"The kids will be safe with me, and it will help me with my problems." she knew she was getting a reprieve from missing her own babies by raising someone else. "It can still work guys, but you must be honest with each other. Ask yourselves this... Is this relationship what I want and need?" she asked bluntly. "-Can I live with the other person and not always argue and fight. Sometimes walking away doesn't work either but sometimes a little space is good. You, Nebris, need to figure out your shit because you running out of time. You are now a parent, you are a father and I do not want Hysre or T'Ree thinking that either of you gave up and ran away because it got hard... How do I feel?" Rachael was now starting to get angry with the two of them. "I miss my babies, I miss Anthony and Olivia, even though they drove me insane. I miss Saki who was way too god damned smart for her own good. I miss Daniel and Sarah, even though neither of them are mine by blood."

Tienn was much older than the smaller female before her and yet, she felt inadequate before Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen but before she could say anything, she let out a sigh. "Yeah." the older female felt so stupid and so ignorant.

"Yeah, you two 'Need' to sort out your issues. So I will take care of T'Ree and Hysre in your absence... What about your dogs?" Rachael inquired.

"No. I'll keep them with me," Tienn responded.

Nebris said nothing even though he had always felt threatened by the dogs. "They intimidate me," he admitted suddenly, in a hushed tone of voice.

Tienn turned her head as she looked at him. "Why didn't you say so?" she inquired. There was no malice in her town, only curiosity.

"I was not about to make a scene, I wasn't about to make you choose between me or them. That would be unfair and they would win, hands down," he explained. "Besides. It was their home and I was, at times, a guest." Nebris sighed softly. "They would growl at me every once in a while."

Tienn paused as she realized what was now the biggest issue between them and she felt so stupid, so ignorant that she had completely missed it. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "Dammit. Why did I see?"

"Because they were protecting you and protecting your children from what they saw as a threat." Rachael supplied the information. "I've seen how Grey Wind and Nymeria operate around mom. Nobody so much as looks at her funny with those two around. She doesn't mind the extra help with ferreting out the unworthy, the indigent and the stupid from her command. I have no doubt that she will bring that same level of skill with her when she goes to her next command." Rachael added. "They make good companionship, even if she has to share her overly sized bed with them both.

Tienn paused. "my sisters make their relationships look so easy." she sighed. "I feel so." she paused a moment. "Clueless and stupid."

Rachael felt a sudden surge of emotion, she quickly identified it as hatred and anger, mixed together as she regarded Tienn in silence as Nebris winced. "Rachael?"

"Yes," Rachael answered softly.

"You know everyone here felt that right," Nebris commented

"Felt what?" Tienn inquired but she had a terrible sense of foreboding.

"Do you not understand the first rule of relationships?." Rachael asked Tienn. "Out there, you are an officer and I am a warrant and I obey," she explained. "In here, we are all family and we help each other, we co-exist because we have to, I make an effort to get along with my sisters and brothers, with my mother and my father, all of us serve and we all work together to help each other with our problems," she explained in clipped, angry tones. "I had assumed that Nebris here, was still being his old self. That of a drunken party girl who couldn't accept responsibility for her own actions... I have watched him, by the way. I've seen him try to come to terms with what happened and with the changes to himself. I am proud of Nebris, to have endured and still continues to endure the direst of life-changing events, where he looks at himself in the mirror and he has little clue of what he is, let alone who he is."

Nebris was so astonished that he was speechless as Rachael's little offensive into the soviet union continued at pace. "I was rooting for him, I was hoping that he could reform himself successfully and become a full-time parent to two little children who need their dad... But if you can't make the choices and help him with what needs to be sorted out then I recommend you make room for someone else who can." Rachael was utterly ruthless and pitiless as she continued to hammer her points home, landing salvo after salvo onto Tienn's exposed armor plating,

Rachael turned to Nebris. "As for you, I recommend you have a sit-down... or several with Elizabeth. She actually makes for an excellent counselor and she is good at what she does. I've learned to listen to her, I might not like it but that is irrelevant. Seek her out and ask her to help you tomorrow while you are on duty. She will be of great help to both of you separately or together." Rachael explained.

Tienn nodded, now feeling utterly broken and ruined by the events of the past twenty minutes. "I... I should go."

"Go where?" Rachael knew that she had succeeded in getting through to Tienn. "There is nowhere to go. You need to figure out what you want before he walks... Which he has already done. You need to figure out things for yourself... and the first rule of relationships is that you must communicate. No half-assed measures, no uncertainty, no games, no guesswork. If you got something to say then you say it, you say it in the strongest terms you can manage. If that's not possible. Then you try with reason. If that's not possible then you try again with logic and if that doesn't work then you try again with some tact. You do not get to lose your temper because of a failure to communicate. You do not get to ignore his point of view... Which you have been doing..." which is what she very nearly shouted at Tienn.

"What?" Nebris answered, the surprise clear in his tone of voice.

"Oh, I know everything," Rachael responded in a tone that meant the person she was addressing deserved neither her affection or her respect. "I know everything that happens planetside, for some reason I seem to have a face that people want to share things with. Its because I am trustworthy. I hear all. You haven't done a good job of being a good girlfriend to him as being a full-time mother is a major distraction, I know better than most, but you still don't try to make this work. So... I will still take in your two babies and resolve one of your three major issues in a single move." Rachael regarded Tienn with her dark eyes that were pitiless and ruthless at the same time. "I want you to take a class or two on how to a parent. How to change nappies, how to feed and care for children. While I am looking after these two... I want you both, to work on your issues." and with that she turned and stomped off, steam coming out of her ears.

Nebris sighed softly. "Come on, let's go eat."

Tienn nodded, though she no longer had any sort of appetite for any kind of food, whatsoever.
