An Overdue Birthday Party

Mission: Mission 73: Near Misses and Close Encounters
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1800Hrs - March 27th, 2392

Saki Yamaguchi was seated next to her mother at one of the tables in the green dragon. "So... Who's left to show up?"

Rachael Yamaguchi regarded her daughter, a gentle smile on her lips. "We'll it's been a week since everything went down with Siaxx... My ban on staying on the Tranquility ended two hours ago." Rachael responded. "and your birthday happened in the middle of all of this crap thats happening.."

Saki held her silence as she listened to what her mother had to say.

On the other side of the table, sat her grandmother. Torilla Yamaguchi lifted a glass of water to her lips and drained a mouthful, she then smiled as she glanced around. Gabriel, her eldest son and his wife Savannah were both seated nearby and elsewhere in the lounge was Elizabeth, along with her own husband. Torilla wanted plenty of backup around just in case things with Siaxx got stupid but she wanted all of her immediate relations present to celebrate her granddaughters birthday more then anything else.

Torilla's twin was also nearby. Plataea slowly smiled before she rose to her feet, she came over as she regarded the gathering. "May I ... join you?"

Torilla moved over. "Please do.." she grinned as she regarded her twin as Plataea sat down, the two women looked identical in every respect as Saki smiled. "Cool... You two look the same."

"That sweetie... is because we 'are' the same," Plataea commented with a smile. "We're... two peas in a pod that's still working things out between us."

Saki shrugged, in a manner that said she didn't understand. "What's there to work out?... you are sisters!"

Torilla and Plataea shared a look as Rachael chuckled softly. "Great Aunt Plataea.," she commented softly. "I'm good with having a great aunt.." Saki then paused as she turned to her mother. "Did I get that right... There are so many titles... It's confusing..."

Rachael grinned. "Tell me about it... and yes, you got it, right sweetie."

The door opened and in walked Teval. Meanwhile, Sergeant Major Duval smiled, he held a rather large birthday cake, with nine candles. on it was written 'Happy Birthday Saki' in swirls of whipped cream and strawberry sauce. "Almost finished.." Duval said more to himself than anyone else. "Ahh she's gonna love this cake," he added. "and if not... then more for me to eat... My guys outdid themselves with this cake..."

Gabriel regarded the Sergeant Major. "Sergeant Major... I had no idea you doubled as a Chef?"

"Oh, you'd be surprised at what I enjoy, my young friend... You having some of this?" Duval inquired, a wide smile on his face.

"We wouldn't dare miss our niece's birthday party," Savannah responded. "Her mother would be most grieved with us," she responded. "Rightly so too, anmd that cake looks amazing!."

Meanwhile Elizabeth watched over the gathering from a distance while she and Kameron enjoyed a drink each. "I can hear you thinking, y'know.," Kameron said to his wife who rewarded him with an impish smile. "Oh really?" she responded. "What am I thinking then?"

"You're concerned if the little blue one shows up and causes trouble.." Kameron responded quietly.

Elizabeth regarded her husband in silence for a moment. "Not quite... but close enough."

"I can understand though.." he paused. "You face the same scenario that happened between me and the Commander." Kameron was conspicuous in not naming Tom Lasky by his first name as he used to do until recently. "Should we join them?."

"Not yet... Wait a few more minutes... Just in case." Elizabeth commented quietly. "I know you have your issues with Tom... I just wish you two could work past them... You know how he feels about the issue concerning Kurt."

"I do.." Kameron nodded. "Alright... I'll go deal with the man once and for all..."

"Try to resolve it Kam... No need to make new enemies... Considering we have enough as it is.."

Meanwhile over at the large table which was actually four tables pulled together to form one large table. Rachael regarded Teval. "Teval... I was.. just thinking.. of you."

Torilla and Plataea shared a small smile before Plataea gently picked Teval up in her arms before she sat him on her lap. "So... my pretty..." she addressed Teval.

Saki thought this was just amusing and she laughed while she watched Teval sit on her new aunt's knee while the larger woman gently petted him. "I think she likes you."

Teval gave off a mildly annoyed growl. "Yeah, you think."

Meanwhile, Hakaya was sitting nearby with some random creamy Akurian drink. She was rather oblivious to the fact that she got a little whipped cream on her nose.

Saki noticed as she regarded Hakaya. "You look cuter then normal... Your nose." the nine-year-old pointed out with a smile.

Rachael glanced at the door as it remained closed. "Where are you Siaxx?" she then let out a sigh.

Nuyari came over to Teval and Hakaya, with a similar drink in her paws. She also decided to snuggle with Teval's tail, and he gave her a hug in response.

A moment later after Rachael said her comment, the door opened and in walked Siaxx Dvald-Sullivan, she looked several kinds of miserable as Rachael looked at Teval. "She's here." before she indicated Siaxx with a nod of her head.

Teval and Hakaya both looked up, and Hakaya decided to surprise everyone by waving at Siaxx saying. "Hey Siaxx, you made it."

Siaxx meanwhile sat down in a chair at the bar, she plopped her head down onto the table as she lifted her left hand over her head, waving to the crowd. "I want to climb into a small hole and forget today... or the last week ever happened." she moaned, while missing the fact that it has been Hakaya the one to greet her.

Rachael raised an eyebrow. Torilla turned to Rachael. "Go over to her... I'll watch Saki... Go on.." she said quietly.

Zuko, sensing Siaxx's mood, asked Teval, "Do you mind if I borrow Nuyari real quick."

Teval shook his head. "Nah."

Zuko then gently picked up the purring Kurokuri kit and brought her over to Siaxx, saying. "You look like you need a cuddle with a Kurokuri."

Nuyari gave Siaxx the kitten eyes and purred at her.

Siaxx moaned softly. "If only my issues could be resolved so easily." as she never turned her head at first.

Rachael gently slid her arms around Siaxx from behuind before the larger woman hugged the Bolian from behind. "Don't worry about it... All was forgiven a week ago... I don't hold grudges... You know that."

Siaxx turned as she regarded the Kurokuri kitten, she let out a soft moan before she gently plucked Nuyari before she cuddled her close. "My life is a shuttlecraft wreak.."

Rachael regarded her. "Why don't you come on over here and we can throw this party for Saki's birthday... Its several days late and I for one, am glad you are here..."

Siaxx sighed. "Alright." and with that she went over to the table, Rachael sat down before she hauled the heavy pregnant Bolian female onto her lap, before the part Halanan woman slid her arms around Siaxx who made herself comfortable on Rachael's lap.

Torilla smiled, clearly this was amusing as Saki chuckled softly. "Aunt Siaxx.... You made it... Whats wrong?" the nine year old picked up on the Bolian's misery.

"Wrong?" Siaxx sighed softly. "Well my wife is pissed off because of what happened to you. She got a bollocking for it and she's also pissed off about the drone program.. I have a trust issue with my hangar deck crew in that none of them came to me with the issue so they went to outside parties and I have this jackass of a second officer who is causing trouble and ...." she paused. "He's intimidating me because he thinks he should be first officer and he isn't as I won't let him." Siaxx explained. "He's larger then I am so he's been getting in my face about it.."

Torilla regarded her old friend. "We will deal with him... Martin Shkreli I think is his name..?"

"Something like that... Torilla I gotta tell ya... I hate that guy as he keeps threatening me." Siaxx admitted.

Rachael gently held Siaxx in her arms, before she kissed the Bolian woman who was more then twice her age on the side of her neck, it was meant as a distraction and Siaxx sighed softly.

Teval gave Siaxx a look. "You know, it would have helped if you told us all of this earlier."

"I'm pregnant Teval... My thinking process has gone to the wolves.." Siaxx responded. "Who would take me seriously?"

"I would." Rachael responded instantly.

"As would I." Gabriel added a moment later as he had joined the gathering at the large table, his wife was just sitting down next to him.
"I would too." Savannah added.

"Because we're your friends..." Torilla added a moment after her son did. "Siaxx... I love you but at times... You are as dense as granite.." Torilla added a moment later.

Hakaya lightly brushed Siaxx with her tail, adding. "Besides, all you have to do is convince one Yamaguchi to your side, then you will quickly have an army at your back."

Torilla chuckled softly. "she's not wrong you know... But..." she turned to Zuko. "Do you think I can get this tealshit asshole assigned to me for a little while?" she smiled sweetly. "I promise to behave... I cannot same the same for my Chief Medical Officer however... I know Rachael Haig will sin.."

Rachael chuckled softly as she whispered into Siaxx's ear. "Don't worry so much... It'll be alright... You survived life on Yeneer G. You will survive this.."

"I sometimes wonder... I had no idea a preganncy could be so abusive.."." Siaxx responded lightly

"I'll write up some notes for you and then we can go over them tomorrow when I meet you for lunch after I get off watch." Rachael responded.

Siaxx smiled. "Okay.."

Zuko wanted to clarify first. "So you want Siaxx and your CMO to trade places for a little while, is that right."

Siaxx shook her head. "I want my second officer to learn manners... Hell I'll settle for anything as he is disrupting my entire ship... He's torn new ones out of half my senior staff now..." Siaxx sighed softly.

Zuko nodded. "Alright, I'm good with it."

Siaxx raised an eyebrow. "Zuko... I hate this guy and I want rid of him... I stuck in a request but I doubt it'll pass and my crew all want to kill him."

Rachael gently soothed the pregnant Bolian. "Don't worry... He'll be dealt with... " as she regarded Zuko. "You brought the issue to someone who can do something about it.." she explained.

Saki regarded Siaxx. "Don't worry so much.. It'll all work out in the end... I hope." the nine year old commented. "Besides... Whats your next move.?"

"I can't do it anymore... command a ship and be pregnant..." she regarded Zuko. "You and I can handle that tomorrow morning and I'll advance Tressa to acting Captain... She's been a wonder to behold..."

Rachael knew what it was like to loose something you'd worked for due to circumstances outside one's control. "Its not gonna be permanent Siaxx.. and I doubt the powers that be will begrudge you having a baby.. I imagine your record will handle it just fine."

Siaxx nodded, fighting tears as Rachael hugged her. "It'll be alright... You are respected, you have your friends and people who care... Oh sure we got our assholes... Who doesn't but they will always be massively outnumbered by those of us who care."
