| Personal History | Commander Marissa Cartwright was born in 2350 on Luna. Her father was a civilian artist who was often working on commission and her mother was a local politician, she was often campaigning for better living conditions for the downtrodden and the like and while she made progress, she was often hobbled by the fact that she didn't have a lot of tact. This was also something she gave to his daughter. Melissa made carefully plans for her children when they joined Starfleet and her children began to stray from them, none more so then Marissa as she went in as a tactical officer and not a science officer as her mother wanted, well rather demanded. Marissa simply ignored her mother's issues and demands before she poured all of her time, energy and effort into the workload before her, this allowed her to graduate several months earlier then usual as she skipped all of her leaves. Her first assignment was on the USS Oakland, a Nebula class starship and she spent the entire Dominion War assigned here. The most interesting event in her life also happened here in that she met the man who would become her future husband. Marissa followed Todd over to the USS Boston where she took over as Chief Security officer. The USS Boston was based from Starbase 73 so she made her home on the starbase with her husband and children. Her mother refuses to speak with her because she felt that Marissa ignored her wishes on various matters which doesn't bother Todd or his wife in the last. In 2390 she was offered command of the USS Shimakaze. One of the new Merin class destroyers which he accepted, she knows she won't see much of her husband or her children but she makes do with what she has. Marissa considers the USS Shimakaze as one of her favored assignments while being assigned to the Roanoke's battlegroup. In October 2391. Marissa was offered reassignment from her current posting to the USS Comet, assigned as the new destroyer leader for the Roanoke's battlegroup, she accepted and off she went. |
