"Melody, I will get you some answers regarding Orthos soon enough... But do keep in mind, Iason made it very clear that I was not welcome in his household and your dad was still mourning the loss of his wife, I wasn't willing to intrude where I wasn't welcome and while Orthos and I have a wonderful relationship, his children were less than clear and welcoming on the matter, what did not help as they were all older then I was." she paused. "Melody, you've also been in my shoes no less... How would you feel if dad brought home a younger woman then you with a baby in her arms that he had with her?"

Melody paused. "Daisy is a couple of years older then I am," she admitted. "I am still unsure of what to make of this detail... Dad seems to like younger women..." she admitted.

"That's not a bad thing, your dad is still quite young in the grand scheme of things... Of course he will move on after Vanessa and after me." Talon answered with a smile.

Sammy held her silence as she was living this situation every day, only Talon wasn't younger then she was, Talon was about her father's age so she didn't have that issue to concern herself with. "I can only imagine the issues that Noel deals with..."

Talon nodded her head in silence. "Yes... An alien girl who looks human except she has the abilities of an electric eel. Raised as a human, by humans... Simply because we don't have any of her kin around to handle the matter..." Talon sighed softly. "She accepts me as her mother and she is my child... But I know she has her own special issues and concerns I need to consider and address..."

"Is Noel settling in mom?" Melody inquired.

"She is... But she's Not as social as she used to be, being in foster care... Being lied to and betrayed... That'll do it..." Talon sighed softly. "I'm glad Jerome Hunt is dead... I would happily murder him for this." she let out a sigh.

Melody grinned. "Still, he's dead and good riddance to the bastard..."

"Amen..." Sammy commented. "Mom, you don't need that poison in your life... Go take dad to bed and fuck him into next week, really get the rage out of your system and be done with it." Sammy suddenly grinned at the woman she had come to call her mother. It was also clear that Sammy could discuss any subject with her father, even sex.

"Oh my, how lewd..." Talon commented, more as a joke than anything else. "But I will do just that... I expect to walk funny for a month."

Melody smiled, she couldn't help herself as she started laughing. Her mother was very open about just about any subject that one could name or mention and she knew this since she was a little girl.

"Melody." Talon addressed her child. "Orthos is my best friend. He's one of the greatest friends I've ever had, he's always had my back and I have regrets about my relationship with him, he knows this... Which is why he wants to ensure that my relationship with him remains on good terms..." Talon paused. "You've heard the old tales about not fucking your roommate... Well, I ran afoul of that little issue... Orthos was more my roommate than anything else, he knew this and was willing to tolerate my issues... But then we could at least enjoy each other's company too."

Sammy chuckled softly. Melody smiled. "Well. There was that..."

Talon paused as she shifted her attention over to where Monique and Davijaan were sitting at the table, clearly having their own conversation. "Sammy, what's going on with you and your dad.?"

"Most of it you already know... But I've been reluctant to bring it up. I don't want to piss him off again... Last time I brought it up... It ended with both of us getting angry with the other."

"Do you want me to bring it up?" Talon inquired gently. "When he and I are alone I mean?"

"Sure... I don't see what harm it could do, for you to ask him..." Sammy answered, clearly she had become comfortable with the matter at hand and where things were at the present time. "But please... do me a favor and wait until I'm gone... I don't need him getting in my face over dinner," she asked.

"Okay." Talon nodded her head. "I'll let it be until later, your dad and I can hammer something out... But eventually, you two will need to forge a peace between you that both can live with."

"I know... I'm... I'm not strong enough to deal with it now... Maybe later... After, I've had a chance to work out what I want to say and how I want to word it..." Sammy knew it sounded flimsy, even in her own ears but it would give her a chance to wor things out with herself. Talon smiled. "I understand sweetie if you need help with matters. We're all here for you."

"I appreciate that mom," Sammy answered like it was new to her.
