Mission: Mission 87: Torilla Returns
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1000Hrs May 28th, 2392

The event on the USS Dreamcrusher was a somber one but then it had been eleven days since the death of Captain Torilla Yamaguchi and one only needed to look into the eyes of the people gathered at the table to see their pain, their grief, and their rage.

Lieutenant Elizabeth Yamaguchi was sitting in silence, she had been planning the memorial service but she had found over the last few days that she simply couldn't cope with the demands of the event in question, it was too much for her to handle and her heart simply couldn't handle the demand of it.

Kameron wasn't telepathic but he knew how devastated his wife was over what happened to Torilla and while he had tried to help, he too was numb with his own pain as Torilla had been a second mother to him as well.

Gabriel Yamaguchi spent most of his time simply staring off into space, stuck inside his own private hell, he interacted with people only when he had to and he had simply stopped being the social animal that he had used to be. "I don't know what to do anymore."

Savannah was seated next to her husband, she was likewise trying to help him along as Kameron was for her sister-in-law but she too, was heartbroken over her own loss.

Torilla had been the only mother figure Savannah had ever known and she had no idea whatsoever of how to process the news, let alone digest it. She had simply become closed off from everyone, even some of the family too as she simply didn't know how to process her loss.

Elizabeth nodded her head, fighting off tears but that was her normal response now, she was ensnared in the trap of her own pain and grief, at times she felt like she was drowning in it. "I know.. I'm. lost."

Kameron sighed softly as the waitress came over. "Can I get ya anything?"

"Just four glasses of water please.." Kameron responded softly before he made the choice to order for everyone. "One extra large deep dish pizza with." he paused a moment. "You know what?. Throw everything you have onto it. meat, salami, pepperoni, all the kinds of cheese you have. Also, two large pitchers of soda, preferably cola if you have it but ginger ale if you don't"

"Alright.. " the waitress knew instantly something was very wrong but she opted to not press for specifics. "Okay. one extra large deep dish with all the fixings, coming up." she then withdrew.

Elizabeth was silently grateful that her husband had decided to order lunch and dinner combined as she knew that everyone present wouldn't eat but they did need to eat. "Guys. When was the last time that any of us had a decent meal?" Kameron inquired of the group before him.

"Too long," Gabriel responded. "I've... not been hungry.."

"Me neither," Savannah responded.

Kameron smiled. "Well guys, let's eat then. Let's eat and try to figure out our next move." were the words that Kameron settled on a moment later.

Elizabeth nodded. "Agreed. But we should discuss the memorial service."

"Mom had no kin back on New Halanna. Just us." Gabriel responded. "And dad and all the other Yamaguchi's. Dad gave mom a family to call her own."

"Yes, he did," Kameron answered. "Mom also accepted others into her family. People like me and you." he indicated Savannah as he spoke. "As long as we remember her, she'll always be with us, in this room." he paused. "I believe then when we leave a place, a part of that place goes with us and a part of us is left behind." he paused a moment. "Go anywhere when it's quiet and soon you will hear every conversation, every thought, and whisper echo through these halls long after we are gone."

Elizabeth smiled even as new tear tears trailed down her face. "Mom left us all a powerful legacy, each other."

Just then, the doors to the lounge opened and in walked a small Kurokuri looking being. This person had red wolf-like fur patterns and bright yellow eyes that missed nothing, also this person's footfalls were light and soft as the being looked left and then right, quickly spotting her quarry before making its way through the crowd before the being came to a stop before the table. "Hello... May I join you?" the being inquired.

Elizabeth slowly turned her head before she indicated a chair. "Sure. Be our guest," she responded for lack of anything better to say.

The Kurokuri moved so she could sit down on the chair. "Soft and plushy, not how I remembered them." the being commented. "I thought I'd find you here." before the turned a rather confused Elizabeth Yamaguchi. "You always preferred this table over all others in this room. It's the view."

"Wait, who are you.." Gabriel inquired.

"I'm your mother... Torilla." the being responded. "It's complicated." the small female added a moment later. "Let's just say, I've had some work done."

"What?" Kameron inquired softly. "That's impossible."

"The Akurians have the technology and I'm not alone in this little disaster that's brewing," she explained. "Allow me to explain before you judge that I have gone mad with whatever you want to dream up," Torilla commented.

Elizabeth nodded. "Gabe, it's mom."

Gabriel wasn't convinced and the look in his eye was clear as glass. "Nobody has medical tech that good."

"Well these guys do." the small being responded. "I am indeed Torilla Yamaguchi, returned from the dead or whatever the afterlife is called." she then let out a sigh. "One could argue that I had a religious experience but I will skip the details. I'll keep those to myself."

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, she clearly wanted to believe that this was her mother but she wasn't sure. "I remain unconvinced," she admitted

Kameron regarded the small being. "How did you feel when Elizabeth and I were married?". He decided to roll the dice and see if this being really was Torilla. He had to be sure.

"Honestly?" the Kurokuri inquired. "I was angry that you two had denied me the right to be there to be there for the event in question. Your father wasn't as angry as I was." she paused. "I, however, knew it was your right. But that did not mean I had to like it.." Torilla explained.

Kameron smiled. "You hated me for it," he responded.

"I was enraged with you for it." the small being responded. "I was forced to let it go because it wasn't my place to demand the right to be there... I didn't like it though and neither did Jake. I wasn't sure however of who was angrier... Your father or me."

"I'm convinced," Elizabeth responded quietly.

Savannah gently bit her lip before she inquired. "Where was I when Gideon was born?" she inquired. "and what was I doing at the time?"

"You were attending a bachelorette party, wearing a little black cocktail dress and you had been ignoring the contractions for awhile beforehand. You delivered your son in the middle of the party." Torilla didn't even hesitate. "That was after you almost fainted at the dessert table. I believe you were looking for the drinks table." she paused.

"Yeah. Who else was there?" Savannah inquired.

"Everyone was. You, me, Gabe. Elizabeth and Rachael. Jake was on the Courageous at the time finishing his paperwork from his previous patrol." again, Torilla didn't hesitate.

"What else.?"

"I was the one who picked you up and had you beamed to sickbay, along with Doctor Brislan in attendance. I placed you on a bed before I had Gabriel called down. I then sat with you as you went through labor, Gabe joined me there a few minutes later. Jake was late but he was called as well."

"Guys, the foods here. Let's eat." Elizabeth commented gently. "So. we eat, drink and be merry, no matter what it takes," Kameron added. "Guys. If this is indeed mom then we have a good deal to be thankful for." Elizabeth chipped in.

Gabriel said nothing as he turned his attention to the food. Savannah noticed his uncharacteristic silence which was unusual for him but she let it be for now.
