Unrest in the Klingon Empire

Mission: Mission 59: Stirrings of Treason
Location: Various Locations - Roanoke Battlegroup
Timeline: 0700Hrs - January 8th, 2392

Teval walked out of his ready room, tired, having been woken up in the middle of the night by some rather serious news. Teval looked at the ops officer on duty, saying. "contact all the captains of the battlegroup, as well as Zara Tane and Tom Lasky, I have some news to deliver. Have them all come to Roanoke's conference room."

Lt Commander Jordal Hunt turned his head, taking note of the tone of the skipper. "Consider it arranged skipper." he responded

Teval nodded, then went into the ready room waiting for the various captains to come in.

The door opened and in walked the Capellan. Captain Neban Hular as he smiled. "Hey guys.." he commented as Lasky followed him through the door.

Commander Marcus Duval showed up a moment later before being followed by a pregnant Bolian female. "I'm not late. good." Siaxx Dvald-Sullivan smiled.

Following her was the pregnant Vulcan named L'Ruan and entering behind her was the Halanan female who used to be Exec on the Roanoke. Captain Torilla Yamaguchi.

Next up was Commander Telios Wintersnow and next to her was Lt Commander Michelle Kataguchi.

Torilla took a seat as some others were already seated but others were helping themselves to refreshments from the replicator. The door opened and in walked a middle aged Caitian female named Siranna since most couldn't pronounce her actual name, followed by Commander Marissa Cartwright.

Torilla wondered what had happened to bring all of the skippers from the entire battlegroup into the one room as a smaller human female slipped into the chair next to Torilla. "Hey." Talon greeted her wioth a gentle smile. "How are we doing?"

"'We are doing well." Torilla responded as the various remaining skippers all filled in, the last bunch were from the destroyers.

Teyo took a Seat near Torilla, Zuko next to him, and akaris next to Zuko.

Zara entered and took the next available seat, eating an apple as she took in the room of people around her.

Once Zara got in the room Teval then reported. "I just got some news from the Klingon Empire. On December 27th, the Enterprise-E and the Klingon battleship Bortasque went missing, on board was chancellor Martok. Yesterday, Emperor Kahless was assassinated, and as of 0600 this morning, a man known as Chancellor Ku'tor has closed the Klingon borders and have withdrawn their ambassadors to all other nation-states. According to starfleet intel, there has been a lot of unrest in the Klingon empire, and the possibility of a civil war is brewing."

Torilla and Talon shared a look. "What... the... fuck.." Talon muttered softly.

"So we're what? Sitting on our thumbs?" Zara asked with annoyance. "Please tell me we got sneaky boots on the ground there."

Torilla looked around as she saw the reactions in the room. "I honestly have no idea." she admitted.

Talon paused. "We didn't see this coming?"

Teval answered Zara's question first. "If we have intel assets in Klingon space then starfleet command did not see fit to inform me, but either way, I am prior intel, I know we have people there. Either way, Starfleet has said that 'no we are not to do anything about the situation right now', just that we need to be on a higher alert than normal, just in case the Klingon's decide to launch a surprise attack. We do have ships being redeployed to the border, but our battlegroup is to continue with its normal mission, but with reinforced fighter and destroyer patrols throughout the system."

Torilla smiled as she took notes with a PADD she had brought with her. Meanwhile Talon nodded her head. "Are the Akurian forces present affected by this or is it starfleet only?" she inquired.

Wintersnow inquired. "Will any of our battlegroup assets be reassigned elsewhere?"

"I would assume not... but then knowing April as I do... She now has to move various assets around to compensate for this surprise... Nobody saw this coming." Torilla responded evenly. "I know I didn't.." she let out a soft sigh. "Anything else we should discus?" Yamaguchi inquired.

"I can't think of anything," Zara noted with a shrug.

L'Ruan blinked her eyes as she regarded the crowd. "I think we can at least expect some Klingon attention here and in several of the adjacent sectors.."

Teval nodded," That's why we are going to be more active with around the clock destroyer and EWAC fighter patrol's, just in case they decide to show up here."

Neban nodded his head. "I did order extra stores for the battlegroup so I'll be going to collect those in a day or so.. I will require one escort to go with me. Just... in case."

Siranna nodded her furry head. "I will detail one destroyer to go with you."

"Thank you. I'll be gone for about thirty six hours.." Hular responded with a smile.

Teval then finished with, "Well that's all I have for you guys for now, I'll let everyone know when more information comes down."

"Right.... back to bed I go," Zara spoke with a yawn.

With that said, everyone began to depart the room as the meeting ended.
