Mission: Mission 82: It Is War’s Prize to Take All Vantage.
Location: Low Orbit of Zul'Drak Two - Zul'Drak system
Timeline: 0300Hrs - May 5th, 2392

Commander Ton'i smiled as she regarded the displays before her. "We're in position, all weapons charged," she reported to the commanding officer who was seated in his command chair near the front of the bridge. "Very well. Signal the fleet to decloak and open fire."

The female nodded, as three hundred Klingon warships began to decloak, space rippling around them as they appeared and began to open fire on the orbital drydocks and weapons platforms with massed weapons strikes, shattering platforms and docking scaffolds with equal measure.

The Klingon Commander grinned. "That is what victory looks like.. Death upon our enemies.!"

The remaining Gorn defense platforms fought bravely before they were picked off one at a time when suddenly there were several warp flashes as several Gorn warships appeared and began shooting at the Klingons left flank, shattering several Klingon warships in balls of metal fire which dissipated quickly but the outcome was not really in doubt as only forty or so Gorn ships attacked a force of over three hundred Klingon ships. The weapons fire between the two factions got to a level that was almost unbelievable as hundreds of warheads shot from the Gorn ships as they sped towards the Klingon targets down range, with impacts across dozens of Klingon ships, several of them suddenly exploded.

The Gorn knew they were overmatched but they were determined to fight for their homes and their worlds. Warlord Goran Warthunder growled softly. "Target those two damaged battleships. Do not let them get away but watch their port side. Remain alerted for flankers."

The Gorn officer he addressed, nodded his head. "Targeting them."

Warthunder was angry and everyone present knew it. "Withdraw. We need more ships and weapons, we can't win here.." the Gorn officers under his command accepted his statement as fact, so rather than argue with him, they simply complied with the order to withdraw.

More warheads sped from their launch rails on the Gorn ships as they wheeled around to disengage before the Gorn ships shot forward into warp as several hundred more warheads crashed into Klingon ships, both battleships that had been targeted were both shattered in spheres of metal fire. While the Gorn had been defeated in this battle, they succeeded in giving the Klingons a really bloody nose.

Warthunder rumbled. "Send a message to our allies. Let's see if they can help us with this problem."

Senior Ranger S'sogan Ravager nodded his massive head. "Contacting them now."

Meanwhile several light years away. The USS Shinano and her force that had been reinforced with several dozen new ships from the reserve force, moved forward at slow impulse while the repair crews were working around the clock to repair battle damage.

Fleet Captain Kell Donos regarded Division Admiral Talon Yeager as he handed her a PADD. "We have a request from the Gorn Seventeenth Assault Battalion to assist with the Klingon's offensive into the Zul'Drak System.

"Okay." Yeager nodded her head. "Call in your guys and let's put a plan together to carry out the request of our allies." the pregnant female responded with a smile. "I like sitting down, it takes the stress off of my back."

"Talon. you shouldn't-" Donos started but he was quickly halted with Yeager smiling and raising her hand "Be out here because I'm pregnant?" Yeager inquired lightly. "Well. It sucks but I can still serve and I'm not about to miss out on this."

"Fair enough," Donos responded before he tapped his combadge and carried out Talon's request, as it was she could have made it an order but she was not the formal type and those who served with her knew this from experience.

Several minutes later, as the last of the staff filed into the room, they quickly selected seats as Talon began her dog and pony show. "Alright, you've all heard that we've been requested to liberate the Zul'Drak system from a Klingon attack. My plan is simple as they only hit one section of the Systems shipyards, there are six other sets and as a result of us taking the time to get there, we are going to ambush them at either the second to last or the last set, either way. It'll suck for all involved."

Duran Syal nodded her head. "Considering time and distance do little to help us. Even though we are already underway for the destination."

"The Gorns defenses will assist us in this matter, they will buy us time so we can get into position to drop the hammer on the Klingons head from behind, but we can do it really hard." Xyler Danix commented with a smile. "We can get our guys into position and really make them suffer while we do it."

Captain Yeager nodded his head. "We can indeed but timing will be critical for this all to work, there is no sense making these plans if we're not there in time and the Klingons succeed in overrunning the system."

"Indeed," Nomek responded he was the ship's Chief of Security. "I'll have my guys ready to deploy to assist the Marines with securing infrastructure." he nodded to the female Colonel in the room. "Should it be Needed."

"It will be." Bronwynn Yamaguchi responded in a quiet tone. "I am sure of it. Besides, my troops and I will appreciate the assistance from your people Captain." she nodded.

James Yamaguchi smiled. "My guys and I will be ready to repair what the Klingons trash. It'll take some doing and we will need a Vishal to help us with repair efforts." he paused. "Admiral, we might be holding this system for some time to repair the orbital docks."

Talon nodded. "Securing then holding this system will suffice for now. I will contact Starfleet Command and inform them of our intentions regarding this matter. I highly suspect the Klingons will seek to contest this move by our forces."

"Let them." Captain Edward MacDougan commented. "They are poor losers and tend to take defeat poorly, they do not know how to lose and they fight battles that they prefer are easy," he explained. "We can use this against them."

"How so?" Lakaris Duval inquired with a smile.

"When we arrive in the system. Send a general hail timed to go out with our first assault, broadband so everyone will hear us, we insult the Klingons, call them names and generally insult them. Stupid things like how we will crush their faces into the mud and things like that."

"Ahh." the Bolian female suddenly had a juvenile moment. "Like our time in grade schools then?"

"Pretty much, yes."

Lenaris Dvald who was seated next to his wife chuckled softly. "It has the virtue of never having been tried. We can try it. What do you say, skipper?"

"Why not?" Donos responded, surprising everyone. "I've been longing to piss off some Klingons for awhile now. I could get behind this... Anything else?"

There was silence. "Alright. We attack as soon as we're within range, which should be in about an hour or so. So.. Let's get set up for this attack and let's show these bastards just who they are fucking with!."

Talon Yeager smiled. "Alright, dismissed everyone. Davijaan. A moment please."

Everyone in the room rose to their feet and began to file out of the two entrances whereas Yeager remained seated next to his wife. "Do you think this is a good idea?"

"Serving and quarreling with my pregnant wife as we warp into a war zone with my eldest daughter serving with us as your aide?" Yeager answered her. "No, but I will support you in this matter, the same as I have in any other." he smiled at her. "Stop worrying about things you can't deal with Talon. Focus on this battle and the fight to come. Deal with the aftermath if and when it gets here."

"You're right," Talon answered. "Well. we'd best get on with it then."

"Yep. I'm going to head up to flag ops and see what they have going for the battle plan to be distributed. You relax and try to rest."

"I'll do what I can but I'd best go with you." and with that, she rose to her feet. "Come on." as they left the room together.
