3rd Movement of The Odyssey

Mission: Mission 64: Mortal's Chiefest Enemy
Location: AQ-2834-474-Ab also known as Dylans World
Timeline: 1000Hrs - February 14th, 2392

Commander Daniel McKnight watched as the invasion started on the planet and against the orbital station as weapons fire flashed between them, for now however the Dreamcrusher was being ignored. Lieutenant Yamaguchi who was better known as Foehammer so people didn't confuse him with Commander Celeste Yamaguchi as he shared her last name, turned to the lovely Latina nearby. "Lieutenant. do the Klingons have the upgraded shields and weapons...?"

Rojas checked before she turned to Lieutenant Yamaguchi nearby. "Negative Lieutenant."

"Okay.." McKnight paused. "What the hell?" he added a moment later.

Just then the call came in. "Bridge. transporter room nine.. evacuation is complete, we're evacuating the last two dozen guys, now.."

"Fine work Chief." Celeste Yamaguchi smiled as she sighed happily. "Stand by to break orbit."

"Captain, We got the only colony.. What about the second?" Shadowsong was the one who was the fly in the ointment.

"What!?" McKnight turned to his Chief of the Boat as she brought up the location on the screen before them. "This location... It seems to be a storage facility... The Spartans equipment was never accounted for.. We should secure it or destroy to prevent its loss to the Klingons."

McKnight tapped his combadge. "McKnight to Scorch... I need your troops to go planetside and hold a facility while we empty it."

"Copy skipper... we're on it."

Foehammer Yamaguchi turned to McKnight. "The Klingons are concentrating their efforts against the colony and the starbase.." as the orbital battle intensified on the screen before them right as a half dozen birds of prey began to shoot at the Dreamcrusher.

Rojas didn't even wait for orders as she blasted one of them out of the skies.

"Open fire.." McKnight snapped out of his momentary burst of indecision. "McKnight to Scorch?"

"My guys are in position and ready sir."

"Energize when ready.. Don't worry about us... secure that base and began evacuating the supplies inside."

"Willdo." Scorch responded.

McKnight heard the com disconnect as Foehammer added. "Marines are away skipper."

"Give em hell Scorch.." Yamaguchi responded as she sat back down in her chair. "Status of the battle?"

"The Starbase is taking heavy damage, so are the Klingons who already have twenty ships destroyed and six more damaged." as he reported, there was a massive explosion that wreathed the station in fire for a split section. "What was that?" Shadowsong almost demanded.

"A older Klingon battlecruiser." Foehammer responded evenly. "It rammed the base.."

Meanwhile on the Starbase. Chaos reigned as Commander James Munroe growled. "Get those fires out!" he called. "Someone get that door open so we can get our ships out into battle."

"Primary power is gone to the door.." one of his officers responded.

Munroe regarded the sensor display with an air of resignation. "Fine.. tell the ships inside that the door is crippled and that they are to cut their way out."

"Yessir." came the response as Munroe turned back top the sensor display before him. "Divert shield power to weapons... Kill those bastards!"

On the display, one Klingon ship winked out in a truly massive explosion, its warp core was detonated by the starbases phaser arrays.

Inside the docks, there was six Akira class ships, one Ambassador class ship, and six Excelsior-class ships, most of them were fitted with the refitted shielding tech but not all of them were, however, all of them had not received the weapons updates so they were still using older weapons.

One of the Excelsiors suddenly lashed out with four lances of phaser energy at the large spacedock doors, one impacted in each corner as it began to cut into the metal of the door itself. The coruscating lances of energy traced the outline of the door before they went around three more times before the door had been completely severed.

The ship then used a tractor beam to push the door away from the starbase as the rest of the ships got underway with the one Excelsior remaining behind, her phaser weapons were damaged but her torpedoes were in excellent shape still so she got underway last.

The other Federation ships came out of the Starbase like angry bees from a disturbed hive, they began shooting at the Klingon ships, lances of energy connecting them like an overly fancy light show as ships on both sides began registering damage.

Dreamcrusher was trying to remain out of it but she was ultimately forced to get involved as a third faction. "Alright... Open fire. Ignore the Federation Mercenary ships and drive the Klingons out." McKnight ordered and just like that, the Dreamcrusher was committed to the battle.
