Hobbs looked across her desk at Tienn. "I've decided not to press charges against that new marine," Hobbs stopped to look up her name, "Tamara Harrak." She then looked back at Tienn and Hausser, "I'm sure you'll have comments. Tienn?"

Tienn looked amused as she chuckled softly. "Now that's amusing." the Bajoran woman laughed in the Colonels face. "She caused a scene, started a brawl and is unrepentant so..." Tienn then shrugged. "Sorry... I'm still going to press for charges against her.... We should not have to condone this attitude Colonel, there are rules... and they apply to everyone equally." Tienn climbed to her feet before she stepped forward, now looking rather annoyed. "So... why don't you tell me the real story behind you're act of protection.... I mean after all Marines protect their own and this ship's reputation.... is not worth anything at this point really.." as she growled at Hobbs. "So.... let's have it!"

"Several days ago I had a conference with some brass back at San Francisco. From what they told me the 'Furban Incident' caused a stir. Star Fleet is blaming the Marines. So now our two snipers are themselves in the cross-hairs of Marine Command." Hobbs explained.

"If we file a charge against Harrak then their names will appear on the report." Hobbs told Tienn. "That will give the JAG officers an excuse to look into the case and clean the egg off their faces. They'll throw out the two gunneys and probably a few other senior NCOs and maybe a few officers."

One could see the steam coming out of Tienn's ears as she quivered, not because she was cold but it was more that she was enraged. "I want you to throw the book at Harrak... Or so help me... I will.." she hissed softly.

"And as a Star Fleet officer that is your right." Hobbs coolly told her. "Keep in mind that they will go also go after Martell and Di'Tomasso. And they will destroy the careers of any marine mentioned in the report. That would be Corporal Burganski, Sergeant Major Duval, and you."

"The alternative is to quietly chapter this marine out of the service." Hobbs stated.

Tienn wanted to scream loudly in frustration but she knew that Hobbs was right. "Fine." Tienn growled softly. "But let it be known that I'll be watching her... and all of your Marines... My children behaved better than her even when they are throwing a tantrum." the tall Bajoran seethed with rage. "Please straighten her out... How you do it... I don't care... but I don't want your little princess in my brig again.."

Hobbs nodded. "Sergeant Major Hausser and I have been discussing it with Major Rohr." Hobbs then tapped on her comm badge. "Daisy, will you and your marines please come in."

Daisy acknowledged and she entered along with Skoboleva and Werner. "Daisy, who is going to deal with this new private?"

"We have decided to assign her to Skoboleva's company and Werner's platoon. Gunnery Sergeant Werner will not be afraid to use a hands on approach when it comes to this new little puke." Daisy replied.

"Honestly, we seem to be spending more time on her than she is worth." Werner spoke up.

Tienn raised an eyebrow. "We're spending time on her anyway... She started a brawl in the lounge... Duval wants to kill her in her sleep."

"I know what she did," Werner stated with a little resignation. "We'll have her chaptered out in about a month. Until then, she'll be our problem child."

Tienn regarded Werner before looking at Hobbs. "Fine... Then I'll leave it... with you."

Werner nodded. "Thank you. Now, take me to this little nuisance and she'll become our problem." he was not interested in being polite, he wanted this mess resolved sooner rather than later.

Tienn narrowed her eyes at the perceived slight but sighed. "This way." and the taller Bajoran woman led the marines gathered into the brig area. "Here is your problem child. Please... By all means.. take her."

Tamara was laying on the bunk with her feet up on the wall. "On your feet marine," Werner ordered in a loud but calm voice.

Tamara didn't move. "Oh good. Another oversized goon. You gonna kick my ass?"

Werner stood there patiently. "Marine, before I start to take you own as my own personal project I have to ask. Are you just stupid?"

Tamara snorted. "No, I just hate males. Especially big stupid ones."

"Well for your prejudices you've picked an odd profession." Werner replied.

"Well I figured any loser can be a marine, even the half wit the knocked up my mother." Tamara casually answered.

"Well I don't know who your daddy is nor do I care about your issues with him." Werner replied. "I did give you an order and I expect it to be carried out marine."

Tamara looked at Werner and yawned. Werner looked at the brig guard. "Lower the barrier." The guard complied and Werner entered. He picked up Tamara and pinned her to the wall.

"Hey!" Tamara shouted in a rude surprise. "You can't do this to me!"

Tienn raised an eyebrow. "Actually... He can..." the tall Bajoran woman responded. "Werner..... Do you want me to present for this... or should I step outside?"

"I don't think your presence is needed ma'am, thank you." Werner replied.

"Werner? As in Gunther Werner?" Tamara asked, her expression changed from obstinate to curious.

Tienn nodded as she went to leave but the marine's response took her and everyone else completely by surprise as she turned her attention back to Werner.

"Marine, you will only address me as 'Gunnery Sergeant' or 'Gunnery Sergeant Werner'. You do not use my first name. Understand?" Werner told Harrak as he dropped her to the deck.

"How about I call you father?" Tamara asked.

"What?" Werner asked, a little confused. "Marine, if you want to stay in the brig that's fine with me. Don't play stupid head games with me. You ain't that smart."

"Did you have sex with a woman named Bianca Harrak on Lomak IV?" Tamara asked as Werner remained silent. Tamara then got angry. "You don't even remember her?" Tamara answered. "Well, she remembers you!"

"You want to act like this you can stay her!" Werner yelled. "Guard, barrier back on." He then turned back to Tamara. "You can stay here until you act right." Then Werner turned around and stormed out.

As Werner was leaving Tamara was shouting at him. "You don't remember her?. What type of person are you?. Your even more horrible than I thought!"

Daisy looked at Tienn. "Well this is awkward."

Tienn raised an eyebrow. "Yeah... But it also explains a great many things.." as she regarded the other woman. "Tamara..." Tienn raised her voice. "Okay... we heard you." she paused as she tapped the force-field control, the force-field fizzed and disappeared. "Major. I am turning her over to your custody."

"Thank you Tienn," Daisy replied. "I'll take Private Harrak back to her quarters. Not sure which platoon to reassign her to. Of course now we can give her a Section 8 so it won't take to long to kick her out."

Tienn raised her hand. "No." she said evenly. "I don't think she's crazy... she said a lot of dates, names and places to be a simple crazy... No.." she mused. "How would you feel if your son said that to the father he never knew about?." Tienn gave her a pointed look, knowing full well she was scoring hits. There could be some truth to the private's story... at the least... Let's consider looking into it."

Daisy sighed then looked at Tamara who was sobbing quietly on the deck. "We just ran a series of tests with Dr. Anjou. A simple DNA test will see if she is telling the truth." Daisy stared at Harrak. "Well, he did subdue her. I just didn't think it would play out like this."

"All things considered..." Tienn responded before she went over to Tamara. "Come on. Lets take you back to sickbay."

Tamara was very docile as she followed Tienn. Daisy looked to Tienn, "Why are we bringing her back to sickbay?"

"For a DNA test." Tienn responded. "I want to know if her story is true... so when Werner loses his mind... I can put him in his place." there was something malevolent in Tienn's tone.

"Both of them should already be in the Star Fleet data base." Daisy told her.

"Good." Tienn answered. "But I like being thorough. Nerra told me of you."

The trio entered sickbay and while Anjou was busy looking at a PaDD. He looked at Harrak crying and then at Tienn. "What did you do to her?"

"I wasn't the one who found my father and found out that he was an even bigger asshole then I ever imagined..." Tienn explained. "I need a DNA test... from Ms. Harrak here, run it against Gunther Werner." as she turned to Rohr. "He lost his right to privacy the moment he stopped thinking."

Anjou sighed. "Normally I wouldn't do this without consent from both parties. Considering the circumstances, I'll run them." It only took a few moments for Anjou to do the test. "Unless Private Harrak has had her DNA altered, she is the offspring of Gunnery Sergeant Werner."

Tienn regarded Daisy with an appraising look before she tapped her combadge. "Tienn to Werner. Could you come to sickbay please. We must talk." she said in a cool tone of voice.

Tienn tapped her combadge a second time. "Do you have any children Major?" she addressed Daisy who was nearby.

Before Daisy could reply Werner contacted Tienn. "Is this really important Ma'am 'cause a got a lot of paperwork to catch up on?"

Tienn paused. "Well... Let me put it this way... Either you come to me... or I'm coming to you..." the tall Bajoran responded. "I don't care either way.." as she regarded Daisy who was nearby.

"Well, I'm still in the armory if you need me Ma'am. Werner out." He sharply replied.

Daisy looked to Tienn. "Send Sergeant Major Duval to talk to him. He respects him."

Tienn tapped her combadge. "Tienn to Duval..?"

A moment later the response came back. "Duval. What can I do for you commander?" came the voice of the sergeant major.

"Could you come help me tend to a family matter please?"

"A family matter...." Duval sounded puzzled. "Sure... I'm on my way."

Tienn turned back to Daisy. "You don't think think Werner will give me the time of day.... do you?"

"It has nothing to do with you." Daisy replied. "I don't think that either you or I as younger females will be convincing to a middle aged alpha male. I think a talk on fatherhood should come from an old hand."

Duval approached as he regarded Daisy and Tienn. "Fatherhood is a delicate subject. It's also an intimate one." he smiled at Daisy. "Major. You look as lovely as ever." he spent a moment hitting on Daisy. "What can I help you, ladies, with?"

Tienn explained the situation to him. "Very well... But you three are coming along." as he regarded the young private. "She the lady in question?"

"She is. yes." Tienn responded. "Can you make Werner see reason.?"

"I will do what I can," Duval answered. "I will not make promises."

Several minutes later. Duval reached their destination with the ladies with him in tow. He tapped on the door chime before settling in to wait.

"Come in." Werner replied. He was sitting at a desk and going over a PaDD. He looked up and saw Duval. "Hell there Sergeant Major." He then saw the three females. "Oh, that's why your here."

Duval was blunt about it. "Yeah, thats why I'm here... since you seem to want to piss off everyone.. Tienn over there decided to ask me to come talk to you rather then make it official with the skipper." he shrugged. "So... you gonna give us a few minutes?. Or must I do this the hard way.?"

"Alright, the report can wait ten minutes." He told him.

Duval approached Werner. PADD in hand. "I'm hearing your having a shitty day... I would too if I had been told the news of what you had just been told." he explained as he placed the PADD on the table before Werner before he slid it across to the other man. "I've been where you are now... Twice in fact... When T'Nae told me I was going to be a father... and when I met not one man claiming to be my biological son... but two... twins, no less... but I met them at different times... Turns out that Admiral Olympia Vale didn't tell me she had twins by me." Duval explained. "and that Anthony also had a son with a woman who also didn't bother to tell him that he was going to be a father."

Werner kept his head towards his PaDD. "Still not easy." Werner replied in a flat, emotionless voice. "Not really sure what to do."

Duval regarded Werner. "There is no easy way to absorb this.." he explained. "I wasn't ready when I heard I was ready to be a father.... or a Grandfather... You're certainly not unique in this situation Gunther."

Werner looked at the women and then back at Duval. "A moment alone with you Sergeant Major?"

Duval nodded. "Ladies, if you please?"

As the females left Werner turned back to Duval. "I have no idea what to do. That girl is a complete stranger to me. I keep looking at her and have no clue what to say." Werner explained. "I'm not an easy person to be around. Back at home on Leuthen V nobody liked me. I shot my mouth off and picked a fight with anyone that trade punches. The reason I left for the Marines is that I wore out my welcome on my homeworld. I couldn't wait to get off that mud ball and my parents and rest of the colony were glad that I left. Now, I have a new relative and I don't know anything about her or how to treat her."

"Then do nothing Gunther." he responded. "I'll ask Daisy to assign her to Roanoke... Keep you two separate and let two both talk via subspace... Besides.. like you said, you've not exactly had the best experiences in life.." Duval knew that was something of an understatement.

Werner thought for a moment. "That's the thing. I don't want to send her away. I just don't know what to do when I'm around her. Even though she is my daughter we're still strangers."

"Fair enough..." Duval responded. "It was the same with me and my twin boys... Marcus and Anthony. One commands his own ship and the other is part of the R&D unit in the battlegroup." Duval paused as he sat down. "So... my best recommendation... is you two... have a heart to heart... preferably with Daisy in the room as she can play referee in case things get stupid," Duval explained. "That way you two can have a chat... without things getting stupid."

Werner wasn't sure what to say. "Yeah, that sounds good. I would like to have you here too."

"Alright. I will be." Duval answered.
