Pomp and Regrets - Part Five

Mission: Mission 108: Grains of Sand
Location: Various Locations - USS Spirit of Winter
Timeline: 1215Hrs - November 27th, 2393

Gabriel and Savannah both went down the hallway as Lieutenant Heather Shepard came from around a side hallway. Shepard had her duffel bag over one shoulder as she smiled at the Caitian female standing here. "Commander. Come to see me off?"

"I am, yes," Nasao answered. "I wish you luck Heather. May the winds ever be at your back.

"Thanks, Moni. I hope he's a worthy replacement." Shepard answered.

"He'll be fine. I wish you smooth sailing and light winds." Nasao answered. The two gently embraced before Shepard turned to the security guys at the airlock. She began the boarding process as Natalya Kirilova found herself looking into the warm eyes of Captain Plataea Lasky. "Captain. This is goodbye." the Russian woman commented with a gentle smile. "I hope I have the good luck to serve with you again, someday."

"Hopefully, you will. Take care of yourself, Nat." Lasky answered with a gentle smile. She gently shook the other woman's hand before she likewise began the boarding process of heading onto the Spirit of Winter.

Meanwhile. In front of the massive hospital complex. Lt Commander Gabriel Yamaguchi smiled as he came to the conclusion that he had not expected to see his elder sister today. He knew that this might go well or it could end poorly. He had no idea if Elizabeth was in today. She might be but then she could just as easily be out too. "You ready to be poked and prodded, Sav?" Gabe teased his wife.

"Only if it's you doing the poking. I get picky about it, you know." Sav answered, a gentle grin on her face. "Shall we go see these doctors and medics?" she asked

"Yeah. I guess we can go see if Elizabeth is present." Gabriel turned and went into the medical waiting area before he went over to the front desk. "Hey guys." he introduced himself and his spouse quickly. "I'm Gabriel Yamaguchi and this is Savannah Yamaguchi. We're looking to get our physicals done. I don't think we have an appointment." he explained his presence before the desk, here and now.

The Andorian shen smiled. "Yep. I have you booked with Galiaan Fordring." as she checked her displays. "I'll let her know you are both present. If you'll kindly take a seat?"

"Sure." Gabriel went to the waiting area. His spouse followed in silence. The two made themselves comfortable. Meanwhile, safely ensconced inside her own little den of sin. Galiaan Fordring smiled as she regarded her plans for the rest of her shift. She had two physicals to do and then it was looking after her paperwork until she went off watch. The intercom system beeped. "Doctor Fordring to the front desk. Doctor Fordring to the front desk please?"

Fordring smiled as she rose to her feet. She had been eager to see these two since she heard both of them were coming to the Starbase. Fordring wondered what sort of a man Gabriel Yamaguchi was, was he anything like Elizabeth. Well, she was about to get her chance. When she had heard the two were coming. She had all but demanded to e the one to handle the matter of their physicals.

It had been the same for Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen and Ennis Cullen. Who she had worked with before his assignment to the Tranquility. The ship that had been lost over Goranar during the last firefight in the war with the Klingons. She had those two to handle but they would be here tomorrow.

Fordring donned her white lab cost before she set off for her destination. She reached the front desk only moments later. "What's up John.?" she asked the man at the desk.

"Your eleven AM physicals are here." He indicated where Gabe and Sav were presently sitting. "Will you take them together or separately?"

"Together. They both mine." Fordring answered with a smile. She then made her way over to the two officers in question. "Gabriel and Savannah Yamaguchi?" she asked.

"Yes?" the two of them answered, almost together.

"I am ready for you now. Please follow me." Fordring answered with an impish smile on her face. She turned and went back the way she had come. Gabriel and Savannah following behind.

The three entered Fordring's office. "I'm Doctor Galiaan Fordring. I'll be the one who is going to be looking after your physical today. Welcome to Vanguard you two." she paused. "Alright. Who's first?" as she grinned at the two. Savannah hopped up on the bed. "I'll go first," she commented with a smile. Gabe settled in to wait his turn.

Fordring went about the physical. Giving the handsome young woman before her the quick once over. "Well. Other than being slightly underweight. You are in excellent shape." she commented before she frowned. "Oh, wait... You're pregnant Lieutenant."

"I am?" Savannah paused. "Oh. Cool," she answered with a wide smile on her lips.

"You'll forgive me for saying it but that's not what I was expecting you to say," Fordring commented.

Both Yamaguchi's shared a look before they both started to laugh. Savannah smiled. "No. I can imagine why. You were expecting the usual. The lady loses her mind and asks how can this happen... I was stupid and careless. Why am I being punished for my stupidity.?"

"Yeah. That's what I was expecting." Fordring answered. "So I take it that this was a planned development between you both then?"

"Oh yes. This was planned, but not quite so soon. I was expecting a few more nights of sex first." Savannah answered with a grin. "Gabe. I believe it's your turn." as she hopped off of the bed. Gabriel took his place on the bed when his wife had moved out of the way. He got his physical sorted out quickly as he regarded Fordring. She regarded him as well. "You are slightly underweight yourself. I assume you skip meals?"

"From time to time," Yamaguchi admitted. "Raising kids can be a demanding job," he commented.

"Oh tell me about it. I have two of my own and soon to be three." Fordring admitted. "Other than the obvious. You both are in excellent shape. I wish your sister was in the same condition as your spouse."

Gabriel nodded his head. It was clear that this was old news to him and to Savannah as well. "Well. We can help her with issues around the house."

"Please, Commander. It would make me so happy to know that." Fordring answered. "I will update your records and detain you no longer." she smiled as she watched her charges collect their bags before she would lead them back to the main entrance.
