Captain Neban Hular sighed softly as the conn officer turned her bald head. "Avalon, now on final approach to the Tellar System sir." Lieutenant Belex Amedi reported in a crisp and cool tone of voice.
"Slow to impulse," Hular answered as she rose to his feet. "Time till arrival?"
"Six minutes, eleven seconds skipper." the Bolian female explained as she glanced over at Lieutenant Atish Khatami who added. "I have clearance from the dockmaster to approach and dock sir."
"Fine work everyone," Hular commented as he tapped several buttons on his chair. "Attention all personnel aboard USS Avalon. Some of us will be going our separate ways and others will remain aboard, but before we all part company, I felt a few words were in order. It has has been an honor and a privilege to have been your commanding officer these last two years. I have enjoyed serving with each and everyone one of you. You all carry within you, a legacy made from this crew and this ship that is unique to us and us alone. Let's make sure that history never forgets the name of the Avalon or her crew. Hular out."
"Nice speech." came the comment from Commander Phoolan Warfield, she was standing at her post which was on the right side of the large horseshoe console that dominated the bridge whereas Marie Hasti stood at the left side, at the tactical station.
Belex Amedi smiled. "Now on final approach skipper."
"Take us in, request docking clearance and the like." Neban paused. "Well. This will be different."
"Aye skipper, it will," Newsom responded in a quiet tone of voice.
