Mission: Mission 97: The Fleet Reorganization Saga
Location: Doctors Office - Starbase Watchman
Timeline: 0815Hrs - September 20th, 2392

Captain Aleexa Binen sat down in her office on Watchman Station, she knew that today was going to be another normal day in Watchman's hospital and while she wasn't expecting anything overly serious to happen, other things were conspiring against her on this day. Had Aleexa knew what was going to happen to her, she would have said to hell with it and taken today off.

The tall Denobulan female simply shrugged off her lab coat to reveal a finely toned body, honed and sculpted by spending at least six hours a week in the gym, mostly pounding weights but also some cardio too, she let the lab coat rest on the back of her chair as she began checking her mail and the like.

Binen smiled as she regarded her mail, there were six new messages and four were from relatives, one was from the Plaza Merchants Guild and the last was from her new boss, she decided to deal with this one first so she opened it and as she expected, it was full of garbage about military protocol and jumping to attention and more worthless trash, she leafed through it before she deleted it.

"Seriously. I hold the rank of Captain and a guy who holds the same pay grade as I and he want to make me and everyone else jump to attention and salute him?" Binen asked herself, while she shook her head. "Unbelievable." she sighed softly.

Just then, the source of her ire came into her office without knocking. "Captain." he addressed her in such a tone that he made her rank sound almost like an insult as Binen regarded him. "What do you want?" she inquired in a dismissive tone of voice.

"You still address me as sir and salute!" he snapped at her.

"Are you actually serious about all of this?" the Denobulan female inquired with a sardonic smile. "I mean, really?"

"Well, my opinion is the only one that counts. Since I am Chief of Medicine." the man answered her. Binen sighed as the com suddenly beeped at them both. "I'd best get that, it is for me after all." she turned her back before she looked at him over her shoulder. "Get out of my office so I can attend to my work," she added. "Now," she growled softly.

"How dare you speak to me like so, I will have you-"

"Yes, yes. yes. Please go away." She waved her left hand at him in a dismissive tone over her left shoulder, while Binen tapped the display once.

The man growled softly before he turned and marched out. "I will have you for this."

"You are not my type," Binen answered him. "Thanks anyway," she added. "Computer, close the door, the air just became toxic in here." as the handsome Debobulan was reminded of the two spouses that she had and missed both.

"Life support is working within acceptable parameters."

Binen sighed softly. "Yes, yes. Open transmission." as a face of an older human male wearing a Starfleet uniform with the rank of rear admiral appeared on the screen before her. "Admiral. My apologies for the delay, I had to deal with Captain Mike Boehner." she paused. "I wish to make a complaint about him and I could share details with you on the subject, should you wish it?"

"I do. But first things first." Ryan St John answered. "I called for you, not for him."

"Yessir, what can I do for you?"

"I'm going to offer you reassignment to become the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Valhalla."

Binen brightened instantly. "I just made Captain not that long ago, won't I be under-ranked for this job?"

"Well, yes and no." St John responded. "Normally the job requires a Commodore but you get top marks from everyone you've ever served with, especially your former CO's. Ken Hunt, in particular, sings your praises like a Nightengale and you and I both know how that man operates."

Binen blinked, she and Ken Hunt had, between the two of them over forty major disputes during their time served together, she respected him but that was all. "You'll forgive me if I say that's not what I was expecting."

"Yes, well, he does tend to do that a lot. Your assignment takes effect in a month, the Valhalla has more in common with a Starbase then a ship of the line."

"Yessir. I'll leave tomorrow morning."

"Excellent, thank you, Captain, and do not worry about Mister Brohner. He is mine to deal with, I'll have one of my guys look into the matter and if needed, then I'll ask Starfleet JAG deal with him. Thank you for making me aware of the concern."

Binen cheered considerably. "Thank you, Admiral, for the opportunity."

"Thank you, Captain, for your time. St John out." and with that, he hung up on her as the screen went black, the tall female Denobulan sat in her chair a few moments longer, a wide grin on her lips as she tapped the display a second time before calling up her list of appointments which she began canceling because she was leaving, she then left notes to her replacement that that these issues needed to be dealt with before she called in her aide.

"Yes Doctor, you wanted me?" the young Bajoran male inquired of her.

"I've been reassigned and I'm letting you know that you'll soon be serving someone else," Binen explained. "I apologize for the suddenness of all of this but it can't really be helped. I'm needed elsewhere." Binen explained with a gentle smile.

"I understand Doctor. It has been a privilege working with you." he smiled as he regarded her.

Binen nodded. "You'll need to send out notices to these six people regarding their appointments. Can you handle that before days end?"

"Of course Doctor. I assume today is your last day?"

The tall Denobulan nodded her head. "Yes so I'm in something of a rush to get things finished before I go." she then smiled. "Take heart, your next boss can't be any worse than me or the guy who's making everyone get up and salute him right."

"Yeah, I'm an aide, not a robot." the man responded. "Take care of yourself, Doctor, it's been a privilege."

"You too Dvast," Binen answered. "Now. Let's get this done before I depart."

"Right." the man sat down next to her as the two went to work on the paperwork that would be needed for Binen's replacement.
