Mission:
Mission 45: Dust and Echoes
Location: Various Locations - USS Clydesdale
Timeline: 1400Hrs - October 16th, 2391
Commander Telios Wintersnow was seated in her ready room, her tail was curled around her left hip as she sighed softly, the light glinted off of her horns which curled up and backwards from her head.
She placed the PADD that she was working on into the 'DONE' pile before she sat back in her chair. "Ahh... nothing to do now for the next hour... I'm gonna take a nap."
Telios was suddenly thankful that she was wearing a skirt as she shifted her position on the sofa, curling her legs beneath her as she took a few moments to make herself comfortable, she dimmed the lights and closed her eyes.
Telios dozed for about five minutes before the com system beeped at her. "Captain... You're wanted darling" came the voice of Kristen McKnight.
Telios opened one eye. "Oh Number one... Must you torment me so?."
"Of course." the fortyish human woman responded. "I got off on it."
Telios sighed softly. "I question your taste in sexual habits at this time... what is it?"
"The Admiral would like a moment of your time. I have her on channel three... marked for you."
"Tell her I've gone fishing.."
McKnight sighed. "She's not letting me have it.."
Telios sighed as she sat up. "Computer, lights to normal." she quickly adjusted her uniform so she didn't look like she had been napping on the job before she tapped the display before her. "Admiral?"
"Catch you at a bad time?" April smiled.
Telios sighed softly. "Nothing overly major Admiral."
"Good... Because I'm about to ruin your day" April Yamaguchi responded.
"Oh?" Telios responded. "How so Admiral?"
"Because I'm reassigning you and your crew from the Clydesdale to a new ship. the USS Prinz Eugen."
Telios perked up almost instantly. "She's Sovereign class... Nice Admiral.."
"Thats... not the response I was expecting from you."
"Oh?" Telios inquired "And why... pray you tell me... is that?"
"So far today, I've had to deal with an irate Vulcan, an unhappy human, another human who has not been laid in far too long and now you."
Telios raised an eyebrow. "Me... but I did nothing Admiral."
"Yet." April responded. "Nothing yet... anyway, come on over and I will escort you to your new command."
"That sounds good Admiral. I will be right over."
"Very well. Yamaguchi out." and the screen went black as Telios stood up, she exited her ready room. "Exec, inform the crew that we are being relocated to another ship."
Lt Commander Kristen McKnight raised an eyebrow as she peered at her skipper. "Oh?" the fortyish something woman responded. "and when is this happening?"
"Today. Once I get back from the Admirals office."
"Lovely." McKnight responded. "I'll inform the crew."
"Please, the ship is yours... for as long as she's ours." and with that Telios turned and departed, heading down to the transporter room, arriving at her destination moments later as the Admirals adjutant, Lieutenant Toby Greenfield nodded. "Go on in sir, she is expecting you."
"Thank you." Telios responded before going into the Admirals office.
"Admiral?"
April Yamaguchi was standing behind her desk as she was looking out the large viewport behind her desk. "It never gets old Commander."
"No sir... It does not." Telios moved to stand beside the younger human woman as she regarded the red and blue nebula fields visible. "Well... We'd best get get on with it."
"Indeed sir." Telios responded as she followed the human woman out of her office and over to the Operations transporter padd, moments later the two women were in a hanger as April approached a shuttle. "I've never understood the need to fly someone out to their new command.... rather then just beam over."
"Its tradition." April responded evenly. "People have been doing it for centuries and why should we be any different.?"
"You make a good point." Telios responded evenly.
April sat down in the pilots chair as she quickly went about powering up various systems. "You ready to go?"
"I am as ready as I will ever be." Wintersnow responded.
"Alright." April went about obtaining and then getting clearance, with that in hand the shuttle departed the hanger. April flew the shuttle effortlessly, in some cases better then experienced pilots.
A few minutes later the shuttle had landed in USS Prinz Eugen's aft hanger bay and the two stepped out to find the crew assembled in neat rows when suddenly everyone came to attention as the two women were piped aboard. "Tradition... Admiral?"
"Yep.." as she received a PADD from one of the officers. "to Commander Telios Wintersnow, you are hereby requested and required to assume command of the USS Prinz Eugen by order of Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi
Computer transfer all command codes to Captain Wintersnow. Authorization Yamaguchi One Nine Seven Juliet Bravo."
"Command codes transferred, USS Prinz Eugen is now under the command of Commander Telios Wintersnow."
"I relieve you sir." Wintersnow smiled, she was eager to get going.
"I stand relieved." April Yamaguchi responded. "I need to go back to the starbase and get things rolling, I will leave you... and the Prinz Eugen to get acquainted." and with that Yamaguchi took her leave.
