"I did," Yeager commented with a smile. "I commanded not one but two ships of my own... The USS Hyperion and the USS Miranda-B." Yeager answered quietly. "She was a good ship of the line." he smiled. "But I found that I got more out of life when I was raising Sammy, I enjoyed raising her more then I enjoyed my command." he paused. "Is that such a surprise?"

"To be honest. Yes... I didn't expect anyone would like raising kids more than having a command..." Deepshadow paused. "So... Why did you give up your command...?" it was the million-dollar question that had been burning on her mind for months now and she needed an answer desperately, she has to ask.

Yeager knew what she was going to ask, the look in his eye said as much. "Why I would give up my command to follow Talon around the cosmos?," he inquired. "That's simple to answer really... I like having a family of my own. Oh, I've already had a command of my own, and I am command qualified so I can go request a ship of the line at any time I choose... But Talon needed a steady pair of hands with the kids and our children deserved a stable father figure in their lives." Yeager explained as he indicated the chair across from him. "Sit down Monique. Let me explain a little backstory..." as Yeager slid his massive form onto one of the chairs, the small female present did likewise. "Jerome Hunt left an awful lot of damage in his wake, not only to Talon but to her children too, he tried to keep Noel away from her mother. She has major trust issues with me as a result of said actions... I would not be surprised if Hunt had abused Noel physically as well as emotionally but Noel has not said anything and I do not intend to press her." Yeager sighed softly. "If Noel feels she can come to me with these concerns and issues... Then I will be there to help her as best as I can, the same as I always have... But I've been giving her space to call her own. I treat her with respect and she's been slowly coming to terms with what she's been through."

Deepshadow knew of most of the specifics, she had seen it on the news and through the extranet. But she held her silence as she wanted to know what Yeager would tell her.

"Noel has been screwed and abused," he added. "I aim to ensure that nobody comes near her ever again... and I'm going to teach her how to defend herself, when she is ready to learn... Which may be never." Yeager admitted the last few words only grudgingly.

Deepshadow nodded. "Sounds like she's got a lot of baggage."

"She does but Noel is family to me. I am not sure if she knows that..." Yeager paused. "I don't know if she appreciated my efforts on her behalf..."

"She does. She has to... Noel can't be that blind or stupid." Deepshadow answered quietly. "What's she like?"

"She's highly intelligent... She's quick... But she is quiet, she keeps to herself and she doesn't use a lot of words..." Yeager paused. "She tends to do well in school but she's stuck wearing these heavy-duty plastic gloves because she can discharge electricity like an electric eel."

Dewepshadow knew the mental damage that children took could be much more serious then one let on in the first place. She nodded as she regarded him. "Hopefully Noel will come around..."

Yeager sighed softly. "Hopefully... What makes matters worse is that Jerome Hunt didn't want the children, he wanted to make Talon suffer, he knew she would move on and find someone else who could be better at being a parent than he was, so he decided to salt the fields after he left," he explained. "Talon won though, as Hunt, in the end, wanted concessions from Talon... One of them would be that she would never attempt to contact him ever again. He wanted a career and a wife who was obedient and would do as he wished." he explained. "Talon and I reunited after two months after she dropped the divorce proceedings... and she had friends who she could ask to handle the kids while she was dealing with that unholy mess... The Miranda was in for refitting at that point so I turned in her command as I wanted to work on my skills in other areas. This was all a couple of years ago so I became the head of Strategic Operations for the Roanoke and her battlegroup. Talon's command was as an attachment and our relationship grew from there." Yeager explained softly. "I dropped my own command and opted to work with Talon both professionally and personally because I love her."
