Mission: Mission 41: The Changing of the Guard
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 0800Hrs - August 26th 2391

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi received the notification of what happened to Admiral Nechayev as she regarded the news for herself as a second notification came in from Division Admiral Carl 'Thunderhead' Patterson.

Torilla tapped the display before her as she regarded the message that came in. "Admiral?"

"Torilla, its good to hear from you... I assume you got the notice?"

"I did yes." Torilla nodded her head. "That's the only reason I'm talking to you."

"Your mission is being rescinded and you're also being reassigned back to Independent Fleet Operations effective as of Oh nine hundred, local time.. Which is in about an hours time."

"I see. thank you Admiral."

"I assume you shook down your ship and the like?" Patterson inquired.

"I have done so. yes." Yamaguchi replied with a smile. "The Engineers really knew what they were doing.."

"Nice." Patterson responded. "In any case.. You'll be serving with IFO for the foreseeable future... and contact your family. I have it on good authority that they are worried about you." he explained. "So I'm going to have you haul a consignment to Cantrel V in the Taurus Reach."

"Alright... Thanks... So whats happening with Admiral Nechayev?"

"Admiral Nechayev has been arrested on various charges, conduct unbecoming, false imprisonment and torture along other various allegations."

"Lovely.." alright.. we're on our way." Torilla responded. "Anything else sir?"

"No. thats it." Patterson responded. "Thank you.."

"Alright. I'll go brief my people and I'll see you soon." Torilla terminated the message before she rose to her feet. "All Senior Staff, please come to the Conference lounge for briefing in ten minutes..."

Ten minutes later Torilla looked around at the assembled senior staff who were all sitting in chairs around the table as she ordered herself a cup of coffee and a doughnut before she took a seat at the head of the table. "Okay guys. our mission has changed.. Our original mission is rescinded and we have been re-tasked with going to Starbase 47 and picking up a consignment of supplies to go to Cantrel V." she explained. "Now normally this would be a two year journey, even with our top speeds so I want to fire up the slipstream drive and use it to shorten our journey... we need to shake down those systems anyway.."

Javier Morales raised an eyebrow. "When did this happen?"

"Fifteen minutes ago I got the call from Admiral Carl Patterson." Torilla briefly explained what was said and then she dropped the hammer. "Admiral Nechayev has been arrested on various charges, false imprisonment, torture and abuse.. she's going to jail... probably going to be for the rest of her life." she sighed. "Which means the lot of us here... are in trouble... we might get reassigned back to where we all came from and I will probably lose this command."

"Aww thats just bullshit" Rachael Falanner responded.

"No. Its not..The regulations mandate an investigation into Nechayev's recent orders to people.. we could be used by her as an escape option or as her shit birds." Torilla sighed. "Or worse... for now however we'll carry on as if nothing is wrong because while Nechayev assigned us all here.. We made this ship and her crew into what she is."

"Yes." Thel Vadum'ee responded. "Let Starfleet JAG and the investigators cut their way to the heart of this infestation and cut it out with burning blades... we are not tainted and we will not fall before this infestation..."

"I couldn't have said it any more dramatically myself big guy." Nicole Vollen smiled. "Besides.. it could be worse right... I mean we were all assigned here with Admiral Nechayev's blessing."

"Yeah... for whatever good that means to us." Morales commented dryly.

"Do not trouble yourselves with the affairs of foolish and retarded people." Them Vadam'ee commented quietly. "Nechayev assigned us all here for... what?" he inquired. "There has to be a purpose behind it."

"It's academic in any case... Because she's been arrested and disgraced. All of her most recent orders and requests are going to be examined, this ships assignment has already been canceled and wen't been reassigned back to Independent Fleet Operations." Yamaguchi explained. "Admiral Patterson told me that himself... before I came put onto the bridge and had us head for Starbase 47 and bring our slipstream drive online.." as she indicated the colorful display outside the viewport. "So far it seems to be working rather well."

Rachael Falannar smiled as she regarded her new skipper. "Well sir... We did take the time to work out the kinks in the system before we brought it online."

"Excellent. Fine work... " Yamaguchi responded. "To all of you... we might not be able to stay here... but if we are reassigned... know that I will miss serving with you all... you all have done fine work in the most stupid of circumstances... and I'll let you know if that changes... questions?."

There were none as everyone kept their silence.

"Alright. dismissed."
