Withdrawal Under a Shroud

Posted on Fri Jan 1st, 2021 @ 2:18pm by Captain Sarah Horner & Commander Victoria 'Enyo' Yamaguchi & Commander Ethan "Hardcase" Duval & Lieutenant Commander Ouros Yamaguchi & Commodore T'Shaamet 'Runt' Antilles

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Infinity
Timeline: 1300Hrs - October 6th, 2393

Commander Victoria Yamaguchi regarded the Commander of the USS Infinity while she, along with Captain Ouros Yamaguchi, along with Commanders Ethan Duval and Sarah Horner were all in the Captain's ready room, making their plans and collaborating on their efforts in regards to their various missions. Enyo regarded T'Shaamet who was sitting behind her desk. "Commodore, we've completed our primary mission objectives, we can turn our attention now to Labour Camps Black Twelve and Black Fifteen..." she explained. "These are the various sites which the survivors of the Shield of Vega's crew would have ended up."

"Indeed," T'Shaamet answered evenly. "Where are they located?. Also, do we know the defenses?" she inquired

Duval nodded. "The defenses are considerable, six weapons emplacements, a small space station and two starships of Excelsior level capabilities, so I'm going to assume that both ships are Excelsiors and proceed accordingly," he reported with a nod of his head. "It's not much for infinity to handle... but the Starbase will cause us major issues though."

Captain Yamaguchi handled the other half of T'Shaamet's question. "The two labor camps are both located on the same planet... Retep Three..." she commented. "We can be there about this time tomorrow... Or about ten minutes by way of our slipstream drive." Ouros explained her report.

Horner regarded the three alternate universe personel gathered. "Why not wait until this April Yamamguchi character says and does with her power..." she commented. "Do not think me insensitive to your plight Commander... But how many people are we talking of recovering?" she commented.

"About twenty-two hundred or so... They will be random Captain, all walks of life from toddlers to ancient citizens." Duval explained evenly. "To be blunt Captain... The judgment of the three of us right now is compromised on the matter... I had an old girlfriend who went missing in one of these camps... I discovered later that she was used as a sexual plaything and then tortured and slain..."

Enyo nodded in agreement. "I have two children down there Captain... I helped you, will you not assist me?" she inquired. She fought to keep her emotions under control as she had not seen any of all of this coming, the slightly manic look in her eye bespoke much and none of it was good.

"I will," T'Shaamet answered. "Because I am unique in my understanding of your situation... I assisted her." the small Vulcan indicated Ouros with her hand. "With a few of her various issues... I will also assist your children with their issues... Why?" she asked a visibly shocked Enyo. "Because its the right thing to do... I will not allow my guilt to haunt me because I refused to act to end the suffering of a people I do not know..." she paused. "Your claim has merit Commander... Your service to the Federation has been noteworthy..." she regarded Enyo. "You've shown your worth time and again. So have you Commander Duval... Captain Yamaguchi... The least I can do... is address this wrong that's been done to you... But you also need to decide if you will remain here in this reality after we close the portal... or remain with us..."

Ouros answered first. "You helped relieve the mind of my burdens... I will remain... Its almost a stupid question. I gave your Starfleet my word and my oath... I will not walk out now... Besides... I will not leave the only family I have left, waiting in my home reality... which isn't this one." Ouros paused. "I have a father I can respect... Who respects me... I've never had that before... and I will keep it..." she sighed softly.

"Agreed," Duval answered. "Besides. I promised the woman I love, that I would come back to her and to our child..." He paused a moment. "That's if she is with a child." he then slowly smiled.

Enyo regarded T'Shaamet. "In your Federation. I am more than a slave wearing a uniform. I was given command of my own ship... and the self-respect that his misbegotten reality had taken from me... I wish to remain in the service of people who care about each other rather than the mission along with their own careers and fortunes...."

"Alright then..." T'Shaamet answered as she sat back in her chair. She closed her eyes as she mentally cleared her mind, the last few minutes had been long and detailed, she had not expected to feel the onslaught of emotions as she listened to the other people present in the room speak their minds. "Indeed..." she answered quietly.

Horner leaned forward. "So... Now that we have our issues with each other resolved... let's discuss how we can best achieve the liberation of these two camps, with as few losses as possible," she commented with a smile.
