| Personal History | Grace Trueheart was born in 2354, the youngest of three siblings on the Federations settled world of Regulus and while her childhood was a happy one, it was shattered irrevocably in 2371, at age seventeen when a terror strike obliterated her home city of Eastwatch City. Over ten million people died in the attack which was blamed on Maquis separatists. But Grace knew almost instantly that they were innocent of this atrocity. However she was left with no family and no place to go so she went to join Starfleet in response. Her time at the academy was educational, she went further into the science of war then most generally did as she decided to stick in for the foreign exchange program that was going on at the time with the Klingons. Her skills in the various combat forms impressed even her most resolute detractors and she returned to the Federation a year later as something of a monument to the art of war. She also brought with her a deep love of Klingon culture if not their justice, she resumed her studies at the academy only to graduate in time for the Dominion War. Even if she was deployed along with a few dozen cadets to help fight against the Borg during the Second Borg attack in Earth orbit. What was supposed to be her cadet cruise turned into the biggest battle she'd yet seen up to that point as she became a part of the Second Borg attack on Earth in late 2373. She fought the first half of the Dominion War on the USS Borodin until that ship was crippled during the battle for Chin'Toka. Trueheart escaped along with several dozen others but they still had to leave half the crew from their home, now turned into a furnace by Jem'Hadar weapons fire. Her next assignment was the USS Chicago, a new Galaxy-class ship which was deployed to the Dominion Lines and never left for the remainder of the war, Somehow this ship avoided the worst of the weapons fire while other ships around her exploded or just broke for no reason. Trueheart finished the war here and she remained aboard the USS Chicago from the next several years, as the ship did the usual collection of missions for the Federation. However, that ended in 2381 when she was reassigned to the USS First Minister. It was here that she met a man that was able to break through all of his armor plating, one Fernando Lopez and the two hit it off quite slowly. It was months with them dating before he proposed to her a year after they started dating. She surprised him by saying yes and as a result, she found herself having the family she had lost when she was a teenager when his family simply took her in and accepted her without question. Over the next couple of years, the two of them would have four children, in the middle of all of this he went across to the USS Avalon and she followed, she would remain beside her husband during his time here and then she would follow him across to the USS Lethal Shadow when he was offered Exec of that assignment, she, in turn, was offered Chief of Tactical. When her husband was promoted to command his own ship in late 2393. Trueheart wnt with him as his spouse, the mother to his children and as his chief tactical officer. She was content to remain where she was. |
