Mission:
Mission 12: Hitchhikers are Escaped Convicts
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 1700Hrs - February 16th, 2390
Jack Ash-tor walks from the bar in the officers mess over to the window and looks out of it the depth of space then across the closest star flys the USS Shadow showing signs of battle damage but coming into space dock under her own speed.
Jack puts his drink down on the table, he then stands to attention and salutes the USS Shadow, he then picks up his drink once again and swiftly finishes it then walks out of the mess.
Meanwhile on the USS Courageous Bridge, Captain Yamaguchi watched with careful interest in how the USS Shadow was proceeding as she approached her final destination but Yamaguchi for his part wasn't sure if she was going into the Spacedock or to one of the orbiting space frames, he turned his head. "Bear ease off our approach." he turned his head. "Beth, get us clearance to tie up to the outside of the base..."
Bear nodded his head, his only response as Beth Kurleenbear smiled. "Getting us clearance now sir." and with that she went to work.
A moment or so later she nodded. "Thank you Dock control. USS Courageous out." she turned. "Sir we're cleared for outer airlock four. sending coordinates to the helm."
Bear's response was simple. "I have the beacon, taking us in."
Meanwhile aboard the USS Shadow, Commander Celeste Yamaguchi sighed softly, she had forgotten how much she despised this aspect of her job, writing death certificates, while doing it she generally found out more information about the decedent then she ever wanted to know, she had six done and was processing the rest of them, going through them one at a time.
There was the matter of the letter to their next of kin, fortunately she knew who to see and they lived on Starbase 400, this made her life easier and harder, both at the same time.
Down in the ships sickbay the cardassian science officer couldn't help but laugh as he stared at the mirror at his new eyes. Bleached to a bright silver colour by his early bandage removal. Some times he could help but laugh at what the universe threw at him. He really had no idea what he was going to do will the ship was being repaired. Maybe he'd have a read through one of the novels he'd been meaning to read. That was if he could leave the sickbay.
Joe stood at his station monitoring everything as the ship headed for Star Base 400.
The doors to sickbay opened as Commander Celeste Yamaguchi sighed softly, she knew it was good to see family but she also knew what was going on behind the scenes, Jake meant well, she knew her cousin very well but she needed time to sort things out for herself.
She went into her office as she ordered. "Computer, a pitcher of Orange punch." she smiled "With Ice." she ;lifted the beverage when it appeared in the replicator, she then brought it over to her desk before starting her paperwork.
Armory
Corporal Dillon scroll up and down the PADD with a frustrated look on his face. "Where is Assault Phaser number 27?" Dillon asked.
"Captain Daisy broke it on that Orion who shot me." Ryi answered.
"Oh, right." Dillon replied while typing on his PADD. "And why are you still put on light duty? Montoya got the same wounds as you and has already returned to full duty." Dillon asked.
"Because we're different." Ryi answered.
"Because your female?" Dillon asked, confused.
"No, because I'm Andorian. Phasers hurt us more. Besides I'm a zhen." Ryi informed Dillon.
"Oh, okay." Dillon said, still confused. "You just told me you were Andorian, now your a Zhen. Silly girl." Dillon thought to himself.
"Aren't you doing Sergeant Kyndricks Job?" Ryi asked.
"The good sergeant is getting transferred to a new ship. His wife is assigned there and she just had their kid. He wants to be close to his family. Our Vulcan platoon leader is getting reassigned to a cushy staff position. " Dillon explained. "Once we get to SB 400 we're gonna get a new senior noncom." he added.
"Oh, do you know what he is like?" Ryi asked.
"Not a clue. I'd imagine he is like most Marine NCOs. He has a severe hair cut, screams a lot, survives off coffee, and probably has a cigar clinched in his teeth." Dillon answered.
-U.S.S. Shadow - Bridge-
Maxwell peered over the latest damage estimations and he shook his head. Even with the help of their sister ship, things were not looking to be easy. He was down two crews. The Gravity plates on the last deck were fluxuating all over the place. Some failing others being reversed and sending people to the ceilings. That was always healthy for a person. Someone hitting the ground. There were power fluxuations all accross the board, and with the warp core down and needing to be primed once more, his days were filling up. So there he was stepping over the threshold, rubbing his red eyes moving accross the bridge and tot he Captains Ready Room, and paused, pressing the chime to enter.
Yoshi had walked out when the door chimmed, "Can I help you Commander?" She asked as they were getting close to Starbase 400 and wanted to be on the bridge when they dock.
Maxwell had been rubbing his eyes clear of the itchy feeling behind the lids of his eyes. And when the door slipped open to reveal the captain and then she spoke to him. The fact that he took flight three more feet off of the ground and away from the door and the captain showed that he had been thinking of something else and that she had startled him. "HO-O-O-O-LY MONKEY!" He criedout and then he shook his head, slapping his palm over his eyes and dragging it down and over his head. "Seriously Woman! You gotta give a man a bit of warning when you decide to just pop out of the wall like that!" He grumbled shaking his head as he offered her the pad. "The butchers bill." He commented handing it to the captain.
She looked at him, "You chimed my door didn't you? I just happened to be walking out when you pushed it." Yoshi stated as she walked over to the Command Chair. She took the padd from him and glanced it over. "Thank you Commander. We will be arriving at Starbase 400 here shortly." Yoshi added just as the ops officer spoke up. We have arrived at Starbase 400 and we are recieving a hail from them sir." Came the reply.
"Open channel," Yoshi stated. "Welcome home USS Shadow, the space doors are opening and once you have reached the inter markers we will take over pulling you the rest of the way in." Came spacedock control. "Thank you," Yoshi smiled as they started into the Starbase.
Once they reached the inter markers the Starbase had take over and locked on to the Shadow. "Power down Impulse engines." She ordered as the ship powered down. Once they were completely docked she had all power except for major operations shut down.
Meanwhile in sickbay, Celeste walked over to where Lieutenant Aabrak Duka was sitting as she smiled at him. "Well Lieutenant, how do you feel?" she inquired. "If you're feeling up to it, I'm going to see how you're eyes work.... with an eye exam."
"Attention crew of the USS Shadow we have docked at Starbase 400 you are all free to go aboard the Starbase and enjoy some R&R while the ship is being repaired. I just want to thank everyone who worked together to complete this mission. You all have earned it Captain Baldwin-Webb out." Yoshi stated then stood up and walked into her ready room.
