Talons, Fangs, Claws and Teeth - Part One

Location: Low Orbit over B Kayor - Various Locations
Timeline: 0900Hrs - April 9th, 2392

Commander Plataea Yamaguchi knew that April would be the better choice for this chat, she knew this was going to get interesting, as the two women who looked alike on almost every single level imaginable followed her in silence, the only difference was that one of them was pregnant and the other wasn't

Plataea went into the Fleet Admirals office as she smiled at the Lieutenant sitting at her desk. "Hello El Tee... Mind if I pester you a moment?"

"Of course Commander. What can I do for you?" Lieutenant Toby Greenfield responded with plenty of good cheer in her voice.

"I.. that is we need to see the Fleet Admiral as soon as she is free... We have something of a family problem that she needs to help us resolve." Talon Yeager explained as Talon Yamaguchi nodded.

Greenfield regarded the three women in silence a moment. "Two of you.." she regarded Talon Yeager and Talon Yamaguchi in silence for a moment. "I think... I see the problem." before she tapped at the display. "You are also in luck... the Admiral is almost finished with her meeting."

"She is?" Plataea inquired. "Could you slot us in so we can see her... I promise we won't be long.."

"The Fleet Admiral has an hour before her next engagement... I can slot you in easily ladies." Greenfield responded, when suddenly the door opened and out walked three senior level officers, all three of them held the rank of Admiral as two of them were Rear Admirals and one was a Vice Admiral.

Unal and the two Talon's backed out of the way before snapping to attention as best as they could.

Greenfield smiled. "The Fleet Admiral will see you now." she indicated the door.

"Thanks... Come on ladies." and with that Plataea Yamaguchi went into the office followed by the two women who were more or less identical.

Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi was seated behind her desk, with her booted feet up on the desk, she was singing softly and had her eyes closed. "Ahh Lieutenant, what horrors do you bring to my poor blighted mind now....?" April clearly thought she was addressing her aide who had remained seated outside.

"Nothing... other then the privilege of our company." Plataea responded, a good-natured smile at her desk. on her lips.

April suddenly sat up as she sat forward. "Plataea... and people always tell me that space is...Wait...Did I miss something?" she noticed the two women who looked identical to one another. "Talon?" April asked softly, a horrified look suddenly appearing on her face. "What happened to you?" she looked like she was having issues processing the details.

"I'm fine April... Nothing bad has happened." Yeager responded as she raised both hands. "Really... Nothing bad has happened but-" the pregnant Talon indicated her twin as she spoke "-we have an errant member of the family who is looking for a home among us... You see its.... well its.." Yeager sighed before she looked pointedly at Plataea, as if asking for assistance.

"April." Plataea picked up on the hint before she sat down in a chair, unbidden, the other two women likewise sat down. "This woman is exactly who she appears to be... But she is the Talon I lost over a year ago from my home reality... Ouros found her by chance... and she mentioned it to me... Now that things have gotten interesting... She has decided to come and meet you."

April blinked as she processed the news. "So... I have another sister... That's fantastic news.." but she could tell that this second Talon was terrified of something, then April realized quickly. "You're scared of me."

"Is it that obvious..?" Yamaguchi inquired softly.

"Yes," April answered softly. "I won't ask why as I have a feeling I already know... and I'm sorry."

"Sorry..." Yamaguchi responded softly. "You have no idea what that beast did to me and you're apologizing for her... You can't... Nothing will ever make up for that.."

"I'm not apologizing for her.," April responded softly. "I'm apologizing for me... Because I look like her and I'll be blamed for her actions against you and your kin." April shifted her attention from the second Talon and Plataea as she spoke, then she shifted it back again. "I have a husband who treats me like a queen with a small army of children of my own... Also with a sizeable brood of nieces and nephews whom I love and treasure." April's eyes widened. "I have a huge family and I consider it a privilege to wear my name... But I'm Sorry Talon... For what you'd had to ensure from the woman who wore my face, my name, and my honor.." April explained herself.

Yamaguchi turned to Yeager. "I think I owe you an apology... Talon.. for I didn't believe you... Either of you that this April could be any different.."

Plataea smiled as she simply shrugged her shoulders. "What is a person Talon?... Other than the sum of her experiences... Thoughts and memories intertwine and mix to produce different people... One forged in the fires of an empire that formed out of a Federation that lost her way... and the other who grew in the garden of a Federation at peace with itself and its neighbors.." she indicated the now heavily pregnant Fleet Admiral seated before herself.

April chuckled softly. "I must remember that one... But Talon... You are a Yamaguchi... No matter what universe or reality you come from.. However... One little detail should be addressed."

Yamaguchi paused. "What's that?"

"You'll need to do something about your name... Having two Talon Yamaguchi's as sisters will get confusing so... I realize I ask a lot so soon after we just met but... I hope... I pray we can be friends..."

"I'd like that.."Yamaguchi smiled as Yeager gently touched her twin on her shoulder. "Welcome to the family, was there any doubt?"

"You'd be suprised.." Yamaguchi paused. "I can see how having two of us might get confusing.. So... I'll change my name..."

Yeager paused. "I can do it... It is not a-" as the woman who shared her looks gently silenced her. "No Talon... You were born and raised here and while I am envious of those details... I can use my new name to make a new start... My new life starts now... In this room."

April smiled. "Well. They say that if you go far enough, you'll eventually meet yourself..... I've read every novel by Jules Verne, Isaac Asimov and H.G. Wells... Yet I never would have believed those words.. Until today when fate saw fit to give me another sibling."

Yamaguchi paused. "You are too kind.." she paused. "I had no idea you liked compelling tales.."

"I've been reading them for years.." April responded, a wide smile on her face. "Daniel and Torilla have been receiving them for bedtime stories."

Yamaguchi paused. "You named your child for her?" she indicated Plataea.

"I actually named her for the Torilla in this reality but in a way... Yes, I did. Because Plataea here and Torilla are reminders to me of the best that people can do. They also give so much and ask for nothing in return... Both women have helped me with this shall we say unplanned pregnancy but ..." she paused. "I'm doing okay... My house is a full one with the happy laughter of children and I wouldn't have my insane, chaotic life as a full-time mom to be anything else." April paused a moment. "I also came up with a name for my youngest two... Braden and Haiyan."

Yamaguchi paused. "My middle name..."

"Yep. I asked Talon and she was okay with it... But that was before you came in today..." she regarded Talon's twin. "so I ask you?"

"It's a good name for your daughter... Though I confess... I never expected to ever hear April saying she liked the sound of happy children... Its gonna take me a while to get over that.." Yamaguchi admitted. "I'm Sorry April."

"You owe me no apologies Talon... She is who she is and you've only just met me... I hope in time we can be friends.."

"Of course.. You are something else... A real person and not that... Harpy that she was... You could never get to her level even you tried.." the second Talon responded softly. "As for my new name... So people don't keep confusing me and the hotness here." she indicated her twin. "I'll go with the name of..." she paused a moment as she considered it. "Alex." Yamaguchi smiled as she opened her eyes. "For an old friend of mine."

Talon nodded, accepting this choice as Plataea nodded to April who replicated three glasses from the replicator station behind her, she then rose to her feet and it was easy to see the pregnancy bump on her features. She opened a cooler. "Since I can't drink... I feel I am doing you a disservice, Alex."

"Don't worry ladies... I won't make either of you drink while you are new with children.." as she received her glass. "The contents don't matter... What matters is the intent.."

"I'll drink to that.." as April poured the contents of the bottle into the three glasses. "I was saving that for a special occasion and this certainly qualifies..." she paused. "To family." and with that, the three of them clinked their glasses before each drank a mouthful in silence.
