Mission: Mission 109: The Travelers Path
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1920Hrs - September 23rd, 2393

Monique Deepshadow and her siblings reached their destination a short time later, as she felt the butterflies swarm through her stomach, as she was extremely nervous about the forthcoming discussion which she was sure was going to end badly and not just for her. Melody came to a stop outside the Admiral's quarters before she knocked on the door, Sammy Yeager stood next to Monique with a gentle smile on her lips. "Breathe sweetie." the larger female said in a gentle tone of voice. Melody smiled as she found being around Sammy to be soothing most of the time, but there were times when things would get stupid, as what had happened earlier between the two women.

The doors parted as an older looking woman stood there as she regarded Melody. "Hey ladies, since when do any of you knock?."

"Since none of us live here mom," Melody answered with a gentle smile. "Is Davijaan about?" Melddy inquired with something other than a smile on her face.

"Yeah, he's just putting the final touches on the dinner." as she regarded her daughter and the two women with her, both of which she considered kin but Talon could tell something wasn't right. "Come in ladies..."

Melody entered first, followed by Sammy who smiled as she gave Talon who was smaller then she, herself was a hug. "Hey, mom, how ya doing?" she inquired with a smile on her lips, the look in her eyes and the tone of her voice told a very different tale, however.

"I'm better than you three... What happened?" Talon looked up at Sammy, a concerned look on her face.

"Ahh... Just a conversation between Melody and me, it got out of hand..." Sammy sighed softly. "Let's just say... Things were said and had Monique not showed up... Well. I doubt I'd be coming to dinner tonight..."

"That bad?" Talon asked softly.

Sammy sighed. "You make being a parent look so easy mom."

"Oh no, not easy... I have made a great many mistakes... Some I will still be paying interest on and others will continue to haunt me long after I leave this room, hell. They'll follow me until the day I die..." Talon let out a soft sigh. "and probably long after too."

Melody came over. "Mom, we need to talk... Once and for all."

"Yes, we do," Talon answered quietly. "Is everyone ready.?"

Yeager came over as he wore a set of oven miss. "Ladies, dinner is ready..." he commented in a soft tone, suddenly glad he and Talon had left all the children with the Donos family this evening as he could feel the naked tension in the air. "I will begin plating up. If you'd all like to come to the table in a few minutes, I will be ready then." and with that, he withdrew, back into the kitchen in silence.

Melody regarded Yeager. "I'll help you, you and I need to chat anyway..." as the small-framed female followed the man who was her biological father into the kitchen.

"Of course Monique. I'd welcome your aid." Yeager answered quietly.

Meanwhile, Melody went over to the sofa's and she sat down. Sammy sat down next to her while Talon sat down in the single person sofa as she regarded her daughter with sad eyes. "What's on your mind Melody...?"

"I am confused mom... I don't know how else to say it, coming here has been anything but stable, first, there were the conflicting orders I got, then the telepathy incident where I thought you disowned me and then the constant feeding we've done, for months now... I am tired..."

"I know..." Talon answered. "Melody, would it help if I said what happened between your dad and me was simply a product of being young-"

"No it wasn't mom," Sammy commented. "You stepped up to the plate to help someone with a medical problem, you ended up with Melody for your trouble, you kept said pregnancy as you wanted to hear him out when he told you about his other kids... Your relationship with him was borne from fire and chaos... He needed help right then and there with no time for you to prepare or to even call or aid, had you done so, he would have died..." Sammy explained. "Melody, put yourself into mom's shoes here... Could you allow someone you have never met, to have sex with you and impregnate you just like that...?" she asked. "Could you Talon... Could I?" Sammy pressed. "I don't know... but then, I've never had to choose... You did."

"I don't know," Talon answered. "At the time, I thought it would be some really rough sex... I didn't know the insanity that would ensure..."

"But, mom... You still kept the baby..." Sammy answered. "You still gave Melody a chance for life... Because what happened wasn't her fault... It wasn't yours or Orthos's faulty either. Sometimes things just go that way..." ."
