Mission: Mission 89: An Irresistible Force
Location: A Classified meeting room - Location unknown
Timeline: May 24th, 2392

Ukia Erivai sighed, wondering why nevanzi volunteered her for this job. Granted she knew why, due to his presence on the front line, he couldn't be pulled away, however it didn't mean the Clouded leopard like Leokuri liked the task of meeting with high ranking Starfleet officials. So she and the smaller fox-like kurokuri Kasana, the one who proposed this crazy plan, followed a young Starfleet lieutenant who led them to the classified briefing room. There they walked in, and the lieutenant left, leaving the two Akurians in the briefing room, both of them the first arrivals.

General Thomas Walther walked into the room, he looked left and then right as he took in the scene at a glance. "Well.. this is gonna get interesting in a major hurry."

Following him was an old friend of his family. Fleet Admiral Julia Antilles-Yeager who greeted Walther with a gentle hug. "Hey, Tom."

"Julia. you look as lovely as ever." Walther responded as he selected a seat around the table. Julia selected a chair next to him as the two proceeded to chat with each other about life while the third arrival came into the room. Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi who was conspicuous as the only pregnant officer in the room. She settled into a chair next to Tom Walther. "Hey, Tom."

"April... Hows the little ones doing these days?" Walther inquired of the pregnant woman before him.

"They are being very demanding of me," Yamaguchi responded evenly.

Antilles-Yeager chuckled softly. "I know what that's like... It'S been a few years for me though but my three youngest are more or less living well with their father who is newly assigned to command Starbase Sixty Seven with me commanding Alpha Quadrant based from there." Julia smiled happily.

"I hear that... Though in my case a lot of things are going to change... so any ideas what all the fuss is about?"

"I've got no idea.," Walther admitted. "Nobody is telling me squat." he then smiled a wide grin that looked downright cruel on his face. "I highly suspect that this is going to get deeply educational in the next ten minutes.."

Yamaguchi turned her head as she noticed the other arrivals entering the room in silence. "Tell me about it." she mused.

Antilles-Yeager raised an eyebrow. "I didn't think this was going to get this interesting." the older woman mused as Fleet Admiral Pasha Andreyev entered the room. The three Fleet Admirals all rose to their feet as he entered. Pasha regarded them. "Be seated... You don't need to stand up for me."

Yamaguchi smiled. "Protocol sir."

"When I get back to HQ. I'm going to do away with the formality that comes with me being me." he sighed. "I hate it.." as he proceeded to sit down in one of the chairs. The three of them all shared a look. "How high does this go?" Yamaguchi inquired.

Andreyev was the one who answered. "I have my guesses... All the way to the very top itself folks... I hope this was worth the price of admission.."

Antilles-Yeager smiled. "This... should be interesting."

Walther nodded in agreement as the door opened and in walked Admiral Greg Turner, he wore his uniform well and he was not wearing his whites either. Hey, guys... Tom... It's good to see you again."

Andreyev smiled. "You two know each other?"

Antilles-Yeager likewise looked more amused than anything else as she likewise settled in.

Walther sighed. "That was a long time ago... During the Dominion War. Greg saved the lives of every last man in my unit from a Breen ambush." he shrugged. "Cost us two quantum torpedoes and a Breen staging area.."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as Admiral Xavier Bell chuckled. "Morning guys and gals... I've not seen so much brass in one place in a very long time.."

Admiral Jake Grafton entered. "Hello...Oh wow... this is... gonna be good." he nodded to the assembled gathering.

Antilles-Yeager adjusted her position in her chair ever so slightly as she settled in for what was sure to be a long conversation as Turner sat down next to her on her left. Walther chuckled. "So... Greg. hows married life treating you?"

"I have no complaints... Miranda misses the kids..and they miss her.." Turner commented. "But she has her job and I got mine." he then shrugged.

The Tiger like Caitian Admiral Hursk Vetor was the next one to enter the room. she didn't like meetings like this and she had a sneaking suspicion they were about to have a very long day. So she took a seat on the opposite side of the table from the two Akurians.

Next to show was the newly promoted Myzar Zinov, whom just got himself promoted to a full Marshall thanks to the recent expansion of the fighter corps. Hursk looked up at the fellow caitian officer, "So how is your new branch doing."

Myzar sighed with relief, saying. "Well, thanks to the latest combat reports from our units engaged at Goronar, it looks like the drone units sent forward have finally seen success, and the Federation Council has approved funding for the expansion of the corps thanks to that program. Hence my new rank. If things go well, within a decade my branch will be as large as the marines."

Hursk nodded without replying.

Walther smiled. "It's about time we have a real combined arms force. I for one am glad to see an independent starfighter corps at last," he commented.

Antilles-Yeager looked at him, surprise written all over her face. "That's... not what I was expecting you to say."

Myzar took a seat next to Kasana. "Well, for now, I am just glad my branch isn't dying before even reaching a year old."

Next to show up was Kurso teska, who was rather unexpected given his assistant position in his department. Hursk was the one to ask," Um, Kurso, where is Brooks."

Kurso had a rather annoyed look. "He is unavailable, for reasons, so I am here instead."

Hursk breathed a purring sigh of relief, "Well, that's a relief, nice to know we get a competent Intelligence officer here instead of that blithering idiot Brooks."

The looks that many of the people had around the room was more or less the same, the condemnation was more or less universal that Admiral Brooks was a stool pigeon. "So who's all we're waiting for?"

"Looks like the civilians," Hursk growled impatiently.

"Whats got you annoyed," Myzar inquired.

"Brooks," Kurso replied in a low growl.

Hursks ears flattened in annoyance. "Yeah, that idiot. Not 2 hours ago, he came up with an idiotic proposal to go and hunt down section 31, which as you know, is a complete waste of time, but he intends to drag all of the Starfleet security down with him in his stupid wild goose chase."

Myzar facepalmed. Like most flag officers he had been briefed on the existence of 31, and most flag officers also understood that trying to hunt down 31 was generally a waste of time. But apparently, this concept was lost on Brooks.

The various Admirals all shared looks of surprise and incredulous looks. "What.... the... fuck?" Bell inquired. "Is he actually that retarded?" he added.

Antilles-Yeager laughed suddenly. "Wow. that's just... epic.."

Neither Hursk nor Kurso added anything else to the conversation and shortly afterward, the Federation President Zeyss Mu'Kar and the secretary of State Melayna Kurunda both walked into the room. Once they were both in Kasana asked April. "So is this everyone."

April nodded. "No. we're just missing one person," she responded as she and everyone else rose to their feet upon the appearance of the President of the United Federation of Planets.

A moment later the door opened and in walked a Borg Queen. She smiled as people looked at each other. "Wait.. what is this!" Bell demanded.

"This ladies gentleman... Is one of the reasons why we are all here." Yamaguchi answered quietly. "and yes... she is what she appears to be."

"Indeed... I apologize for my appearance, however, there hasn't been time to deassimilate me yet.." Rachael Yamaguchi explained before she took a seat at the table. "So... why is everyone staring at me?"

"Well. Umm... It's not every day a Borg Queen shows up for a chat." Turner commented as Walther raised his voice. "Okay people... calm down... I am sure there is a perfectly good explanation for this."

Rachael Yamaguchi nodded her head. "All will become clear shortly," she responded. "I am not here to cause harm... I am not your enemy."

Yamaguchi regarded the Queen in silence before she shifted her attention back to the gathering before her. "We have a fair bit of ground to cover here and time is a factor in this equation."

Neither Hursk nor Kuro were the least bit surprised, both of them had known about this development for some time, so neither sowed any reaction. Kurunda, who had been taken by complete surprise, looked at the two Starfleet officers who showed no reaction," Wait, you two knew of this."

Hursk looked up at the surprised Betazoid and the incredulous president, "Yes I did, and you would to if you had bothered to read my security report."

Kurunda shot Hursk a look but Hursk ignored her. Myzar glanced at Rachael with indifference, he too had been aware of this development, since he was at B Kayor when the cube showed up. So Myzar decided to move things along. "So, what is it that we are here for."

Kasana stood up, knowing she had a difficult task ahead of her. She had to figure out how to get the attention of a lot of flag officers and two politicians, Not easy for someone whom never even held a Starfleet commission. "well, What we are here for, as she pulled out a datapad, and connected it to the holotable in the room," Is we are going to deal with the Borg once and for all." She then brought up a hologram of her device that she had been working on for the past month. A massive deflector dish over a kilometer wide and connected to an equally massive Zero point energy chamber.

Walther raised an eyebrow. "The power requirements for that would be..."

"Stupid," Turner commented. "Is that .... like a superweapon...?" he inquired.

Bell raised an eyebrow. "If I'm seeing this right... That could breach the subspace domain of whatever location it's used at... causing a subspace rift.." he paused. "Wait... is that intentional?"

"No," Kasana answered. "You all are misreading the schematics. Though it can be modified to produce a subspace tear, in this case, that is not what it is meant to do. What this device can do, is it can create an artificial subspace sinkhole. We have run into natural ones before, the USS Roanoke encountered one about a year ago. But this device can be used to create one of these sinkholes, large enough to encompass an entire solar system, and accelerate that sinkhole to hear light speeds. Now the device is only good for one shot. The power system is based on an enlarged firing chamber from an Akurian Gamma Ray laser system, and once this thing is fired, it will destroy itself, but it will create the subspace sinkhole in the process."

"You're talking about... creating a subspace weapon..." Bell commented, suddenly horrified.

Words began to be shouted around the room like. "Unbelievable" and "Insane!"

April Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Maybe you should let Kasana explain all of the details before you start shouting her down."

Rachael Yamaguchi sighed before she brought her fist down onto the tabletop which caused several effects, the first was creating a loud enough noise to silence everyone present, the second was her putting a rather large dent into the tabletop but it was away from the holo-projection.

Turner blinked. "Well...that was different."

Grafton turned his head. "Send for security!"

"No," April responded before anyone else could. "Everyone please... remain seated.."

Walther raised an eyebrow as he was one of three people that didn't even move or react. "Please... continue with explaining your plan... I apologize for my comrades conduct..."

Kasana sighed in annoyance while Hursk asked. "OK. so this isn't intended as a subspace weapon, but to create a pocket in subspace, how is that supposed to help us defeat the Borg."

Kasana explained, "Well the intent is, we will fill that area with a ton of subspace jammers designed to break Borg communication systems, we will use a red matter device to accelerate the sinkhole to near light speed, so time dilation will cause time in the pocket to move about a thousand times slower than normal, then be using another device we will create a false signal that will indicate there is an omega particle in the pocket, and Rachael will then command all the borg collective to assimilate the omega particle in the subspace pocket. Once they are in there we will trigger the jammers, trapping the Borg. The Jammers will also be equipped with temporally compensated sensors and beacons, allowing us to beam out drones at will and deassimilate them. if it all goes well, in 5 years, less than a third of a day would have passed within that sinkhole."

Walther smiled. "I like this plan... It's going to be exciting," he commented with a wide grin. "If nothing else."

April Yamaguchi nodded. "This is... just insane... How is this even going to work?"

Turner paused as he processed all of the details. "Everyone in a thousand light years will see this surge of energy.." he paused. "You are insane...."

Rachael Yamaguchi nodded. "I've been called worse when I was still wearing your uniform young man," she responded in a dry tone.

"About that.." Bell inquired. "Why do this..?"

"Because the Borg are without leadership... I have already gifted you all of what the Borg are and will ever be... It's time to end their threat... forever..." she paused. "We do this right.. we end the greatest threat to the Federation that it's ever known."

Grafton shook his head. "The requirements for this won't work... you don't have the power.." he then shrugged. "What's the worst that could happen?"

Rachael Yamaguchi answered that one. "Well we basically violate the universe.." she paused. "Also creating one or many Omega molecules will be ... challenging."

April Yamaguchi paused. "Omega?... you're kidding me?"

Rachael shook her head. "It's bad enough I am calling to the Borg... But I must prove that I have Omega."

Even Kasana looked worried, saying to Rachael. "Rachael, we have to be absolutely careful if we try to make the real thing because if that particle destabilizes while it's inside the pocket, it could destroy the subspace pocket and force everything inside of it back into realspace, it would ruin our whole plan. and the Borg won't fall for the same trick twice."

Rachael raised an eyebrow. "I don't need the real thing... I just need it to be convincing." she paused. "An extremely high energy signature will be enough."

"Perhaps not even that," Hursk suggested. "All we need is some Boronite ore. if we can find Boronite ore, transplant it into this trap, that can be the bait."

Kasana asked. "Whats Boronite ore, and how do we find it."

Kurso was the one to explain. "Simply put, Boronite ore is actually a very heavy metal ore, such as uranium ore or other transuranic element ores, that has captured particles of subspace. The reason it is extremely rare is because the stuff only occurs in area's of high subspace instability. What happens is a uranium or trans uranium ore absorbs subspace energy, turning it into Boronite ore. The stuff is crazy radioactive and the half life is about 8 months, so unless you are an android or have crazy heavy radiation shielding, I wouldn't go near the stuff."

Rachael nodded her head. "I can handle it... My Borg shielding will protect me... I can ask some of my people to help me with this."

Turner raised an eyebrow. "But you are a Queen... I don't understand.."

"I am a Queen in function only," Rachael explained lightly. "My drone's are free... I gave them their freedom, especially the Starfleet officers who are among my drones.." she explained. "I have two million drones with me. The majority of those being Starfleet."

Suddenly, President Zeyss started laughing, and Kurunda looked at him with a horrified look. "How the hell can you be laughing, there is no way we can go with this crazy plan, it's insane."

Zeyss, still chuckling. "I know, and that's what I like about it." He then looked at all the admirals with a smile. "Alright, You have my stamp of approval, go for it."

Kurunda's jaw practically dropped to the floor, leaving her utterly speechless.

The various other Admirals all shared looks. "This plan is utter madness.." responded one.

Grafton nodded. "Yes. it's it... Frankly. I like it. We just need the ore... can we fake the signature?"

Rachael Yamaguchi paused. "If all else fails then ... I can make an attempt.."

Kasana shook her head. "No you don't need to, we have drones that can handle that."

"Alright.." Rachael paused. "I will see to it the Borg's backup database is turned over to the Federation within a week... is that satisfactory.."

"Completely." Pasha Andreyev spoke for the first time in the meeting. "What is in the database?"

"Everything the Borg have and know... It will assist your science in ways that I cannot imagine.." Rachael Yamaguchi explained.

"Very well. I will send a squadron to retrieve it from your ship then." Andreyev explained.

"Secrecy must be upheld. If this falls into hostile hands.. the damage will be disastrous." Rachael Yamaguchi explained.

"That much is obvious." Hursk Vetor commented, knowing her department was about to be busy for the next little while

Zeyss then announced. "Alright, well if that's everything, for Now, I say we take a break and come back in an hour. I take it we will be covering what we will be doing with the liberated drones right."

Kasana nodded. "As far as I Know."

The various Admirals all shared looks before they began standing up. April Yamaguchi sighed softly as she slowly heaved herself to her feet, having been almost hauled to her feet by a helping hand from General Walther. "Come on... Let's go for lunch.."

April smiled. "Sounds good... I am eating for three after all."
