanted her as his new executive officer when he departed the Infinity for his command but this would part her from her husband and children, he was not keen on doing much but he decided that he would at least make her the offer and see what happened. If worst came to worst then he would be no worse off then when he started. He regarded the display before him while he tapped the panel before him. "Targeting weapons platforms..." he commented as the Bajoran grinned.

The infinity slowly moved forward before launching off several missiles at the first weapons platform, the warheads all impacted and shattered the platform, the remaining platforms all targeted the Infinity before opening fire. The warheads all impacted on Infinity's shields except their bleed-through effects did little because the heat dissipation rate of Infinity was several times higher than that of the Guardian despite Infinity being an older ship which had been refitted up to state of the art.

T'Shaamet regarded the tactical display. "Nell... I think you got their attention... Could I ask you to be a little less subtle?" she inquired of him.

"Aye Captain... Targeting al the remaining weapons platforms now..." Kayden answered with a nod of his head.

Infinity almost seemed to slip off the mask that she had been wearing as she cut loose with most of her heavy weapons all at once, half of the missiles were directed against the weapons of the Starbase, which was an older Regula class Starbase but its size and mass meant it had to be taken seriously, all of the rest were sent against the weapons platforms, all of which were turned into molten metal fireballs in one savage strike. Infinity then launched another salvo, this one battered down the Starbase shields and managed to land several hits against the hull.

T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Status?"

"We have control of the orbital space now. Captain." Temetti reported from science.

"Good. Start beaming down our troops." Sarah Horner ordered from the Exec's chair, on the right side of the Vulcan woman who was half her size.

"Passing the word now," Amakawa reported from Operations. "The Starbase is deploying small craft and its two Starships to engage us."

T'Shaamet turned her head. "Kell, deal with them... Try to not kill them if you can," she mentioned.

"Aye Captain." The Bajoran went to work while the orbital; space around the Infinity exploded with the force of hundreds of small explosions due to small warheads reaching their preprogrammed range before detonating in proximity to enemy targets. Many of which fell to the fire of the Infinity's guns.

The two larger Starships moved into range and began opening fire as if teasing the Infinity with their range and firepower, as one errant warhead smashed into the shields of the lead ship, which lit them up blue for a moment as the shield systems tried to disperse the energy inflicted. This effect was noticed as another half dozen warheads smashed into the lead ship, battering down her shields and shattering her nacelles, reducing her to a smoldering hulk, the second ship moved out of the way of the first and began throwing everything she had that wasn't nailed down at the Infinity. The return fire was just as brutal. Quickly incapacitating the ship and her efforts to stop the Infinity.

T'Shaamet turned to Horner. "Let's try the Starbase again..." she commented. "What's their status?"

Kolar turned his head. "Their shields are slowly being restored. At a rate of two percent every two seconds," he explained.

Temetti raised an eyebrow. "Half of their weapons are down and they have four hull breaches... But they can repair whatever we throw at them... Especially over time," she explained.

Walking Bear turned her head. "We have to hit them, now!"

Kayden Nell raised an eyebrow. "I need another ten second before I can toss another full salvo at the base... Weapons are still being reloaded..." he paused. "Ready skipper."

"Make 'em scream," T'Shaamet answered. Nell pressed several buttons as hatches opened and several dozen missiles exited their tubes and began flying towards the Starbase while Infinity was busy blasting away with her phasers. The phaser strikes had the effect of dimpling the shields and when the ordinance strike arrived, it broke the shields and over sixty missiles smashed into the Starbases armour plating, opening large gashes on the hull as Infinity began methodically targeting the bases weapons emplacements, destroying them while she had time. She was able to polish off over forty weapons emplacements before the base shields were restored.

"They only have two missile launchers and four phaser arrays," Amakawa reported as she nodded her head.

"Targeting with phasers." Kayden Nell answered as Kolar assisted him with his targeting. "Now three... correction, two.. and one... Now, none..." he commented as an errant warhead that had missed its mark, smashed into the Starbase hull armour, but most of the energy splashed against the Starbase shields, which while heavily weakened, was still present.

"They ain't coming back from this..." Walking Bear commented from Conn.

"Not for several weeks..." Kayden Nell answered evenly as he smashed the last two weapons emplacements. "The Starbase has now been fully pacified," he reported.

Amakawa turned her head. "The base is signalling their surrender," she reported.

Horner nodded her head as T'Shaamet turned to her. "Resume the ground attack number one. Conquer for me, that world."

"You got it skipper." as Horner tapped her combadge. "All marines, prepare for drop."
