Mission: Mission 70: Children and the Workplace do Not Mix
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1500Hrs - March 22th, 2392

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi wore a dark blue apron over the front of the dark blue one-piece bathing suit she was wearing to protect her skin from anything that might come off the barbeque in front of her, the larger then average woman smiled as she ran the large metal spatula under one of the burgers before she proceeded to flip it onto its back, there was a loud sizzle as the soft meat came into contact with the metal surface.

Torilla then took a moment to regard the scene before her, her entire family and all of their spouses except for Ennis Cullen were present. Her husband was nearby with the twins as they played in the sand, Jake was encouraging them to 'not' throw sand at the other. He was wearing a pair of black shorts and nothing else.

Rachael meanwhile was seated on one of the nearby deck chairs, she was wearing a light blue one-piece that looked very nice on her while Savannah who was sitting nearby was wearing a two-piece bikini which really highlighted her figure, next to her was her husband who was wearing a pair of shorts, much like his father.

Torilla regarded the scene play out as Elizabeth Yamaguchi, her eldest and her own husband were busy checking over the drinks they had brought with them to the holodeck. "Yep... one dozen cans of fizzy sodas... No booze for you." Kameron smiled at his wife.

"Yep... None for me... I'm glad I never got back that taste.." Elizabeth responded with a cheerful smile.

"That makes two of us... I was never good company when I've had a few... and you... Well... I'd best not say it." Kameron regarded his wife with an affectionate smile.

"Nice save!" Elizabeth responded, with a zesty smile. "You should make Admiral in no time."

"Heh. Well... yes" he turned to Torilla as he went over to her. "All the drinks and everything else is good to go." he said to the woman he called mom.

"Good." Torilla responded with a soft smile. "Think Rachael will get over what happened?"

"Once she comes to terms with the fact that I wasn't out to screw her over. She will... In time though.." Elizabeth explained. "I did what I had to do."

"You did what you were expected to do... Yet you were given a downright unpleasant task... Not only evaluating someone for parenthood but a member of your own family no less and you kept it together... You'll make a hell of a counselor."

"I know... But that doesn't mean I need to like it mom.." Elizabeth responded. "I found the assignment unpleasant and downright distasteful but... After I calmed down I realized it was also an excellent guide of what to do.. and what not to do."

"Yes.." Torilla smiled. "I caught that in your report.. the two mistakes you made.. Do not worry about it.... Did Commander Kingston talk to you on the matter?"

"Yes.. She and Celeste both said I am now officially certified and fit to be a full time Counselor."

"What about you?" Torilla turned to Kameron who was standing next to his wife.. "I heard you're also in school full time.?"

"Yes... To become a fully trained science officer. Commander McKnight signed off on my paperwork and he added and I quote 'I needed this guy in this position yesterday.' Unquote." he grinned. "Y'know its nice to have the Exec in your corner."

"Thats great news... When do you graduate..?" Torilla inquired, a smile on her face.

"Two months time... and then I can take off my wings for the last time.." Kameron sounded comfortable with his choices.

"I know you worked so hard for them, Kam... Are you sure you want to do that?" Torilla inquired softly, she did know what went into it.

"Its time mom. I have a wife and I have to consider her and...." his smile suddenly widened as he turned his attention to his wife who he indicated with a gentle wave of his hand. Torilla looked on expectantly. "And... what?" she inquired, in an expectant tone of voice.

"I'm pregnant mom." Elizabeth smiled softly.

Torilla screamed loudly. Jake turned his head before he came rushing over. Gabriel did likewise, both men wondering if Torilla had hurt herself as Torilla embraced her eldest who embraced her back. "Thats.. fantastic news!"

"Well Kam and I were waiting but... We weren't expecting it this soon..." Elziabeth explained into her mothers ear.

Gabriel came over. "Mom, are you alright?" he inquired, a worried look in his eye but he quickly figured out that this wasn't anything bad at all.

"Yeah... Its okay.. Its okay" Torilla responded as she gently released her daughter from her embrace.

"Its alright guys." Elizabeth smiled. "I was just sharing the news"

"News?" Jake inquired of his daughter.

"As I just told mom... I'm pregnant and-Erkk." Elizabeth got out before she was mobbed.

Jake gently hugged his daughter while she spoke but he also picked her up as he did so. "Thats wonderful news...Will you two be okay with this?" he indicated Kameron who was watching the scene play out before him with deep amusement in his eyes and face.

Kameron nodded. "Of course. Everything will be well." he answered instead since his wife was presently busy.

Jake set his daughter down before her brother hugged her. Meanwhile, Savannah Yamaguchi gently placed her hands on Rachael Yamaguchi's shoulders. "Don't worry about Elizabeth... She was only evaluating you for motherhood... If worst came to worst. Saki would be given to your mom or Gabe and me... or Elizabeth and Kam... You'd still be able to see her.."

"What she did was unfair..." Rachael growled.

"How so... From the way you tell it... and her too... Command was unfair to her, not to you." Savannah responded. "Look Rachael... She is your sister and she knows you intimately well... She could have really shafted you with such force that you'd be feeling it for the rest of your natural life.. Instead she was gentle about it, she even told you about it... Unless what you said was false."

"No... She was honest about it but... She was less then kind about it."

"Was she justified in her treatment of you?" Savannah inquired of the younger woman, she then raised a hand. "No... Don't answer that... Just think on it and the truth will point to itself."

"You've been hanging around Gabe a little too long.?"

"That is hardly a bad thing Rachael and the fact that you say that is telling." the older woman sighed softly. "Rachael... I won't deny you've been through a lot but you need to learn to relax... You have a good work ethic but you are focusing far too much on your career to the detriment of everything else... I don't think Ennis is willing to cut back on his career and he comes across as extremely old school... which means Sarah is stuck being mom most of the time."

Rachael sighed. "Okay.. I'll work at it."

"Gabe and I have it set so one of us is spending time with our children while the other is on duty." Savannah explained. "Just... work at it Rachael... Don't quit this assignment the way you quit fighter corps.." she smiled. "Now what do you say we go over and congratulate your sister."

"For what?"

"She's pregnant... Now go over there and congratulate her on that accomplishment... and say it like you mean it.." Savannah responded.

Rachael nodded, before she climbed to her feet and went over towards her sibling with Savannah following in silence.
