Mission: Mission 19: Taking out the Garbage
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - December 24th, 2390

Teval sighed in annoyance, the ship was falling apart fast, and he never anticipated this happening. He knew roanoke was the ship of the damned, but he never imagined it to be this bad. 3 incidents involving the death of crewmembers, 2 very major assault cases, and a major breach in security, and then of course the cigar incident, all in less than a month of being onboard. And once again Teval found himself in charge of the ship thanks to Zara being incapacitated again. Though at least this one wasn't her fault. Either way, they needed a solution, and fast, to keep the ship from turning into a warzone. Which is why he called every department head up that was capable of showing up.

Ra'Vak was the first to show up, himself looking ragged and tired, trying to piece engineering back together again. They had been up all night thanks to another power coupling exploding, and they have been trying to clean up the mess. Ra'Vak suspected it had something to do with the EPS power surge near the brig that caused the port coupling to fail.

"So, how is it down there," Teval asked.

"Its coming along," Ra'Vak replied in a tired voice." I have the port power coupling bypassed right now, but we wont be able to make anything more than warp five for a few days."

Teval nodded, at least their mission didn't require anything more than warp 5 anyway.

Aerin was the next to arrive. Even though he wasn't an official department head, his R&D team was still making a significant contribution to the ship anyway.

Commander Luhanna Wintersnow was the next to arrive, PADD in hand, she was followed by Orthos, who also had a PADD in hand.

When Phoenix came in, she was with a slight smirk on her face. The whole situation outwardly, was just something that brightened her day.

Meslina showed up and looked at who was present, then she looked at the console where various things were being displayed. None of which really interested her at the moment but she knew that this was not going to be a fun briefing.

Daisy had a cup of tea in her hand as she waited for the briefing.

The door opened and in walked Siaxx Dvald, she went over to the replicator, she ordered a drink and then went over to the massive table, she took a seat next to Phoenix, she actually wanted to sit a seat in Phoenix's lap but she would settle for the chair next to her wife-to-be.

Jacen came in after everyone else, looking like he'd been sleeping in his office and then just long enough to recharge the batteries into order to keep working. He was carrying a mug of coffee, from the strong scent of it, it was black to the power of a black hole and would likely cause anything it spilled onto to implode into nothingness. He took a long draw his mug before sitting down as he nodded to Teval and dropped the PaDD he had been carrying onto the conference room table.

Once everyone was assembled, Teval started the meeting," Well, as you all know, this ship has had an alarming number of major incidents since this crew was assembled, the latest being the murders of Crewman Mudri and Petty Officer Dart, with the Bremers being the main suspects. On top of that was Elizabeth Yamaguchi, telepathically assaulting the captain and drugging her, which is why she is not here today."

Jacen was silent as Teval informed everyone as to what had been occurring on the ship, looking around the table at everyone to gauge their reactions to the news. He remained silent as he took a drink from his mug and allowed everyone to process this information.

Stephen McKnight blinked. "Ensign Yamaguchi... that's not like her... she was generally regarded as being very stable." she paused. "I'll talk to her.. see if I can get into her head.."

Luhanna Wintersnow sighed softly. "Murder now... this crew has fallen far.."

Meslina sighed and spoke slightly under her breath, "Well at least command was right about one thing. This is the ship of the damned, and if we don't get our shit together it will forever remain that way."

"I'm good with weedin' out the morons. But how long will it be 'til HQ sends us more folks?" Phoenix posed, and started eating on an apple.

"That's something that I want to discuss," Teval commented, "Its doubtful that we can take many more incidents before command decides to sack the entire command staff, and send us all to the slammer. That's why I am saying that all the department heads look over every crew member, identify the useless bastards and get rid of them. Barfigthers aren't really a concern, but idiots that can't do their job, and are borderline criminals, we need to get rid of them quick."

Phoenix scratched the back of her neck at the mention of criminals. She was once named as a terrorist. And still saw herself as Maquis.

Siaxx raised an eyebrow as she regarded Phoenix with a smile and everyone else with a wry grin. "Well... My staff and I will need to process the bodies... so its just one murder case at present?"

Teval nodded, "Yeah, but be warned, one of the bodies is missing a head, the Bremers recycled it in a replicator before breaking it. They tried to dispose of the other in an EPS conduit.

"Explains the power surge," Ra'Vak commented.

Siaxx sighed softly. "Oh lovely.." she shook her head as she looked at Phoenix. "May I?"

Phoenix smiled and pat her lap, then took a bite of her apple.

Siaxx then quickly moved so she was sitting on Phoenix's lap. "What... its much more comfy then where I was sitting... Now.. as for the Bodies... who in sickbay is dealing with them? I've been out of the loop... dealing with a personal problem recently."

"Furban, I would think?" Phoenix shrugged and hugged Siaxx while she listened to the discussion.

Siaxx smiled, the spontaneous demonstration of affection always warmed her heart, it was something she didn't often see out of Phoenix, in private yet but not in public. "I'll go help her out... I should remind my people that I still live.."

Teval nodded," Yeah, sickbay has been asking for you for a while, seems that they are tired of Nalla being CMO." He was about to say something else, when a loud thump interrupted him. He looked for the source of the noise, only to find Ra'Vak as passed out cold, forehead on the table.

"Well Furban is a bit... odd," Phoenix shrugged.

Teval, ignoring the sleeping Ra'Vak, said to Phoenix, "Hey how is your flight status on who has the final decision on that."

"I'm pretty sure Tressa thinks I'm still funny farm material. So... Nadda." Phoenix spoke rather gloomily.

"Who makes the final decision on that though," Teval asked

Siaxx nodded. "I do." she commented. "I'm restoring you to full duty, you have your wings back..." she said to Phoenix. "We need you there and I need Boomer off duty for the next few days.."

Teval nodded, "I agree, Phoenix, you are needed on duty. My suggestion is that you start up reinforced CAP patrols, get these pilots some real stick time, well the ones that have flight status anyway. But either way we need the pilots to have something to do other than killing each other. I'D say get every pilot that is not suspended or working with R&D to do CAP at least once a day. How you organize the CAP is up to you. And I don't have any issue with you flying yourself either."

Phoenix gave a simple nod. Nothing was truly in stone until Tane was back and checked it off. And given her status with Tane, she was not going to get her hopes up.

Teval then looked around the room saying to everyone," The big thing we need to do though, is find a way to cut down on the major incidents. That means everyone is going to have to examine their departments and cut the deadbeats. How you all do that is up to you, but even the Roanoke has to know when to cut people loose. Starfleet sends us garbage, fine, we just get rid of it. But if anyone else has any further suggestions i am all ears."

Siaxx nodded. "I'll work up medical checks on anyone who is listed as a trouble case... and I'll ask the counseling staff for pysch evals on them as well, so we have the paperwork we need to chapter them out."

Daisy spoke up. "Would it be better to pool all the problem children in one unit so they are out of the way or do we keep them split up?"

Teval sighed, before replying with," Well this ship is a prime example of what happens when you pool all the problem children together, However, I will say, if you guys want to do that within your departments, that is up to you."

Daisy considered Teval's words. Then she realized that Hurd or Houges might think they are actually in charge of something and the damage an entire department of screw ups might cause. That made her shudder. "No, your right not to pool them." She replied to Teval.

"I would suggest against creating a Bad Company within our ranks, while yes they do cause some minor trouble with the given exceptions to the rules so far...but putting them all together would be like dropping some Borg nanoprobes in the the Earth Defense grid." Jacen said, stating his views on the matter.

Meslina cringed slightly, "I'll be reviewing more the operational things since half the ship seems to be falling apart at the seams for the moment, but I should have everything working as soon as possible. However that being said there are still things that need to be worked out with the Captain before I can give my final call on anything."

Teval shook his head," well I am not sure how long the captain is going to be at it, though when I tell Torilla what is going on with her daughter, maybe she might be able to undo the mindfuck."

Luhanna leaned forward. "If she can't then I most certainly can.." as a soft smile graced her lips.

A cold shiver ran up Meslina's spine with that smile, "I'm sure we can figure something out. I also understand that we have to be aware of what we are getting ourselves into with this it could help pull us together more or destroy what fragile bond we do have right now."

Luhanna grinned but it was an unpleasant one. "You worry far too much... We will overcome, will will endure and we will succeed!"
