| Personal History | Gabriel was the second child born to Torilla and Jake Yamaguchi, he was born on June 25th, 2367, His birthplace was Starfleet Academy, On Earth. Gabriel grew up as a happy child but his first couple of years of life was spent being looked after by his grandfather on Earth while his parents went off to fight the Dominion, their Cardassian and later their Breen allies in the Dominion War. When the war ended, he along with his elder sister were returned to their parents, now stationed aboard the USS Courageous with Jake commanding her. He grew up here calling the USS Courageous home, he watched his mother leave as she had to go and deal with her family business, she returned over a year later as this angry and bitter woman. For the next few months he was angry and confused as he didn't understand why his mother whom he was close to had to leave, it took Jake quite some time to explain to his children exactly what was going on with their mother, he didn't shy away from using complicated words or sugarcoating things as some did, no. he shared it all with them. Torilla Yamaguchi had been exiled from her world and it took Gabriel a while to process the implications, he learned to hate the Halanan people for what they did to his mother. It was a hatred that he would never forgive or ever forget, but while that said, he also didn't let it detract from his life or anything else he was doing but that in itself took a lot of work and it still takes a lot of effort. A few years later, along came their third sibling, Rachael and while he and Elizabeth were happy to have a third playmate, they also had to contend with their mother leaving to further her own career in Starfleet but she was in touch almost every night from wherever she was located. The family was reunited when the USS Courageous was home-ported at Starbase 45 and as luck would have it, their mother was stationed here along with one of their aunts and a couple of their cousins to boot. As the years rolled by, Elizabeth went off to the academy first while Gabriel followed a year later, it was here when he met his wife, Savannah Desmoulin. She was an orphan and the two took their time getting to know each other. Gabriel wanted to know if he had the Halanan medical issues so he made arrangements to check and sure enough, he did so he decided not to rush into any sort of relationship, it was around this time that he and Savannah went on vacation for a few days while the Academy was in spring break, he learned a few things about Savannah because an old boyfriend was stalking her. Gabriel dealt with her stalker, thanks to his training and a few friends from Starfleet security, it also earned him a great deal of respect from Savannah as she realized that was much more to Gabriel then what she first assumed. It wasn't until their third year at the academy when they had sex for the first time after they were both sure of what they wanted, their relationship by now was very strong, what she didn't realize was that she was pregnant. They got married at the end of their second year and midway through their third year, she learned she was expecting. She and Gabriel were going to become parents. A year later while they were early into the forth year at the academy, Savannah gave birth to her first child, a son that she and her husband named Gideon. It was a big help that Savannah got along very well with Gabriel's extended family as they regarded this orphan who was alone as one of them. All good things must come to an end and so it was with the academy, as Gabriel and Savannah both graduated with honors and were assigned together to the USS Shield of Vega. A Galaxy Class ship under the command of an unusual woman named T'Nae. a Vulcan without logic. Gabriel was extremely happy after finding out around New Years of 2391 that he was going to be a father for the second time, after the medical concerns and issues that he had his wife had been dealing with for years, when he and his wife had both been promoted then they were reassigned to the USS Rowling as one of their Tactical Officers. he had heard a lot of stories about this particular ship, some good and some bad, he was looking forward to making his own mark on this assignment. After being assigned to the Rowling, Gabe became the proud father of twins when his wife gave birth to Arlene and Nicolle Yamaguchi. Also, he was present for Siaxx and Phoenix's wedding alongside the rest of his family, also he was around for the beating of his sibling at the hands of Tienn Iteela, but his wife convinced him to let it go and let JAG handle matters. Torilla also had to talk her son down from taking revenge for what Tienn did to his sister, as beating members of his family doesn't sit right with him, no matter what the reason, he made it clear that he was sick of people beating on Elizabeth and this was the third time now since the two had joine Starfleet. When USS Rowling went in for refitting from Carrier to Cruiser, he was reassigned to USS Spirit of Winter, one of the new Century class ships now entering service as their new Chief Fire Control officer. Now he resides on Spirit of Winter with his wife and family beside him. That was before he was reassigned to Starbase Vanguard because he refused to leave his wife and children. |
