| Personal History | Maiev Shadowsong was born in 2333 on the Turanko Colony. This world was unusually Earth-like in many ways with one exception, it was a part of a double-star system. So she never knew what real darkness was until she was at the academy when she got to see what a real night looked like. Seeing Luna for the first time by itself was almost a magical event for her. She graduated school and then decided she wanted to enlist, she went the ROTC route into Starfleet as she preferred to remain as enlisted, this way she didn't need to show up to fancy dinners or be expected to do any of the fancy but stupid things that officers were always being called upon to do. All good things had to end somewhere and it did when her youngest brother Aeron accused her of being an apostate, someone who had abandoned their religion or their faith and she responded with. "Being in starfleet allows me to do what I do best, ignore stupid shit." Needless to say. Maiev and her brother do not talk to this day as there is bad blood between them, he is as the humans call 'a bible thumper' and Maiev doesn't tolerate that sort of nonsense. Maiev's first assignment in Starfleet was to the USS Fearless, an older Excelsior as an Engineers mate and thus followed the usual pattern to her career, she tended to remain in one place for years on end, earning promotions and commendations as she went. Over her course of her career, she rose to become a Master Chief Petty Officer while the Dominion War was raging, she learned to fight at a very young age and by the time Wolf 359 rolled around, she became very very good at combat in all its various forms, from hand to hand to ship combat and everything in between. After the end of the Dominion War she went over to the USS Ramillies, again another Excelsior class starship and she remained here as their Chief of the Boat for her entire assignment here before she requested reassignment to another ship, citing a need for a change, she requested assignment to another class of ship for a change and her first offer came along two weeks later, the USS Ticonderoga. Newly commissioned as a Vikrant class Fleet carrier. She was an experiment to see if a larger variant of an existing platform could be used as a fleet carrier. The experiment worked as the Vikrant served well, she highlighted that a platform which was properly used and utilized could serve in the intended role quite well. She remained here until late 2391 before she was reassigned to a battleship. The USS Dreamcrusher and now she's looking forward to making her mark on this ship's history. She would make history in another way as a result of the Pineapple incident. She would end up delivering a healthy boy she would name Lawrence. |
