Mission:
Mission 82: It Is War’s Prize to Take All Vantage.
Location: Outskirts - Jin'zakk System
Timeline: 1045Hrs - April 30th, 2392
Captain Leah Deepshadow sighed softly as she was standing next to the master system display located at the back of the bridge. "Alright, assemble several damage control parties and go deck by deck, I want a full and complete damage report..." she was speaking to the handsome Bajoran female who had come up to the bridge because the ship's com system was down.
Commander Anjohl Nerys nodded her head as she jotted notes down on a PADD which she was holding in her hands, the idea helped her to focus on the more important things and this way she didn't forget critical details. "I'll have the exterior teams look at the weapons hatches on vertical launch cells six and seven while they are in the area."
"I appreciate that.." Anderson responded. "I have a feeling we might be here awhile yet and we handed that Klingon General a defeat that he'll want revenge for."
"Well. One way or another, I'll see to it that we're ready." Anjohl answered with a soft sigh. "If there is nothing else skipper?"
"No. Don't let me keep you," Anderson responded with a soft sigh. "Robert. I'd like to get some good news from command, please tell me you have some?"
Robert Anderson regarded his wife with a simple look. "I hate to disapoint.," he said quietly. "Command is not telling me squat but the Highlord, however, is chasing it at the present time. He said he'd get back to me."
"Super," Anderson answered her husband's response with one of her own. "I don't know which I hate more. The fact that command is snowing me or that my skipper confuses me for a mushroom."
There were a few puzzled looks around the bridge at that statement. "They keep me in the dark and feed me shit," Anderson explained her statement with the punchline from her inside joke.
The turbolift doors opened and out stepped a Trill male Starfleet officer, wearing intelligence black. "Skipper." Lieutenant Vrajir Leezahl addressed her. "I got this during the battle. I was just able to decrypt it."
"Federation fleet in force at the Jin'zakk System, request major reinforcements to take critical system." Anderson read aloud. "Nice work El Tee. Now we have no choice."
"Sir?" he regarded Captain Anderson with an odd look.
"We're stuck here for the duration... and we need more ships.." Anderson answered.
"Ahh." he paused as the comm system beeped. "Engineering to Bridge. This is your mid-morning wake-up call..."
Anderson smiled as she tapped her combadge, affixed to her chest. "Engineering, bridge. Good to hear from you." it seemed like her battleship was slowly rising from the ashes of the last battle.
Meanwhile over on the USS Lethal Shadow. Captain Bolivar Fordragon was seated behind the desk in his ready room. The grizzled Captain sighed softly as he regarded his fleet commander. "Look. All I have to my name is a half dozen capital ships and two dozen escorts of various types. Most of those are damaged. I need either to be pulled off of the line completely or major reinforcements."
Rear Admiral Jake Yamaguchi nodded his head. "I hear you Bolivar but I don't have a lot at present to send to you." he paused. "I am however routing the Sixth Fleet to you. They should be there soon... When they arrive, you'll be heading back to Starbase Twenty Three with your entire unit for repairs and the like."
"Thank you, Admiral.." Fordragon responded. "That's good to know." he paused. "Anything else sir?"
"No, that's it. Good luck Captain."
"Mmm. To us all Admiral." and with that Fordragon hung up, he rose to his feet before he walked out onto the Lethal Shadow's bridge. "Status number one?"
Commander Fernando Lopez was standing next to the food replicator as he pulled out the part that was broken. "Little change from last time skipper," he commented as he slipped the new part in, then he put the replicator back together before he did a quick check. "The food slot is functioning perfectly."
"Excellent." Lopez smiled as he replicated a glass of water before he tried a sip before he started to gag and choke.
Fordragon reacted, alarmed by this development as Lopez suddenly dropped the act. "Seriously. The replicator works."
"Y'know I hate it when you do that.." Trueheart regarded her husband with annoyance and suspicion.
Fordragon sighed as he took the glass of cold water off of Lopez before he tried it himself. "Yes it's good," he commented. "Fernando. Why don't you go for a walk? Since you seem to have all this energy to waste... and tour the ship. "
Lopez chuckled softly. "Some people just have no sense of humor." as he packed away his tools before he departed the bridge. Fordragon sat down in his command chair, he huffed a sigh as he did so. "They are doing it to me again.."
Lieutenant Commander Katrina Davis smiled, his big and burly Chief of security nodded her head. "yub yub Captain. So... When is command giving us reinforcements?"
"The Sixth should be here soon, then we're heading for Starbase 23 for repairs and probably relief. We did lose a few ships after all."
Davis nodded her head. "Yes, we did."
The turbolift doors opened and out came the oldest member of the senior staff presently aboard ship. Commander Bart 'Gargoyle' Mancuso who was also the ship's chief medical officer. "Skipper, the medical report you wanted." he sighed as he handed the PADD off to Fordragon. "Sixteen dead and forty-six wounded." Fordragon read aloud. "I'm sorry Doctor."
"So am I Captain," Mancuso responded in a dry tone of voice. "Well. They knew what they signed on for but I don't think anyone was expecting this."
Commander Melissa Bateman turned her head. "Skipper I'm reading a massive warp signature closing on us. They just entered sensor range..." she paused as she smiled. "It's the Sixth fleet. They should be here in ten minutes."
"Outstanding," Fordragon responded with a smile. "Bridge to Engineering?"
Commander Sophia Byron's soft dulcet tones came back. "Yes, skipper?"
"Is this ship capable of sustained flight?"
"I'll get us to where we're going skipper. Don't you worry? Our top speed is presently warp eight point four which we can maintain for sixty-two hours."
Bateman turned back to her console. "That'll get us to our destination skipper."
"Alright, Contact all our ships, tell them to prepare to get underway in five minutes. Our destination is Starbase Twenty Three and our speed is warp eight point two." Fordragon explained with a smile.
Bateman worked her panel. "Orders sent," she commented. "All ships answering and." she paused a moment. "Yes, we can make our designation with all ships keeping up."
"Excellent," Fordragon responded. "Engineering, any issues?"
"Nothing a starbase won't be able to fix skipper," Byron responded.
"Alright then, I won't keep you further. Bridge out." Fordragon responded as Bateman added. "All ships report ready to get underway. Admiral Risken of the Sixth is hailing audio only."
"Put the Admiral through?" Fordragon responded.
There was a small burst of static before Admiral Riskin's voice came over the com system. "This is Admiral Riskin. Captain Fordragon, we are here to relieve you. You guys have done fine work defending this system but we'll take over now. You guys head out for repairs."
"Understood Admiral," Fordragon responded. "Melissa. Tell all ships... Get underway." and with that the Lethal Shadow lead all thirty of her ships into warp, leaving the Sixth Fleet to guard the Jin'zakk System while they departed the war zone.
