T'Shaamet rose to her feet, she then went over to the wall monitor, before she activated it. "We are to proceed to Starbase Vanguard, where we will resupply, taking whatever we need to get this assignment done. We will be taking on three officers who will be assisting us for the duration of this assignment." she paused. "Commanders Ethan Duval, Victoria Yamaguchi, and Ouros Yamaguchi, I am told the two are only second cousins so they won't cause the same usual issues that personel sharing the same family name will usually cause," she explained. "I have the option to replace you Sarah for this assignment, as you've been offered the Enin-Sd, based at Vanguard," she answered evenly. "There are a lot of other ships based at Vanguard who require commanders so anyone who wants one, stick your name in now." the small Vulcan explained evenly. "Alright, we've been assigned to the task of dealing with this alternate reality assignment, we're going to go through and take care of three objectives... The first is to obtain information on how the gateway is formed, what's holding it up and how to collapse it without harming the fabric of our two universes." she paused. "Then we've been asked to go to New Halana and retrieve a massive amount of data on the people there, its to help our Halanan species prevent their own extinction and the last is to rescue several dozen to several hundred political prisoners. Two primary objectives and one secondary objective." the Vulcan explained. "Questions, comments?"
Horner was the first to answer to both. "What of the prime directive?"
"They started this conflict with us," T'Shaamet answered. "We're going to work to resolve this issue if we can but we have to accept that we can't. For whatever reason." she paused. "I'd like to find a peaceful solution, if it presents itself, we will consider it but we will simply go about our three objectives, at which we will then withdraw through the gateway and then seal it behind us."
Walking Bear regarded the information she was being told as she sighed softly. "This sounds like one of those loose-loose situations, no matter what, we'll still lose." she then shrugged, "Either way, it won't matter to me."
"That's rather dramatic, don't you think?" Smithson inquired, as she regarded the younger female before her.
"No, the first rule of making peace is that its a peace both sides can live with permanently." Walking Bear answered with a nod. "These guys don't seem like they wish to even make the effort to try and live with us. So we will oblige by withdrawing from their space and letting them carry on with life without further influence from us."
"What if we can't?" came the expected response from an unexpected source, the Caitian female was sitting forward. "Sapata M'Herris blinked her large eyes as she regarded the table before her. "The worst-case scenario is that we can't do this and they keep coming."
"An apt question, if there was another way to severe the connection between worlds," T'Shaamet answered evenly. "Alas, we've tried."
"Alright, so we'll go through, complete all three directives as requested and then withdraw, using the information from directive one to fulfill our primary goal, sounds simple enough..." Kayden Nell answered in clipped tones. "When do we go.?"
"Tomorrow morning, local time. I know it's not a lot but its all command can spare for us, the USS Charal will be coming along to our side of the gateway and they will be acting as our support." T'Shaamet answered. "If all goes well then we won't need them but if we do then they will come and recover us and then they will take over from wherever we leave off while we fix the mess the other reality caused." the small Vulcan female paused a moment. "If I know Admiral Lasky, he is already taking steps to prevent such an occurrence," she added before she turned to Walking Bear. "How long until we arrive?" the small Vulcan female asked.
"We should have arrived in the system well before now. We should be arriving at the Starbase in a little under ten minutes tie, at which point we will dock with one of the orbital drydock frames."
Horner nodded her head. "We will then resupply and re-equip as needed, hopefully, our three passengers will be ready to board at that time."
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "Alright, then tomorrow morning we will go and get underway..." the small Vulcan explained. "It'll be two days to the portal at warp seven. I intend to use that time well and ensure that this crew is all battle-ready." she paused. "Hopefully we won't need it but I'd rather be ready and not need it then need it and not be ready for it," she added as the small Vulcan looked around the table. "Help yourselves to the food guys, I'll only be throwing it out when you are all finished."
With that spell momentarily broken, the entire senior staff cleared both plates in almost record time, the Vulcan smiled as she began eating the doughnut in her mouth. When everyone was finished with their food and their drinks. T'Shaamet decided to end the meeting and with that, things were about to get rolling.
