Mission: Mission 85: My Soul's in Arms, and Eager for the Fray
Location: USS Stalingrad - Near the Federation / Klingon Border.
Timeline: 1200Hrs - May 26th, 2392

Captain Marie Yamaguchi was seated in her command chair. "Stalingrad to Khalests Fate. How's she holding up?" the middle-aged human female inquired over the com system. "I'm almost certain this will work as intended." came the response that Marie had been half expecting and half dreading.

"Will it work as planned?" Noros inquired.

"Oh yes, skipper. I promise that this old bird will do her work. Just as we planned." M'Krrest explained. "Trouble is. She can't take any real hits to her nose, know what I'm saying?"

Yamaguchi shifted her attention to Noros as he winced and covered his face with his hand. "This is never gonna work."

"Aww, this is gonna be a piece of cake!" came the expected response.

Yamaguchi chuckled softly. "Ken, have our ships start their engines, tell them to proceed to the target. Helm, wait one minute exactly, then take us there as well but have us come up behind the moon." Yamaguchi's grin suddenly widened. "Just don't hit the moon of course."

Lieutenant Zheng Jet tossed in. "Go on, hit the moon. I dare ya!" he jested before he laughed. "I'm sure the skipper won't mind"

Lieutenant Kell Stormrage who was the ship's Chief Conn Officer, simply sighed. "No. That is just not funny, at all... Like ever."

The man at Operations simply laughed as Stormrage proceeded to began working on his panel. "One shot warp hop, coming right up skipper." and with that, the stars elongated into lines. "We're on our way, destination in four minutes," he reported crisply.

Yamaguchi settled in to wait. "Where is the Freighter?"

"Heading two six five, mark one one." Zheng Jet responded. "Distance forty thousand kilometers and slowly dropping away," he added.

Stormrage added. "Destination in sixty seconds."

"Star powering down this ship," Noros added. "I want to appear as nothing, other than wishes, prayers and death itself."

"I'll remember you said that." Lieutenant Raeven commented. "We are entering the Klingon bases sensor range, they are not detecting us." the human woman spoke up, she had long white hair but had a youthful look so it intimidated and bothered people that she looked strange, at least in their eyes anyway. "Skipper, our other ships have engaged the Klingons," Raeven added a moment later

"Good," Yamaguchi responded as Stormrage began counting down. "All stop in.. Three... Two... One." and with that, the starlines flashed back to stars as the moon that gave this base its name flashed towards the Stalingrad and came to dominate the entire screen before stopping completely. The view showed that the ship was extremely close to the moon.

"How close are we? helm?" Yamaguchi inquired. Her eyes widened as she realized just how close that the Stalingrad and her crew actually were to the surface of the moon.

"About two thousand meters. Give or take thirty meters." Stormrage explained. "Alright. Let's do this." he turned. "Skipper. Mind if I do this the hard way?"

Yamaguchi had to admire the sheer audacity of her chief conn officer, she had never seen anyone pull off this kind of precision flying before. "I should mention that I am not sure if I should murder you for your breathtaking level of insanity or for making me wet myself," Yamaguchi added a moment later.

"I'll accept court martial if we live sir," Stormrage responded before he turned. "Jet, give me five seconds from the impulse engines, I'll do the rest with thrusters."

"Okay." Lieutenant Jet responded quietly with a nod, now all business."

"Fire" Stormrage responded bluntly as he activated the massive ships thrusters. "Initiating terrain following mode," he added. "Foreward motion at two hundred kph. and starting our run." and with that, the ship began to follow the canyons and valleys of this massive moon.

"Elevation, two thousand meters," Stormrage added a moment later. "Time on station will be ten minutes, eighteen seconds," he added a moment later.

"Any sign of Klingon patrols?" Yamaguchi had composed herself now so she could ask without whimpering or sounding like she had just been terrified out of her mind as she replaced the moon appearing out of nowhere before it had almost impacted her ship, or was that her ship impacting the moon?. She didn't know anymore.

Meanwhile, Noros was considering what would happen if this plan didn't work. "Skipper. If this plan doesn't work. I recommend we power up and then finish the Klingon fleet engaging our guys. Then we go in and destroy the base ourselves."

"That's our last option," Yamaguchi responded. "We still need to get through the bases' shields. But we might be able to rely on M'Krrest to make that work for us." Yamaguchi paused. "But you still make an excellent point." as she tried to not look at the viewscreen before them all.

"It's distracting isn't it." Noros agreed with her. "Kell. Must you?"

"Sorry skipper. I need to fly, seeing what's in front of me." he paused. "Otherwise it'll take me longer to map out the route and then fly from point to point using only a map and a stopwatch."

"Who flies like that?" Yamaguchi inquired.

"The personnel of the Soviet Navy did Commander," Stormrage responded. "Give me a map and a stopwatch and I can fly the Alps in a plane without any windows," he added.

"I think you are insane Helm." Lieutenant Raeven commented from the port side of the bridge.

"I don't suffer from insanity El Tee. I love it." Stormrage added in response.

Lieutenant Zheng added. "The Freighter is moving towards the Klingon base, they are establishing comms with the Klingons."

"Do not listen in, the effect will give us away," Yamaguchi responded. "Maintain comms silence. Helm, time until we can reveal ourselves.?" the middle-aged human female inquired.

"One minute Captain," Stormrage responded, still in his good-natured and cheery tone as if he was ordering lunch rather than flying for his very life.

The comm system beeped. "Bridge, this is Engineering. What the hell just happened!?" Katrina Sisko demanded loudly. "The sensors just went haywire. Did we come out of warp next to a planet or something?"

"A large moon, to be exact. Don't' worry, it's all part of the program... You can watch the footage of our arrival later!" Noros responded. "We'll soon be leaving the moon for a run on the base very soon."

"I hope so. Helm, seriously!" Sisko protested with a snarl.

Stormrage sighed. "I'm always unappreciated. I tell ya" he sighed, softly. "Beginning assent. The base is directly above us now, as is the brawl." he added.

"Power everything up, arm all weapons and engage the Klingons as soon as you got a clear shot.!" Yamaguchi smiled. "and Allah be praised that we made it this far.!" the human female added a moment later.

The visage of the moon disappeared from the viewscreen as the sight wheeled as stars flew past to reveal explosions, ships under fire and ships being destroyed by weapons fire and beyond it all, the Klingon base that was the target of this sortie into Klingon space. "Where is the Freighter now?" Noros inquired.

"It's docking with the base now." Lieutenant Zheng responded lightly. "The base shields are out.. and I have transporter locks on the away team."

"Excellent. Proceed as planned." Yamaguchi commented. "Are we in range?"

Negative. Need another forty seconds to weapons range." Carter responded he had assumed Tactical while Hesutu M'kresst was off of the ship. "Almost there."

Meanwhile on the freighter. Commander Hesutu M'kresst smiled as he rose to his feet. "Time to light this fuse and bolt," he commented. "Set the timer for one minute."

The young engineer with him nodded. "Yessir, lighting the fuse." as he went to work while Hesutu M'kresst tapped his combadge. "M'kresst to Stalingrad. Scorpion."

The Engineer turned back. "Fuse is lit, detonation in sixty seconds," he reported.

"Confirmed. We're locked on and we're bringing you home now." and with that, the half dozen personnel vanished, the seconds ticked by and the bomb's systems sensed its own death as it detonated the fuse, lighting the bomb which turned the freighter into a giant explosion, which demolished the base's shield generators and much of the armor.

"Meanwhile back on Stalingrad's bridge. Yamaguchi noticed the massive explosion. "Open fire Tom, Kill that base."

"Launching ordinance now." Carter worked his panel as hundreds of warheads were launched from the Stalingrad before shooting down range and spending their mass and velocity on the base, creating hundreds of smaller firestorms that literally tore the base apart, the last explosion was a detonation of the base's reactor which suddenly melted down and for one second, the star system had a second sun contained within before the vacuum of space bled the energy away. While this was happening, the Stalingrad turned their attention to the remaining Klingon ships with violent force, quickly killing them all.

Moments later as the last Klingon ship exploded, her ships formed up with the Stalingrad before the formation moved into warp, heading for their next destination.
