Mission: Mission 3: Quantum of Solace
Location: Promenade - Starbase 400
Timeline: 1745Hrs - July 25th, 2388

Jake and Gabrielle shared a look as Jake shook his head. "Torilla and I taught her control, same as we taught all of our children." he indicated Gabrielbeside him. "Racheal wouldn't hurt him unless he did something stupid to her like try to smack her..."

Gabriel chuckled softly. "Considering he's closer in size and mass to myself... I think it would be a very interesting fight more than anything else..."
over her... I wonder if she wants to teach him in martial arts..?" he looked over
Jake nodded. "She outclasses him on the battlefield but he has size and leverage at Alex. "On a side note. I'm comfortable with Racheal seeing your son.. she might be my youngest but I have to have faith she will make the right choices for herself... Torilla and I will let Racheal handle whatever issues arise by herself without getting involved..."

Gabriel nodded. "Paul seems bright and stable... He also seems mature.. it'll be good for Racheal to meet someone who is in the same room as her.," he
commented. "Alex... I might be away most of the time but I know my siblings."

"Good to know."

"Racheal is a child, for now... I encourage her and so does Torilla... we want her to have the space she needs to develop and grow like any child..."

"That's fine. I have no problem with that." Alex reassured them.

"Alrighty," Jake responded. "Hopefully no serious problems will arise... while Torilla is off the station... will you be okay with her staying with you?"

She nodded, "As long as she and Paul show some restraint when it comes to certain things if you get what I mean."

Gabriel chuckled softly as he nodded his head he was no stranger to what Alex was referring to as Jake commented. "I don't think you have anything to worry about... Racheal is just maturing...she's also not the type to rush anything anyway.."

"Good. But I can't guarantee that Paul won't try to. After all, he is almost 16. Boys that age, their hormones are raging."

Jake chuckled softly. "Racheal will be fine... besides.. she can handle a little attention.."

Gabriel smiled. "Paul won't need to worry about much... Racheal might be half his size but I don't think we need to worry about it... from what I saw of him... he seems more stable than most guys our age." he added, reminding the Captain that he was about Paul's age. "what do you reckon Dad?"

Jake paused as he thought about it. "let's leave Racheal and Paul to handle themselves together and let them handle their problems their way...if he is interested, she will know soon enough.."

"I am still going to give the talk to Paul though. I think he's old enough now."

Gabriel nodded evenly as his eyes suddenly seemed to develop that 'distant' look. "Someday I'll be having that speech with my own.." he turned to his father. "I got the news this morning. I apologize for not sharing sooner."

Jake's smile widened into a grin. "So I'm going to be a grandfather then...Ahh Gabe, that's fantastic news..." and with that father and son embraced, the fact that Gabriel shared the news so freely meant he respected her and that he did not mind her knowing.

"Congratulations," Alex said with a smile.

"Well, Savannah and I weren't exactly trying... It just happened but... we will manage." Gabriel explained. "She's in all the same classes as me.... for now anyway." he sighed. "the academy frowns on pregnancies in school but there is no real written law against them.."

Jake nodded. "Torilla and I faced similar battles in our time... if they hold her back... what will you do?"

"I'm not sure," Gabriel admitted. "What do you think sir?" he asked Alex.

"I wouldn't worry about it. You have too many people who know the higher-ups."

Gabriel smiled evenly as he and Jake shared a smile. "They are not as influential as one might think... regs are regs for a reason.... and getting pregnant at the academy is generally not a wise plan..." Gabriel explained.

"It's not wise but it happened. They'll get over it." Alex hated them.

Gabriel nodded, clearly he understood what she was and what not saying. "Celeste said more or less the same thing, though with Klingon profanity mixed in.... that woman has no filter whatsoever and her temper is simply breathtaking... but I couldn't imagine my life without her. You two may end up meeting someday... she wanted Marines but they thought she was crazy.. she uses Klingon martial arts training to work out... it intimidates the Marine officer cadets..."

Alex nodded, "That will do it."

Gabriel nodded. "I've been trying to get her to tone it down and she's listening, but she feels she needs to prove herself to everyone within range,"
he commented as Jake smiled. "Your mother was more or less the same way when she was your age... Celeste will come around when she's ready.."

Gabriel nodded. "Yeah..."

"I think so too." Alex didn't know what else to say.

Jake noticed and decided to change the subject. "So Alex.... how's Paul doing?" he inquired.

"Paul is doing great. I think that he is a lot happier now that he has found a new friend." She was, of course, referring to Racheal.

Gabriel smiled as Jake commented. "Racheal seems more cheerful as well. I was worried that she would not settle down on the base.."

"I felt the same about Paul. I'm glad they found each other."

Jake smiled. "Even if she is a little young... but she will do what's best for herself, I just have to have faith that she won't rush into it..." he turned to Gabriel. "And you won't have to worry about her either Gabe... "

"Am I that obvious?" the younger male responded.

Jake smiled as he looked at Alex he wanted her to answer it.

"She won't. Not on my watch." Alex smiled.

Jake smiled as Gabriel nodded. "Alright.. you two win..." he commented. "but in all respects... I don't think I need to worry.."

"No, you don't. You can count on it."

Gabriel smiled at Alex. "You are too kind Captain." he turned to his father as Elizabeth arrived. "Hey, guys... Captain." Beth commented.

Alex nodded, "Hey."

Jake looked at his daughter as he greeted her. "What's new?"

"Not much Dad," Beth responded. "Am I interrupting?" the question was asked towards Alex.

"Not at all. I probably should get going." Alex looked at the three of them.

Beth smiled. "Of course sir." as Jake added. "We will not take up any more of your time Alex." as he turned his head. "So... where to have dinner?"

"There is that new restaurant that just opened up nearby, we could eat there.." Gabriel commented as they noticed Alex moving off.
