Mission: Mission 14: Rage Rage Rage Against the Dying of the Light
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 0800Hrs - April 20th, 2390

Captain Michael Hunt looked in the mirror for about the dozenth time that morning. Making sure his uniform lived up to scrutiny. This was his first official day as a Starship Captain while his ship was on it;s journey. He woke up earlier than he would have liked, it was Christmas morning syndrome. He always got up hours before his parents on Christmas morning, wanting to see the new toys he got that year. He got up, showered, shaved, ate breakfast and got dressed all before 0600 Hours and still had a couple hours to kill before his shift and the launch which he spent pacing around his quarters and inspecting his uniform in the mirror. He tugged on the bottom of his uniform top so much he was feeling like those Bridge Report videos of Captain Picard.

"It's fine Mike. Starfleet Command wouldn't have given you a command of your own if they didn't think you could handle it," Mike told himself in the mirror. Finally it was close enough for him to make his way to the bridge without projecting over-anxiousness. He left his quarters and made his way to the turbolift, "Bridge."

[0755 - Bridge]
The doors hissed open and a eager young Ensign was quick to call, "Captain on Deck!"

"As you were," Mike was quick to order. He stood in the center of the bridge, "Status report?"

Commander Telios Wintersnow looked as spry as ever, her horn's glinted in the reflection from the overhead lights and her hooves looked freshly clipped for the occasion. "We're more or less ready to go sir.... I am ninety-nine percent sure the engines won't explode upon departure.... though I am not a hundred percent certain.."

"Not exploding would be good," Hunt chuckled.

M'i'kee turned his chair to face Wintersnow, "I'm sure they'll be fine." He said before turning to Mike, "RCS thrusters are also ready, As is astrometrics, Helm stands ready for action captain. As soon as you give the word sir, we're ready for the off here.

Wintersnow regarded the Conn officer in silence, her comment had been in jest but she realized that this guy didn't have a sense of humor as she slapped her hand over her face.

[Engineering]
Maxwell heard the status reports and he peered down towards the console, and he nodded his head. At that one of his own engineers nodded his head and imputed the sequence. And then he saw the sequence come up on his screen to which he entered in the command pathways, the power feed from the docking rings severing. They were now under their own power relays. That was when he tapped his communication badge and grinned.

"Bridge. This is Engineering. We're under our own power and We're ready to cut the tethers and head out. Warp is available upon your command.... Let's make the fleet eat our dust." He commented as he let out a cackle of laughter, and looked up to the large warp core unit. "From the calm serenity of the open wind to the raging anger of a active volcano, All in the glory of one word." He preached, more to himself than to any one else that may have been listening.

Wintersnow smiled. "My god stand between you and harm, in all the empty spaces you must walk.." she noticed a few people looking at her. "What.. its an old Egyptian blessing"

[Science labs]
Down in the science labs Lieutenant Aabrak pressed his combadge in reply. " Everything ready to go down here captain."

[Bridge]
Mike went to sit in his command chair as the final status check reports came in, the turbolift doors opened as Commander Celeste Yamaguchi stepped onto the bridge. "Sickbay is flight ready..."

Joe looked up from his console: "Security is good to go and ready. All torpedoes accounted for."

"Ready and waiting to set new course." M'i'kee added.

Wintersnow checked her display. "All stations report ready, all support craft are secured as is all of our hangers." the Draenei explained. "All decks report ready..."

"Undock the ship," Mike ordered.

Wintersnow looked back at him, her cyan eyes shone with mirth as she nodded.
"Mr Pike, get me the Dockmaster."

Joe tapped a few buttons on his console:" Aye, Dockmaster"

"USS Shadow... you are clear to depart... and other then an old Egyptian blessing... I can't think of a thing..."

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "I don't understand" the taller then average human woman said, puzzled.

"He meant... that may god go between you and harm... and all the empty places you must walk.." Wintersnow commented quietly.
"A rather apt statement... would you not agree Doctor?"

Celeste nodded her head as she regarded the Draenei. "I do... yes."

Wintersnow looked from Celeste Yamaguchi to Captain Hunt, waiting for his orders. "Sir. request permission to get underway?"
