Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Deep Space, The Taurus Reach
Timeline: 1900Hrs - June 23rd, 2393
Lieutenant Gabriel Yamaguchi was manning his post, he had gone off watch earlier along with many of the others from alpha watch except his wife was home watching their children otherwise she would also be on duty as well. Lieutenant Tienn was also on watch as she was seated next to Yamaguchi but the two were discussing family matters. "Do you think Savannah will have issues looking after my little one?"
"Nah, Sav did say she would handle it right?"
"I appreciate her helping me with things. This will let me get all my extra work done and earn her respect in one move." the younger Bajoran female explained. "How's your mother doing these days?" Tienn had known of Torilla Yamaguchi from all four of her aunts and her third aunt, Kerris would soon be working beside Gabriel's mother as her Executive officer. Ezas had a very special place in her heart for Torilla and so did Nerra. Iteela was complicated and sometimes Durin really felt her aunt overdid things just because she could.
"Mom is doing alright with her various issues, concerns, and maladies," Gabe responded evenly. "I wish they could fix all of her issues but there are no Akurians present in the Taurus Reach to assist us with matters, they are all at B Kayor dealing with the Borg and the Ferasian issues."
"They are doing a good job," Tienn commented evenly. "I heard she'll be heading out to her new assignment soon," she added.
Gabriel tapped the display before him. He was here because he wanted to get some extra time in and Sheridan had encouraged his people to learn, learn, learn whenever they could and he wanted people from his first officer down to the lowest crewman to learn all they could about the ship and about each other, whenever possible. "We can hope." he sighed softly. "The last two years have been brutal for her. She was almost demoted and then she died in battle, then she was resurrected in an Akurian android body before she had a clone body grown for her," he explained.
"That's a lot for anyone to endure." The younger Bajoran female answered. "I dunno Gabe, Would I be happy at being resurrected without my knowledge or consent." she paused. "But she is alive. That has to mean something."
"We were all informed that she had died," Gabe answered quietly. "I still have nightmares about it," he commented. "Until recently, I was her only son and if that makes me a momma's boy then so be it," he added with a shrug.
"You are close to your mother, there is nothing wrong with that. Kosst, I envy you, Gabe." Tienn spoke. "My father cast me out because I had a child with a Klingon." she shrugged. "Still, while my life can be insane and hectic. I wouldn't have it any other way because I have Noel." the young Bajoran explained with a smile. "You know exactly whereof I speak."
"I do," Gabe answered evenly. "Any ideas how the Tholians were able to hide their presence from our sensors while they came at us like that earlier.?"
"Actually. I do." Tienn answered. "Savannah was onto something but she didn't see the Tholian, she saw the trace gases that were displaced by a ship at warp." as she regarded Gabe with a smile. "She is a steely-eyed missile woman."
"Don't you mean steely-eyed missile man?" Gabe inquired. "Dad uses that line as a compliment, providing one can understand it," he added.
"I didn't want to be sexist," Tienn answered with a nod. "Aunt Nerra speaks very highly of your family, especially your mother. Aunt Iteela, however, isn't sure of what to make of your mother, she terrifies her." Tienn explained evenly.
"With good reason," Gabe answered lightly. "Considering what Tienn Iteela did to my sister while she was pregnant. I don't blame mom for trying to intimidate her."
"Yes, I heard about that. Aunt Nerra was disgusted with what happened. Aunts Kerris and Ezas were little better in their condemnation on the subject, then it all came out in the wash that it was drugs and it wasn't her fault." Tienn raised an eyebrow. "How do you feel on the subject?"
"My sister very nearly needed to have her knee replaced with an implant because one of her fellow medics lost her mind and Elizabeth decided not to fight back." Gabe raised an eyebrow. "Had my sister decided to fight back, well, we would not be here discussing this now."
"How far do you think it would have gone?"
"Elizabeth severely outclassed Tienn in terms of fighting capabilities. Not to mention she's a telepath but she also has telekinetic abilities. Like me." Gabe paused. "She is, however a far stronger telepath but she loses almost all her telekinetic abilities as a result, for me it was the other way around."
"So if Elizabeth decided to make my aunt suffer mentally, she really could." Tienn sighed. "Iteela has a habit of collecting enemies."
"Oh yeah. Quite easily too." Gabe responded evenly. "Elizabeth I mean, could easily make your aunt suffer horribly."
Gabriel Yamaguchi sighed softly before he glanced down at his panel, he noticed something. "I'm reading the compression of trace gasses again, its coming right at us." as he narrowed his eyes before keying for a short-range sensor scan before he tapped the display. "Red Alert, all hands to Battlestations. Captain Sheridan to the bridge."
The lights dimmed before they began to flash red while the alarms screamed their tones, a ship and her crew racing to Battlestations to confront what new foe was about to befall them. Suddenly there was a bright flash as a massive Tholian warship emerged from warp near Joesph Colony to be confronted by the USS Spirit of Winter and the USS San Antonio.
Lieutenant Dwayne Rodriquez turned to Yamaguchi. "The San Antonio reports ready for anything sir, USS Arthur Curie is requesting a status update." he regarded Gabriel Yamaguchi since he was the ranking officer on duty at the present time.
"Tell them we're engaged with a Tholian vessel for the second time today," Yamaguchi responded in a calm tone of voice. He knew that the skipper was on his way.
"Willdo," Rodreguez responded in a light tone.
