Timeline: 0900Hrs - February 14th, 2392

Commander Daniel McKnight smiled as he walked onto the bridge. "Status?" he inquired as he sat down in his command chair as Lieutenant Kameron Yamaguchi handed him a PADD. "The planetary sciences report you asked for yesterday skipper."

McKnight accepted the PADD. "Thanks El Tee." as he began reading the PADD in his hands, the com system beeped at the bridge crew. "Sickbay to bridge."

"McKnight here. Whats up Doctor.?"

"Sir, the evacuation will be complete sometime in the next few hours. the unoccupied spaces is filling up fast."

"Good.. Keep an eye on things Doctor." McKnight responded as Commander Patricia Kingston walked onto the bridge. "Captain." she greeted him.

"Copy that skipper.. Sickbay out." Stevenson's voice was severed as McKnight tuned to Kingston. "Yes counselor. What is it?"

"I'm setting up entertainment for the refugees and the like." Kingston responded.

"How are the refugees settling in?"

"For the most part, they seem to be settling in alright.. Some of them are veteran starfleet officers who came here with their spouses and they are understandably upset."

McKnight nodded. "I would be too.." he responded quietly. "Keep at it counselor, pull any personnel you think you can use for this assignment."

"Yessir." and with that the older human female turned and walked back off of the bridge again as Yamaguchi turned back to McKnight. "The evacuation is almost ninety percent finished, the crew worked through the night for this."

"I'll make sure they get a few days off when this is all finished." McKnight answered.

"Captain. I'm reading ships approaching the system...Klingon ships, make it sixty ships all told." Nettles reported. "They are coming at near maximum sustainable warp.. the'll be here in about twenty minutes."

"Merde" Celeste Yamaguchi muttered before she tapped her combadge "Yamaguchi to all transporter rooms." she sighed. "Guys I don't mean to be a pain but we got company coming and its not the kind you want to take home to mamma, can you increase the evacuation speed any?"

"We have more or less maxed out the speed of the evacuation.." came the response. "But I'll work on it for you Commander... Sorry sir."

"Nothing to apologize for Chief... Keep up the good work. Yamaguchi out." as she turned. "All the shuttles are in use as well."

"Nothing to do about that number one.. " he paused as h turned to Shadowsong who was seated at the communications station. "Hail the base"

"I already have them," Shadowsong responded as Commander James Munroe appeared on the screen. "What do you want?"

"Just being neighborly. You got Klingons coming in... I suggest you-" the screen went black as McKnight stopped talking before he turned to Celeste. "I am starting to really hate that man."

"You and me both skipper... you and me-" suddenly the ship shook. "The station has opened fire on us."

Yamaguchi's response was instant. "Raise shields.. " she was out of her chair as she moved forward a few steps. "Where are the Klingons.."

"Sixty trillion kilometers and closing.. they are slowing to impulse."

McKnight nodded. "Oriana. Take us out of range of the base..." before he turned back to Shadowsong. "Then drop shields and continue the evacuation... How many left on the surface?" he inquired.

Orianna nodded her head as she moved the Dreamcrusher to the position requested.

Shadowsong nodded. "Dropping shields now.." she commented as Kamerom Yamaguchi, now on his second day as acting Chief Science Officer turned back to McKnight and added. "We still have about six hundred souls planetside skipper."

"Shit," McKnight muttered. "Amen." Celeste Yamaguchi agreed
