Mission:
Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity
Timeline: 0800Hrs - October 7th, 2393
Commander Victoria Yamamguchiu regarded the Marine officer before her, he looked every inch as the standard marine type except he was expressive, relaxed, cool and controlled. Not like the Marines that she had previously worked with, she had found this to be something of a refreshing change from what she was used to dealing with, the small group were meeting in his office, which was an officer, set up similar in style to the Captain's ready room but almost two-thirds of the size of the Captain's ready room. "The troops we can be expected to face will be occupation troops, not front line troops and most certainly not reservists..."
"So, category Charlie troops then..." McTaggert answered. "Lovely..." he commented. "Any idea as to their makeup and the like?"
Ouros placed the drink she had just taken a sip from, back onto the tabletop before she answered. "They will be led specifically by a human... Or someone approved of by the state... But in this case, though it'll be a human," she explained with a nod of her head. "He will lead from inside the headquarters facility... If worst-case scenario takes place and we need to nuke the facility, the backup is a dozen miles to the north, in a small reinforced bunker," she explained. "I'd like to take a dozen guys and remove the bunker from contention."
"Can you do it?" McTaggert answered in a light tone.
"I've been inside many of them in my previous service." the younger woman explained. "I know they all have a uniform design, the one on Forcas Three to Deneva, all share the same designs... This one will be no different."
McTaggert nodded as Horner smiled. "Do it."
"Alright, I'll take one squad of recon commandos and deal with the issue, take the place, plant some explosives and then evac, then blow the place sky-high." she paused. "I'll also be in a position to make a move on the armory or the vehicle sheds..." as she slowly smiled. "If I'm able to threaten either. then they will come at me in force... By that point, you should have already won... Keep in mind that these guys are occupation troops and not natives.."
"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Horner inquired.
Duval was the one who answered that statement. "It means you might see things you won't wanna see... Many of these troops are fat and bored, thanks to years of state-sponsored debauchery." he shot a quick look at Enyo as he said his statement.
Enyo nodded. "We're going to have to be ready for dozens, maybe even hundreds of wounded," she explained. "That'll be just the physical side of things only... The mental stuff, that will be the true nightmare of this mission..." she sighed softly. "We'll be dealing with anyone and everyone from all ages, from infants to ancient citizens over a century of age... Now these two camps specifically, are for human prisoners... Criminals of the state, such a wonderfully vague term that can mean whatever one wishes it to mean." she sighed softly. "My two children will be here... Hoprfrully alive... But they will not be well..."
she seemed to zone out for a moment but she shook herself loose from her brief trance after only a moment.
T'Shaamet regarded Enyo. "I can assist with their mental health... If required... I suspect I will be participating in much of the relief efforts... The younger the minds, the more I can reach them."
McTaggert regarded his skipper, he knew full well what she was offering and how freely she was offering it. "Skipper... Is this wise?"
"Wise... No." T'Shaamet answered quietly. "The needs of the many outweigh my own needs... I will assist with this effort."
Horner regarded her skipper, she only wished she could be so free with her own gifts but then she realized that she could assist in other ways. "I can assist too... But your efforts might be more successful than mine..." she admitted.
"Alright," Duval commented. "We need to deal with that starbase and the weapons platforms..."
"Indeed. The Infinity will no longer need to be so restrained in their efforts... So we can come in and try talking... If that fails then we can unload everything we have and at least disable the Starbase weapons systems, this will permit us free reign over the planet surface... The weapons platforms will be no obstacle, those we'll simply exterminate."
Ouros nodded her head in agreement. "The base might have a ship or two assigned here... We can cripple or destroy them as well... Then we will turn our efforts to the ground battle but the sooner we take out that command bunker and the backup, the easier our efforts will be."
"I'll take the command bunker," McTaggart answered. "First Battalion will drop onto both camps at the same time... and attack both," he commented.
Enyo paused. "I'd like to lead the assault on Black Twelve..." she commented lightly.
"Why you?" McTaggert inquired.
"Because Commander Duval is needed here and Ouros is handling the backup site. I have a very serious stake in this mission... I wish to see it through to the end."
T'Shaamet nodded her head. "So you shall. Colonel, do you have issues or concerns?"
"None, Just do me one favor... Make the local Commander squirm, if you catch him. I would like him alive... so I can have a word with him."
Enyo slowly grinned at McTaggert. "Consider it arranged..."
"Alright," McTaggert answered as he smiled. "Then Captain..." he addressed T'Shaamet directly. "We are ready to start this little rumble in the jungle... With your blessing sir?"
"My blessing... is given, we will be there in less than an hour... They will have either released their prisoners... or we will make them." as the Vulcan grinned at the gathering present.
