| General Overview | Marie is something of a contradiction in terms due to not knowing who her father is. Her mother considers the matter closed as she had never bothered to consider Paul Antilles as part of her family. This was something that Taryn never explained to Marie. What's worse is that Marie often feels inadequate most of the time due to this. Her husband James is the rock in the stormy ocean of Marie's life. What also helps is that Marie has found out who she is and she;'s also found her extended family. Paul Antilles has come to accept her as one of his own. His other children have done likewise. |

| Personal History | Lieutenant Marie Hasti-Antilles was born in 2365, the only child of Taryn Proudmoore, she was raised on Vega IX, there was a hot and lush world, full of jungles as the star in the sky was eight times the size of Sol and it was a blue star rather than a yellow star like Sol of Alpha Centauri. Her father was unknown to her, at least at first. Taryn did her best with her daughter as at times she could be a serious handful, as all children were. However, Proudmoore generally got along with her daughter quite well. Taryn had always planned to have a child but she didn't want the hassle of a relationship and nor did she want to ask some random guy home to have sex until she became pregnant. So she decided to visit the local sperm bank. Within, she found the DNA of a man who was more than what most would ever hope to be. Paul Antilles. So she requested some, got what she wanted and then she impregnated herself with it. Marie came a year later. Marie's curiosity about her extended family started at a young age and when she was old enough she brought the subject up again, Taryn not realizing why Marie was asking, explained who Paul Antilles was. She also didn't see how resourceful her daughter could be when the situation called for it, Marie decided to start digging and she never stopped as she quickly found out who Paul Antilles actually was. She had assumed that he was a deadbeat, what she found was a man who was a solder, a warrior who was known for his deeds in wartime. When she joined Starfleet, she was subjected to the usual medical checks that new recruits go through and she found out while taking these exams of who Paul Antilles was, without any question and it was around this time that she met one of her half-siblings, Kira Antilles who was back at the academy for a refresher medical course. To Marie's surprise, she got along with Kira Antilles quite well, even after she revealed her parentage, Kira simply laughed as she said. "Well Dad has good genes, what can I say?" Marie was surprised but she also met a man named James Hasti, and he could gently take her in hand as he showed her that there was more to life than duty and honour. The two were married a year later, her mother instantly hated him as he saw him as a threat to her daughter, the issues finally exploded during a reception aboard the USS Sherman for a visiting Ambassador, needless to say, Taryn Proudmoore made an ass of herself in front of everyone, including James, her intended victim. James Hasti took this incident very badly as he refused to have anything to do with her ever again, however, Marie also took it badly as she felt ashamed of her mother, it went very badly and caused a very dark rift between mother and daughter that never fully cleared. She was recently assigned to the USS Avalon, where she, along with her husband and children can live together, also she has been trying to reconnect or as she sees it, trying to connect with her extended family, the Antilles. Her chat with Robbie went really well, clearly, he had accepted her instantly, Paul Antilles did likewise. All of Paul Antilles's children accepted her as one of their own easily. Marie has since gotten to know many of them rather well. She's enjoying being the Chief of Tactical aboard the USS Avalon and she looks set to continue her career aboard this vessel, recently she was promoted to Lt Commander but with the reassignment of the USS Avalon, she was offered a posting to the USS Grey Wolf, an assignment she accepted, her children and husband went along without issues. Almost as soon as Marie reported aboard, she became pregnant with child number three, a child that she soon found out was a boy and so she named him for the father figure she never known but who had accepted her into his family without question, argument or comment. The man who had accepted her into his heart and his home. She named her son for him. Paul Hasti-Antilles. If that didn't win over any last holdouts of House Antilles who stood against her, this would have won them over. Marie suddenly found herself getting over twenty letters of congratulations and well wishes, she found it all quite overwhelming but she enjoyed the attention from the other members of the house. Paul had never been so honoured before and he made sure that she knew how he felt about it. It was around this point when she decided that she needed to add the name Antilles to hers as she was an Antilles and according to Paul Antilles, she had always had a right to the name and to the crown. |
