| Personal History | Martin Emerson was born in 2366, he was the second child to Paul and Shai Emerson, raised alongside his older brother Michael and his younger sister Katrina on various deep space assignments, he never knew what a planet felt like until he was about twelve years old. A throwback to the old space boomers of the mid-twenty-second century as Martin never bothered to learn why Earth was so important. Needless to say, one of his teachers didn't like him because Martin said: "Earth is just another planet, it's not the center of the universe as some say." Martin and this teacher didn't get along on any level whatsoever as the Human was a product of the Human high culture that had been festering on Earth for decades. He also tried to fail Martin for his schoolwork, rather than get angry, he went to the school principal who as luck would have it, was an Andorian so the issue got sorted out quickly. Martin's first experience of living on a planet wasn't until he went off to the academy, he ran into the same human high culture which disgusted and offended him on every level. He met a fellow cadet named Belex Amedi who was mourning her dead brother, the two of them were spending time together as he realized he loved her and before long they were married. He graduated with honors and was assigned to the USS Cambrian, while he missed his wife, he did alright on this ship and after a couple of years followed by a promotion, he was offered a transfer to the USS Avalon. He jumped at the chance, he became the Chief Engineer for the first time in his assignment as he was reunited with his wife. He is relishing this assignment on the USS Avalon but al;l things must end at some point. in Mid 2393, he was promoted to Lt Commander and he was offered a posting on a much more massive ship, the USS Asgard. When he learned his wife was being offered the same ship, he accepted, the two packed up their family and departed the Avalon a day or so later. |
