Mission: Mission 70: Children and the Workplace do Not Mix
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1530Hrs - March 22th, 2392

Lieutenant Elizabeth Yamaguchi was sitting on one of the chairs near the large firepit, she was wearing a dark red one piece bathing suit that looked really good on her, also her two large burgers were wrapped in bread rolls, drenched in sauces of various kinds and were just begging to be eaten but the tall woman was talking with her niece. "I heard what you did with Grey Wind and Nymeria." she was saying to Saki who nodded. "They respond to me.. I don't know why."

"I'm willing to bet that its not your first time having a Doctor Doolittle connection to animals." Elizabeth responded. "Maybe going for a medical career can help you Saki... Though I'll admit.. I don't see you as Starfleet material at present." Elizabeth added. "Thats not a bad thing sweetie..."

"Thats because I'm only nine, Aunt Elizabeth.. I've not made up my mind yet." the small child responded, she was wearing a simple black singlet bathing suit that covered everything on her. Though Saki would have been fine wearing nothing at all and most present who knew Saki, knew this detail about her. However Saki knew enough to respect the customs of others sop she wore clothing even though she didn't wish to.

"It can be a pain.." Elizabeth commented evenly. "Wearing a suit when you don't wish to." she smiled.

"How do you know what I was thinking." Saki inquired.

"Because you are broadcasting your thoughts and I picked up on them. The answer my dear is simple... We have humans in the group and you and I are both part human to some degree." Elizabeth explained. "They have a nudity taboo while we don't... So we respect them as some can get distracted." the tall woman smiled.

"Ahh.." Saki responded. "Okay.. I get it now." the small child explained, with a wide smile on her lips. "What do you say we eat...?"

"A great idea Saki.." and with that, Elizabeth gently picked up one of her two burgers. "Mom cooks great food, don't you think?"

Saki already had her mouth full of food so she simply nodded rather then talk with her mouth full. "Mmmm." she added.

Meanwhile nearby was Elizabeth's husband, Kameron Yamaguchi as he was talking to his sister in law. "Rachael. I can understand why you're angry.." he was sitting on one of the other deck chairs while wearing a pair of dark blue shorts, much like the other men present.

"No Kam. You're not in my situation and you two make it look like you got everything covered... You two make it look so easy." Rachael then took a moment to adjust the light blue one piece she was wearing, as she scratched at the skin beneath the right shoulder strap.

"No, not easily." Kam answered evenly. "We make it work because we talk Rachael." he sighed. "I made my mistakes, I wasn't there when she had her leg destroyed and had her face smashed in by Tienn. I threw her out of her own quarters at two in the morning... Have you had your relationship really tested?"

"No." Rachael sighed. "Ennis is much older then I am."

"Then how can you know what it can and can't endure hon?" Kameron asked softly of her sister in law. "Unless your relationship is tested, how can you know?"

"I guess... I need to talk to Ennis about recent events... But I have to call him since I am unable to go over there because of what happened between Saki and Siaxx... I didn't see that one coming." Rachael sighed softly. "More fucking drama thats giving me grey hairs and keeping me up at night."

"I know you've been through a lot recently and you still got this child custody bullshit on your mind. But Elizabeth did you a favor... Even if its not obvious."

"She's my sibling and she knows me intimately well." Racheal sighed softly. "I think Savannah was right... Command was unfair to her."

"No. Elizabeth wanted your case after your mom asked her to handle it. She wanted someone who could keep it together and wasn't out to shaft you. Elizabeth could do it. I knew she could and so did your mom."

"I guess... I wish all this shit didn't keep happening to me."

"Thats why you need to talk to various people Rachael.. To your mom and child more then anyone else... What about your husband.. isn't he any worth to you?"

"He is.." Rachael responded with a soft sigh. "He's so focused on his career and we do talk... He's worried about Saki too... But he couldn't be here because of medical troubles keeping him busy on the Tranquility. He'd been helping out with the Ferasian medical crisis planetside."

Kameron regarded Rachael as he gently rubbed her shoulder, he meant nothing by it. "I think... You two should take a little time off alone, no children... No parents and nothing, just you two.."

It was then that the holodeck computer system beeped. "Lieutenant Ennis Cullen is requesting entry. Could I permit him access?" the computer inquired.

Jake Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Rachael?' he called. "Its for you!"

Rachael smiled as the regarded Kameron. "Maybe he heard me thinking about him." she paused. "Computer, open the door and allow him access."

The holodeck arch appeared before the doors opened. Lieutenant Cullen came in. He had Sarah and little Daniel with him. Sarah moved into the holodeck as she looked around. "Wow.." she commented quietly before she went to find the source of the food she could smell. Daniel made his way over to Rachael. "Ma!" the child commented as Rachael smiled. "Hey little guy." and with that she gently picked him up in her arms like he weighed nothing whatsoever.

Kameron smiled as he regarded Ennis. "Hey Rachael... I'm sorry I'm late..."

"Its okay. I should have known you'd come."

"I tried getting away as soon as I could."

"Work issues?" Kameron asked his brother in law.

"Yes. The issues planetside seem to have crested for now but we need to stay on top of it... " Cullen responded with a soft sigh. "Its a right mess down there."

"I heard." Kameron answered diplomatically. "They drafted me and several others from our studies to assist with work in charting the sped of the virus down there."

"Mostly its things like colds and flus." Cullen explained. "But its affecting everyone and eventually we hope it'll burn itself out." the taller man let out a sigh before he sat down next to Rachael.

"I'm Sorry I'm late." Cullen explained to his wife.

"Its okay.. Th meeting was his morning."

"I'll leave you two to be alone.." as Kameron gently picked up Daniel. "We'll watch this little guy for awhile. Let you two talk alone." and with that he withdrew, the small child in his arms.

Elizabeth smiled as she regarded Sarah. "Hey.. So you two getting along?"

Sarah nodded as Saki hugged the child who looked nothing like her. "Yep." Saki announced before Elizabeth laughed at the scene before her.

Torilla regarded Jake. "I see Ennis arrived."

Jake drained his glass of the drink within as he smiled. "Yep... I say we leave them to chat... They need to talk and we should leave them to it.." he shifted his attention from his wife to his daughter and then back to his wife a second time.
